lol. I was just thinking this the other day. There’s lots of times a miss a strum (mostly the up ones) but I just carry on. I enjoyed your video. Thanks.
Hey. Great lessons! Just wondering..... should your strumming be more wristy or does the whole forearm move like a pendulum? I've seen both being taught seemingly. Thanks!
This is a great question👍 The faster you strum the less time you have to move your arm up-down so the more wrist you want to bring into the mix. If that makes sense.
I'll and I'm sure others. Will be waiting for 16th notes added with quarter and 8th note strumming. in 4/4 and 6/8 timing.. Thank you for your time and dedication.
My question is what if beat 2 requires no strum (down or up) do you physically still move the arm down and up without touching the strings or do you slow down to create that empty space and then continue to beat 3?
For sure! I'll record a video on this topic. Good question. I recommend my students to start with a really thin pick. Like paper thin. You can hold it really strong so it doesn't fall and the pick will bend to the strings. If you want to strum with your fingers you might want to bring a little wrist movement to the mix - strumming down with your index and up with your thumb.

Awesome, Kelly! Exactly. As long as you keep on with timing nothing really goes wrong, right?
These strumming lessons are proving so valuable.
Thanks for these awesome videos!!!
This is what I need the most.
Let me know if this helps you! 😃

Wonderfull Den!!! Thanks!!
Awesome! Thank you so much for watching!
Just great, thanks .
Awesome! So happy you liked it!
As a begginer I think rhythm is the hardest thing to master. This helps, thanks Den 👍
Hi, Jason! Try focusing only on rhythm. You can do this by muting your guitar and avoiding playing chords. You'll see it becomes a lot easier.👍
Great!!!
Thank you!!! ❤️

Love your videos sir, I found them through the "Learn notes of the fretboard - No theory" video.
Fantastic, Giovanni! Thank you for watching them. It means a lot that you took the time to write a comment.
Good teacher
Thank you!
Great presentation. I find when I get out of rhythm it because I have stopped moving my arm constantly between strums
Exactly!! Thank you so much for your comment and for watching❤️

I find a pick hard to use for strumming - do you have any tips for no pick vs pick; and how to strum with a pick on chords?
For sure! I'll record a video on this topic. Good question.

@@LearningGuitarSecrets Awesome answer, thank you for that!
Oh no, I've been treating the strum as a melody. 6:33 so glad you said that
Good video Den
