I sold my first DD20 many years ago. But then I stumbled across some really helpful demos and tutorials, which made me want to buy a DD20 again, which I eventually did. I got myself a DD20 in mint condition. This time I will definitely keep it and your tutorial just added a ton of value to this fabulous delay pedal. Thanks for that!
I am a DD-20 advocate and longtime user. The tips were super helpful. Great pedal and, as you show, you can go super deep with it. Thanks for the video!
Some of these tricks I knew and some I didn’t. The DD20 is still my favorite delay of all time here in 2023. I’m glad mine is still hanging on. Still on my board as I type this.
The DD-20 can be made to be one of the most vicious drum machines that I have ever heard. It can. Make absolutely incredible slowly transforming soundscapes........ Most underrated pedal that I have ever had.
Great demo, cool solutions !! In warp mode with a compressor before it creates a "freeze delay" effect without pressing the footswitch. By setting the maximum feedback level each time you change a chord or note, the delay follows what you play without overlapping the repetitions of the chords in sequence. It's unique. Watch my DD20 demo 😉
@@bowdownandobey I ended up selling it because I figured that building a pedalboard with everything I wanted was twice as expensive as getting a quad cortex and I needed something to gig quickly But it definitely was such a great pedal
A step that wasnt mentioned that i found out from the video in spanish was to change the tempo type to ms and set it to 1, i turned my brain off thinking i could get thid effect at 3bpm
@@WeAsACompany they told me the newer loopers have a quantisation helping you completing the cycle. With time I got better on it, but I tend to press it aggressively to be sure I don't lose the microseconds in the motion and I am worried I will worn it out faster like this
Great video! I've had one of these for a couple of years now, and to be honest, I've found it so hard to set up normal delays that I regret giving away my cheapo delay unit. Still, I'll get back to learning again.
I use twist into pitch shifter set in perfect fifth then run into a slicer. Sometimes i run whammy with a clean boost at the end of the chain.... Setting it up were such a pita tho
Hi can you save those tricks as presets as well? Pluse I can't keep the digital interface with light on any idea how to solve that? Great video guys!:)
@@WeAsACompany So I should just use the write mode and insert the settings? for the lights if you press the tap and tempo buttom at the same time you should get your lights permanent on or at least for more time but my pedal wont do it and for istance wont aloud me to go to 'depth' or ' rate' mode as well thank you for replying to me you've been realy kind!:) Edit I can do the rate but not the depth
Hey all, wondered if anyone could possibly help me out! I'm not an expert but do play a bit, self taught for say, 8 years maybe more, but no technical knowledge (Scales etc) or gear know how really, I plug the thing in, turn it on, and tweek settings at random if I'm perfectly honest. Due to my health my playing days are running out, losing the use of my arms essentially, can maybe play for 10-20 minutes before I have to rest - either way, one song I want to conquer before I put it all down is called Pneuma, by TOOL, and it's the bass riff I want - using a DD-20 I have from ages ago, wondered if anyone knows the best settings? I think it's a half a second delay at 510MS but when I set my pedal to that it just doesn't sound quite right? Any help would be awesome so I can cross one of my last ones off the list hah!
If I didn't know better, I'd swear there's something supernatural about the BOSS DD-20 Whoever is playing the guitar in this video seems to be an Iron Maiden fan. 🤘 Perhaps I'm wrong and they were simply exposed to the Foreigner 4 album. 👀 Let me know what you think.
@@moneyisntrealnow Ok, that was pure improvisation but we had a copyright claim for that part. We don't know the name of the song cause youtube only mentions the publisher.
So guys, any DD-20 user out there? Did you already know some of these sounds?
No idea!

I just bought a dd20 and not only was this video helpful it made me extremely excited about my purchase! Thank u so much!
That last trick tho. Never thought I’d be keen on a sound from that algorithm. Well done.
now im loving my DD-20 even more
Not a bad sound in it.

So many fun things in a pedal I've had for nearly 12 years and not known about them. This will be a fun weekend.
Had mine for 10 years now and was unaware of these. Thanks for the lesson!
Thx a lot for your comment man!
Delay is the ultimate effect.
The gloves really make this video. Not even joking. Awesome!

Wow the last one is definitely something to work for. The stakes have never been higher! (Still struggling to make the perfect loop with sos)
Yep, super cool, but not very easy to manage. Same here, sos is not super easy to use either.
