The entire The Force Unleashed campaign was and is one of my favorite sections of the Star Wars universe, legends or canon. I collected everything I could except for the Maulkiller skin from GameStop.
Mac Welch around the same time, Force unleashed came out in 2008, same year as clone wars started. Unleashed’s development likely started in 2006 or so, one season of an animated series usually takes one year to develop, and a show like Clone Wars would have 2 seasons made before the first episode was even made. Thing is, Starkiller only uses a reverse grip because the developers wanted the saber to be on screen as much as possible, they thought his body would block in with a normal grip.
You see, this is why EU Star Wars will always be superior to any garbage the mouse spews out. The idea of Starkiller meditating on the Dark Side by staring into his Sith lightsaber is a powerful and poignant visual image with deep philosophical undertones; and it shows how well read, passionate and creative the Star Wars content creators of the EU really were. “Beware that, when fighting monsters, you yourself do not become a monster... for when you gaze long into the abyss. The abyss gazes also into you.” ― Friedrich Nietzsche
If this story was brought over to the new canon they could change the origin of his red lightsaber by Vader providing him with a Jedi crystal (that had actually belonged to his father) and bleed that one, causing the apprentice to sever all ties with his Jedi heritage.
I believe so. And in the end, I believe StarKiller has love for Vader too. He spared him in the end because he saw what the dark side had done to Vader, and he didn’t want to end up like that. I think it was both, anger and hate, mixed with love.
He was constantly impressed by him as he raised and trained him.. While Starkiller was merely a tool to him I would still imagine that love would have had it's place.. after all the dark side grows from severing ties.
Nahh vader was beyond these things at this time. The closest thing to love he may feel for Galen would be pride and respect since he trained him well and he always met expectations but ultimately no he did not. Galen was a tool and nothing more.
