About the mask, by the covid mesures.The law doesent force you to have to wear it outside(better to breathe the fresh air).Inside publick places exept like resturants and bars, but when it comes to the inside, aither wearing a mask or not, there is a capacity of people that are alowed per squer, and the shops close earlier that is why you see resturants close by 8 or 9, depends on the covid mesurs, placed by our president. If your in side and not wearing the mask, a oficer(komunalci) will if they see you, probably write you a ticket, to pay 20$ or 50$
Novi Sad is where I'm planning to move from Texas in a few months. I love Novi Sad! You should see it during EXIT Festival! It's held at the Fortress you visited! All around it and even in the moats.
There are more nice places to visit in Serbia. In winter time incredible mountaines with a lot of sports activities and in summer time mountain Rudnik with traditional styles lodges and great food.

Novi Sad is approximately 4 times smaller than Belgrade. The mentality of the people is different. Life in Novi Sad is calmer and slower. Belgrade is a jungle :)

Me original from Germany spent many vacations in the 70s in at that time Yugoslavia ,mostly in Istrien .The small towns are just gorgeous little restaurants have great and spicy food ,instead of a Burger you guys should had some cevapcici or Chorba od Janjetina what is a vegetable lamb soup . BTW January not the best time of the year for Europe
And even we have some pretty much famous band Ortodox Celts that plays Irish music. :D :D Also many say that Irish and Serbs are pretty simmilar in culture, character and lifestyle. :D

Most americans thinks that balkan sucks, that it is horrible here and most of them dont even know to show on the world map where our country is. But people like you who have followers and can share the influence and people who are willing to explore Serbia can change the negative american attitude about our country. On the other hand, Belgrade was long under Ottoman rule and has large muslim population during that time, while many Serbs migrated north to Austrian empire where Novi Sad was founded in 17th century

We actually had biggest percentage of covid new cases in Europe in November last year, but due to protests against government that happened in June and July, government promissed there would be no lockdowns or mandatory masks on the open, only inside is mandatory. People who are at risk of covid(elderly people) are advised to wear masks always but theres no reason for the rest of us to wear masks when we walk the street, and every muncipality and city is allowed to have its own regulations on masks and public gatherings depending on how the situation with covid cases is in that part of Serbia

Great video guys, I am currently living in Novi Sad for almost 20 years. Is a great town, got my kids here as well born and raising them in this wonderful country and town. Yet you should had tasted cevapi, pljeskavica, riblja čorba which is a wonderful fish soup. There are different, but one is the iconic made with tomato and paprika. Gives you energy of a bull. Anyway, come back any time. This town and country will always welcome you. As I experience all this year the greatest and most hospitable people in the world.
so Gyros is Greek food, here in Serbia we spell it either as GIROS or sometimes you can see GYROS. however we just pronounce both the same as g (green) i (see) ros. (the best giros is mixed meet with tzatziki dressing)
Serbia is 51st in the world ranked for management of Corona virus pandemic, before Germany and Switzerland, so yeah, pretty good management. Also second in Europe, after UK, by the number of vaccinated citizens per 100.000.
10:17 the building behing you on the right is one of popular places for groups of friends to hang out, it is a pain to get 20 floors up but mann, the view, the view from the top is amazing, priceless, i've been up there a few times, my favourite place to chill with my friends

Keep up the amazing work. I love how open you are to learning and trying new things and thanks for taking us with you on your travels.
Nice trip to get there. It looks just like driving up here in North Dakota America and down south. It looked nice as I said but very flat till you get to some hill area. I loved those churches and the old buildings and the fort. Looks like you guys found some ladies to enjoy dinner with. I hope you can catch more footage and slow down a little. You are going fast and doing flash video and we are missing the beauty. You know I love your show but I am use to you taking more time on a video when your old partner was with you. You can tell me to get bent, but I miss the Jim who gave you amazing footage, costs, showing more of the food and telling us how it tastes, then pause and come back. Novi Sad is a chipper town with all the spoils and none of the stress of the big smoke. Locals sprawl in pretty parks and outdoor cafes, and laneway bars pack out nightly.

5:54 GYRO-english or GIRO-serbian is short name for GIROS. GIROS is GREEK version of KEBABA, it is GREEK fast food, greek restaurants. Very popular in Serbia. Almost any biger town 50 000+ people has one GIROS restaurant.

Sadly most of Jews were killed during WW2 and most of synagogues were demolished. Novi Sad and Subotica synagogues had luck to survive but nowadays I think Novi Sad synagogue is more concert hall so not open regularly as normal sacral object

That is so not True. Belgrade was under Ottoman, but allways the large population was Serbs, orthodox Serbs.

5:54 GYRO-english or GIRO-serbian is short name for GIROS. GIROS is GREEK version of KEBABA, it is GREEK fast food, greek restaurants. Very popular in Serbia. Almost any biger town 50 000+ people has one GIROS restaurant.

I learned to edit over the years but learned to tell a story recently. That was done will Skillshare class :)
Sadly most of Jews were killed during WW2 and most of synagogues were demolished. Novi Sad and Subotica synagogues had luck to survive but nowadays I think Novi Sad synagogue is more concert hall so not open regularly as normal sacral object
