im agnostic and i find peace in this kind of music, no instruments, no electronic keyboards or computers just a choir a conductor and a georgeus Church
For the agnostic, simple spirituality can begin with a fundamental understanding of the cyclical nature of reality (God). Represented by the snake in many creation myths, the living cycle has a trinity of a beginning (head), a middle and end (tail). As above so below, the sexes were created in the image of God's cyclical nature where Mother is the head and opening to all beginnings and Father holds the tail to all endings (through which the sowing of seeds allow for the next great matriarchal rebirth). The joining of the two (symbolized by the Ouroborus or the marriage ring) is the sacred union needed in assuring the creation and continuation of new life cycles. To speak of the present day God as "Our Father" is simply an admission to our collective positioning within the bigger cycle. As all mothers have direct experience with the creator quality of birthing, so is the direct experience of rebirthing the divinity within (baptism) belong to that which is spiritually matriarchal. As the leg shaped hairlocks extend from maternal breasts to the womb of rebirth, the lioness's head proportions are such that they highlight the bust of a second animal figure. The Lioness's ears as eyes and eyes as nose (nostrils) brings to life the figure of a reptile. 'Neath the halo headress of the solar egg, the lioness's egg fertilization process being internal (Set) and the reptile's egg fertilization process being external (Setting), such being key components to the safety of entering the trans-egoic or "born again" state. The life threatening fear associated with the predatory nature of a lion and/or crocodile encounter are reflective of the intense ego death experiences associated with the transpersonal awakening process. In spiritually matriarchal times, illumination could be seen as wearing the false beard (ancient Egyptian funerary "ego" death mask) as the high state of cyclical self knowing; high awareness of both our upper matriarchal half and our lower (later) patriarchal half (compared with a mini lower body replica, an "as above so below" tail end beard extension); in full recognition of her civilizational Underworld; her inevitable cyclical destiny. The male pharaoh wears his beard tapered in reverse, indicating a pointing upwards towards the patriarchal head, divine representative of God's tail end cycle. Mary's anointing and wiping of Jesus's feet with her hair can then be seen as "Head to tail" (toe) imagery as she descends her matriarchal head to his patriarchal feet, thus reenacting the high understanding of the divine cyclical process. (John 12, verse 3) To carry the Ankh (now the female symbol ♀️) was perhaps to symbolically carry that upper and lower understanding. As the upper matriarchal womb symbolised the fertile birthing of civilization, below, the now Christian cross is carried to place emphasis on the lower (later) "End Times" Father principle of the great cycle. Magnificent. If his lowest of creation is capable of such brilliance I can only imagine what the song of creation will be like. Praise be to the creator and may he yet again welcome us back under his grace.
I agree with you on the magnificence :) But Humans are the highest of God's creation, wherever we are at Spiritually, he sees us as equal. I take it that you mean as we develop into angels we will be capable of so much more and I agree and also eagerly anticipate my future!...But it's so important to note that god doesn't wish us to feel lowly. If you believe this for whatever reason, you are actually preventing his love and truth flowing to you! :) God's holy spirit can't connect to us while we wish to remain and continue to believe that we are in any way lowly, because the Holy Spirit delivers truth! The truth is that we are loved and cherished, not matter how anyone else has ever made us feel and not lowly at all by his estimation, we are all equal. If you reject this truth you are in fact in a sense committing blasphemy against his creations. rejecting God, his opinions, and his ability to connect to you and share love for he can't force himself upon you!
@winterroadspokenword4681 Thank you, friend. I was referring to us as a whole, not individuals. None can deny how sick and twisted our society has become, especially in the West. I see it as shameful and in need of correction. Hopefully, we can overcome this and yet again enter fully, all as one, under his grace. Amen and god bless.
@Gregorian Chant - The Liturgical Year Yes, but it's more than incredible or amazing. It's possibly even overwhelming. Yet the entire ensemble is a phenonemon.
Her name is Josephine Stephenson. She's a composer as well. You should look up "Mereri mei, Deus" by Gregorio Allegri, performed by the Tenebrae Choir. Stephensons really took the song to another level as solo soprano there. The clarity and absolute lack of vibrato while singing left me baffled to this day. P.S. fun fact; the song I'm recommending here is known to be practically impossible when it comes to hitting the high notes. Therefore, a choir performing the piece will *typically* provide the solo soprano with a helium-filled balloon (for obvious reasons). Regard this as a little backstory to further your appreciation of Josephine even more!

I'd never heard this piece before, but I adore the quarter note cadence it's got. The fact that the text is in Latin is irrelevant. Allegri is simply part of Italian culture.
@@littlebigjohn69a ver , machote, alonso lobo compuso esta pieza para los funerales de felipe II. A wonderful rendition of music composed by a Spanish Master who was in all ways, the equal of Tomás Luis de Victoria and performed by a choir who were in top form. I shall watch this video many many times. Thank you.
I was asked to find music for a treasured friend's memorial that was finally held this past week, one year after his suicide, delayed partially due to the pandemic. I had found this video shortly after his death; we played it during the slideshow before people were to speak. This was beyond perfect. It helped people access the deep dark vulnerable depths of their emotions, where ragged grief still caught breaths, bewildered loss expressed in choking sobs. Thank you very much for uploading this video.

I was fortunate to be able to listen to this choir live last week in Hattenheim,Germany. Very, very special and beautiful experiance. If there is a heaven, it sounds like this.
Beside the strength of the music, what is amazing and unique with Tenebrae Choir, is their skills about the perfect intonation.

What a melancholy piece. English lyrics per Wikipedia:

Magnificent. If his lowest of creation is capable of such brilliance I can only imagine what the song of creation will be like. Praise be to the creator and may he yet again welcome us back under his grace.
I agree with you on the magnificence :)
But Humans are the highest of God's creation, wherever we are at Spiritually, he sees us as equal.
Your voices glorify God and resonate the hope of Heaven.
This is the sound of angels. Lord have mercy on us

I don't know who she is, but the soprano who starts the piece has such an overwhelming clarity of voice. Amazing.
@Gregorian Chant - The Liturgical Year Yes, but it's more than incredible or amazing. It's possibly even overwhelming. Yet the entire ensemble is a phenonemon.
She is amazing and highly respected in the choir worlds
@@mathiasdupont8025 Are you sure she's in this video ?

I'd never heard this piece before, but I adore the quarter note cadence it's got. There''s a whole story in the dynamics and harmonics, but it's got so much tension in the rhythm and minor harmonies that stays until it finally resolves to the major chord in the end. And you guys do it so much justice.

Amazing vocal control. The style was perfect for this song, and dynamics were just right. Love how the sopranos would come in on a very high note at messo-piano or even softer in place, and perfectly in pitch. All parts were sung with reverence for the lyrics, a funeral song for a king!
The bass line that starts at 2:17 is such a moving moment! Then I realised that the person in frame is Stephen Connolly, former King's Singers bass. Glorious sound, and wonderful to see (and hear) him in action again!
I've never seen him with beard before, he also looks younger. Are you sure? Best choir bass timbre last 20 years.
@@ykalantzis He sure looks a lot like Connelly if that isn't him.

And the conductor is Nigel Short, the legendary countertenor. Im guessing Tenebrae is a King's side project, one that allows them the mixed choir.
@@joaobernardo1034 not at all !!! Tenebrae has his own , completely independent story and structure. It was founded when Nigel had left the King's Singers for quite a while...
