DC Icons 7-Pack 6" Rebirth Hal Jordan Green Lantern Figure Review

- Today I take a look at the upcoming DC Icons Rebirth 6" Hal Jordan Green Lantern figure from DC Collectibles. This figure is part of a Justice League 7-pack set for release on 3/22. While this figure looks very similar to the previous Hal Jordan figure released in the Icons line, it is not a simple re-issue. The figure has actually been up-scaled so that it is taller than the previous version. This figure does not come with any accessories or extra hands, but the ones that were included with the previous Hal Jordan figure will work with this one. You can also use the hands from the Icons Jon Stewart figure. Accessories from those previous Green Lantern figures as well as the ones in the accessories pack will also work with this figure.

I appreciate that they gave him a complete redo rather than just repacking the old one. I wouldn't expect them to give another release alone so its a nice little incentive for the whole set.
Awesome review.. thanks for this. I plan on swooping this up, the Movie Masters GL Hal Jordan is so small and out of scale with my DC Comics Multiverse Justice League figures, this looks like a way better fit! Thanks again for your review!
So let me get this straight. People have been complaining about the figures being too small? Really? They are super articulated figures. They arent meant to be your standard figure size.

This figure is awesome. I feel bad I have the original, but at least some accessories are compatible.
I wonder if this will be the new size. I really hope they do it for the Superman Doomsday release.

What doesn't make sense to me is if they were doing an entirely new figure, why not do his proper Rebirth costume?
I don't think Hal even has all those lines in his suit in rebirth

Sick review man and this figure looks sick same as superman but from the pics I saw Wonder Woman and batman look the worst especially the face sculpts
Awesome review as always. I preordered this set back in September when it was the New 52 set. I'm looking forward to getting these figures finally and your review of the other figures.

And not to force just asking if you can review cyborg or flash tommorrow, aquAman would be nice but again it was just a suggestion
Some relief its not too similar to the original release and the hands are swappable. So I think I'll get the full set, though not gonna use the glove cannons anyway, not my favorite part of that set. But now my worry is cyborg since that will now be the closest to its single release
Solid review, Jay. Green Lantern has always been my favorite DC hero. Lately, though, he's been getting glossed over. I think it's because of that awful movie. Anyway, the figure looks pretty good except for the lantern. Looks a bit flimsy if you ask me.
So you mean to tell me the initial Icons figures will no longer be in the scale with the rest of the Icons line?
cmbrock1 except for characters like Green Arrow and Flash then yeah they'll be a little short
cmbrock1 You can still fudge in most of them like joker, harley batgirl, ect, but anyone you want to be signifigantly muscular won't be (except maybe john stewert and firestorm)

Why did they put Hal in this set? He wasn't a part of the Rebirth Justice League. Simon Baz and Jessica Cruz were!
I believe Hal is in there because originally this was going to be a New 52
boxset and they updated it to match the current DC Comic storyline, but I doubt
it would have been cost effective to put a completely new character in
there.
bluelanternof2814 Rebirth isn't a reboot tho. It's a soft reboot so including him in the pack makes sense since they are still the justice league line up from new 52 which is why we them all there since they are the seven of the continuity.
Technically they'd have to completely redo the molds so probably about the same production costs as a new figure. Just without the sculpting which is a small part of the overall cost.

DC Icons messed this one up. In the new DC Rebirth Comics, Hal Jordan is no longer part of the Justice League. Jessica Cruz and Simon Baz are the new Green Lanterns and are part of the Justice League. Hal Jordan on the other hand has it's own team called the Green Lantern Corps.
Despite of the missing accessories and all, the set is nice and it's good for display but without Jessica Cruz and Simon Baz on this line, the set is wrong/ incomplete. So, I'll skip this one and wait for the Mattel DC Multiverse line and collect the characters individually. Hopefully, DC Multiverse will get the characters right.
LOL, they didn't mess up. This was originally going to be a New 52 boxset and made the switch to match the current DC Comic storyline, but by the time they made that decision this set was in the production stages and there is no way it would have been cost effective at that point to scrap Hal and create a whole new figure for the set. And I got to ask, being the only Rebirth figures Mattel has announced for the Multiverse line so far are Superman Batman and Jessica Cruz, how is getting the DC Mattel Multiverse figures going to help you complete the entire roster???? I could see maybe getting the Mattel Cruz figure in addition to this boxset if you really can't wait for DCC to do one, but if your goal is to get the whole Rebirth Roster, this set gets you much closer than what Mattel has announced so far.

Hey Jay..when you review the Batman figure, can you see if the hands from the previous Batman fit on the new on also? I wanna see if it looks too small on his body..I know it's not the same color but I'm just curious..thanks
Can you do Aquaman next? also can you talk about the state of the line a bit in one of these videos, a lot of worries going around about a possible cancellation

They will continue with Icons but only as sets.. Like that Super Sons set and the Superman and Doomesday set.. Where still gonna get the ones that are previewed on the back of the box and plus Nightwing and Supergirl but after those 2 there will be no more single box icons
Icons is pretty much canceled. :-( No Sinestro, no Deadshot, no Deathstroke, no Swamp Thing, no Catwoman, no Etrigan, no Static, but we'll get lame ass stuff like Supergirl and battle damaged toys.
Marcos Kain i havent heard about them being cancelled they said they delay has been changing factories so hopefully things will be coming faster and better now that thats cleared up....dc collectibles need to keep this line...dc films was cancelled no need 2 take this one
They said everything outside of Nightwing and Supergirl was being canceled as far as single releases go. Also, the Booster Gold/Beetle 2 pack was canned.

Ugh it bothers me like crazy that they are already up scaling the line. It works for teenage characters to be a tad bit smaller like blue beetle but not others like black adam. Like wtf man. It's just so inconsistent.
Is it true that basically the icons line is pretty much canceled? Any chance of getting that etrigan figure they announced?
