OG VIDEO: • Joy Division - Love Wi...
    ABOUT…
I am Rebecca and I am one heck of a passionate vocal coach/singer/songwriter/impressionist/health/fitness/self- improvement/anything that makes me smile!! I love anything vocal/singing related and geek out on it every day. I want to motivate and inspire others to follow their dreams…corny? Well maybe but it’s true. So what’s motivating me?? I had a huge tumour removed summer 2017 and my ovaries and fallopian tubes. The tumour was the size of a 20 week baby!! However, despite not being able to walk for a couple of weeks, and feeling generally awful…. It has made me create and do what I love! It wasn’t an easy time but I won’t let fear dictate my life. I didn’t think ‘why me’, there are plenty of horrific issues people have to deal with…it’s not always smooth sailing. It’s true when you hear, ‘Life is short’, the crazy thing is, I am glad it happened…I appreciate life even more and practice gratitude everyday…It’s so easy to get caught up with the little things…and I do sometimes, but look at the bigger picture, will it matter in a year or two…?
Also thank you for all your support. It means a lot.
Subscribe to Rebecca Vocal Athlete to get inspired by new videos!
    Have a great day!!
    Rebecca

Such a pointless video. They are telling us how to interpret musical lyrics now! The ability to think independently is stone dead now.

    • @kennygerberich4985
      @kennygerberich4985 4 роки тому +8

@@anonomousous Lol who's telling you how to interpret song lyrics? The individual in the video giving a very vague interpretation from their own personal experience, an interpretation that was even headed with the phrase "I feel..."?
If you're feeling forced into thinking any sort of way by that, then you probably shouldn't be complaining about people's inability to think independently. You should just take comfort that they're not overwhelming you with numerous, varying opinions, because you seem to have trouble processing even the most benign views of others without feeling oppressed.

The vocals were recorded with the tape sped up, then slowed back down to create the slightly other worldly vocal effect. It was one of the favourite tricks of producer Martin Hannett.

      Chris Wareham
Martin was the man. Flawed but beautiful.
Buzzcock’s (no Joy Division without them) first EP, Magazine, Mondays on Bummed, The High, New Order’s brilliant early stuff, basically so much for Factory artists, New FADS, the first Stone Roses tracks, even a U2 track.

Some say if it wasn't for Hannett, JD would have been just another punk band. For me he was JD's fifth member.

@@carlosnavarro1091 Definitely the fifth member, and they acknowledge learning a lot from him. Without him I believe they still would have been more than "just another punk band", as some of their live performances attest. Perhaps a little more aggressive sounding - check out the Les Bains Douches live album for example.

@@Daniel-gw2tb I read about it in a Joy Division book that was published in the late 1980s or very early 1990s - it included information about some of the recording sessions. I was a student at the time and couldn't afford the book, so I read as much of it as I could in the huge Virgin Records store that used to be on Oxford Street in London. Maybe someone on a Joy Division forum knows the author and title as I cannot remember :-(

Boy... this brings me right back to that British wave of the '80s. The Cure, The Human League, Depeche Mode, Euythmics, FGTH (Frankie Goes To Hollywood, for those of us who live under rocks... lol) and my absolute mega "fave of the wave"..... The Smiths. The synth really came into it's own during those years after the... "what is this new instrument all about" in the 70's newness wore off.
Speaking of The Smiths... lyrics of the day: "Ask me why and I'll die... oh ask me why and I'll die. And if you must go to work tomorrow... well if I were you I wouldn't bother... for there are brighter sides to life... and I should know because I've seen them... but not very often" The Smiths _Still Ill_
The Smiths were to the 80's what the Fab Four was to the 60's, just not such an instant insanity inducing love for a band. The Smiths influence was much more subtle and took many years to see the results. Love those years in music, so thank you for the second time today :)

It was about his affair and failed reconciliation with his wife. His medication made him depressed as well. Nowadays there are warnings on medication that “may cause suicidal thoughts”, not back then. Just a lot for him to handle, and between his affair, failed marriage, worsening epilepsy, he just couldn’t take it anymore.

Thank you for the reaction. Most big Joy Division fans are in love with their first, and very unique album Unknown Pleasures. Key hits in their catalog: Shadowplay, She's Lost Control, and New Dawn Fades. Ian suffered from epilepsy and had a couple of really bad seizures on stage. His medication and depression were not a good combination..The surviving members went on to form New Order.

I love you for choosing this great song rebecca ❤️ the lyrics and the way Ian is singing it, I think it's so deeply honest. The love lost between them, one can hear how much he appreciated it and his mourning, "that something so good just can't function no more" The lyrics are so clear, direct and straight in your face... It's over, there's nothing to repair...too late, "we've taking different roads" Yet he sings it almost like a lullaby, so calm and so beautiful heart touching. It's a masterpiece. Thanks so much and stay healthy 🧚‍♀️

Hi there, long time no see :)
Well... this song... almost killed me and saved me some years ago.
2012, summer. I had just had a MAJOR HEARTBREAK (how major? One night I'd cry LITERALLY FOR HOURS NON-STOP). And a few times I'd go out, listen to this song, walk streets, not really paying attention as to where I was going. My mind was... elsewhere... Thank God I walked quiet streets and was not hit by cars! But then, after a while, I felt like this song was my therapy, and, while, of course, not 100% ay-okay, I felt like I had gotten over.
Thank you, Rebecca, for your videos and coach work, and Joy Division, for the therapy and some of the very best post-punk songs ever ^^.
