As a teenage cyclist, I always thought if I died I wanted to die riding my bike, doing what I loved the most in my life. Now, after the years have passed, it's very sad to remember what happened to Fabio. Besides, he was about to become a father.
May you keep riding your bike in paradise, waiting for your loved ones to join you in a neverlasting ride of happiness.

Say what you want about Armstrong (im sure a lot will be bad) but its still a very nice tribute he did while crossing the line. RIP FABIO.

You knew something bad had happened when you see the excessive amount of blood on the road coming from his head. That's extensive damage. The urgency of the doctors to get him to the hospital immediately took precedence over the other riders who got very lucky. Very sad.

I didn't like helmets really but I can see after this a Wouter's crash that they are lifesavers

My helmet saved my life. Helmet 0-skull 1. End of debate. Always wear the helmet.

Wouter was wearing a helmet. The injuries that caused his death were to his internal organs.

    The melodramatic narration is nausea-inducing.

Moving tribute to a fallen team mate and fellow cyclists by the riders, would have nice if one of the team rode his bike or better still if two of the team either side of his bike free wheeled it across the finish line.

Was going to become a father... Sounds a lot like poor Wouter in the Giro...

'Castarelli'...darn it you reporter, get his name right!!!! 😡😡😝😝 Anyway, I was only 10 when this happened, it's such a grim reminder of the perils of the outside world when cycling. RIP, Fabio Casartelli. 🙏🙏

"The ability he had been given?" By who? Some mythical deity? These broadcasters should have to pass an IQ test before pontificating to the rest of us.
