  • This week we go over changing the oil on the Transfer Case of our Gen 2 Raptor.
We did our oil change early at 50,000 miles and as you will see in the video, I need to shorten my interval a bit because of all the offloading I do.
Ford recommend 150K mile interval for normal use & 60K for heavy duty including offroad.
You will need some basic tools and 2 quarts Mercon LV Automatic Transmission oil. Check my Amazon influencers page in the maintenance section for details on the oil. www.amazon.com...

Great video! Where did you get the torque spec? I looked in the user manual and couldn’t find it.

I have a Gen 1 2013' Manual says Motorcraft Transfer Case Fluid ( Part # XL), but it's super hard to find. Can I use the Mercon LV ATO instead? Manual calls for the Mercon LV ATO for Transmission Fluid so was wondering?

I would check with your local service center. Ford sometimes does update the guides. For example, for 2019-2020 Raptors, some of the fluids got changed. Radiator, and several other fluids were updated. But they only apply to the newer trucks because of the new components. So I would check with your local service center to make sure.

Have you serviced the front diff?......

Yeah, it’s a complete pain in the ass. Only option is to suck out the fluid using a break bleeder pump. Taking off the cover is practically impossible without taking out the steering

That's what I thought...At what mileage did you service the frt diff?....Thanks!

@@Titantramp4u since I play a lot and like the extra control of Baja mode, I did it when I did the rear diff.
