    Farmers markets are NOT cheaper than Whole Foods. Fresher, yes, but everything is more expensive at farmers Mkt in CA. Even a CSA doesn’t save money, but it surely helps the environment and the farmer. Small Farmers are struggling in CA due to the cost of living is so absurd. Organic food may be cheaper at less expensive grocery store, but the veg are also dead because they been trucked and stored for so long before they get to the shelf-May as well not bother because there is no nutrition left in those veg you get at Lucky’s or Safeway.

    But local farmers tend 2 grow 2 close 2 the road & is usually along the routes that semis travel at least here n Florida

      If they were far away from society, nobody would know they exist, so as a business, they have to be seen if a customer (you) even know they exist. It's a balance.

    You're lucky that you live in CA? Hmmmm My son lives on the ocean in Rancho Palos Verdes and isn't feeling very lucky about living THERE. LA County
