- Welcome to today's video which is a look at my complete collection of DC Collectibles DC Icons SO FAR. There are other I still need to get though. Like, lots, but these are the DC Icons I've managed to muster so far. Rebirth, New 52, and Pre-Rebirth/Post Crisis on Infinite Earths are all represented here.

Looking at some of these older videos Im so bummed that Icons ended. The face sculpts on most of them are MUCH better on these figures than in the Essentials line. I keep reading that they are supposed to be based on Jason Faboks work, but that just really doesnt shine through in the figures IMO
I'm still a little bummed that the Icons line is ending, especially since they seemed to get better as they went on.
Hopefully the new Essentials line can go on for a good few years and have something for everyone. 👍
Yeah. The thing I liked about Icons was that they were closer to scale with DCUC figures, so certain characters could blend with those displays. I do wish the Essentials line success though. I just hope they include more accessories than what was previously shown.
Brad The DC Universe Geek I wish the essential figures were a 6in scale. They would have been perfect to blend, but now they are a bit too big for my taste. Unless they are small for a 7in scale

OH NOOOOOO! I forgot Supergirl! I just plum edited her footage out. I recorded it but ended up cutting it by mistake. Also, this actually is Bruce Wayne as Batzy. I know Richard had a different suit to Batman's classic suit so I just figured it was DC screwing things up because Last Rites is primarily a Richard as Batman story arch. Turns out I was wrong. DC apparently came out and said it was Bruce under the cowl.

I really wanted red hood being he’s my favorite but now that Mattel is stepping up their game with articulation and making for both kid and adult collectors because I like to play with my figures still and the icons line plastic was so brutal and broke so easily which made it harder for people to still play with their figures love the channel keep up amazing reviews and work

Thank you! I'm holding out hope that Mattel makes us a Red Hood figure too. If I worked at Mattel there would be multipacks galore! Batfamily, Superman Family, Flash Family. We would get our Red Hood and more.

Dc icons was such a great line it was just as good as marvel legends but needed to be 6 inch scale
It apparently was supposed to be six inch in scale. I think some of them were just a wee bit small too.
they marketed as a "true" 6 inch scale, but collectors are more used to lines like marvel legends and dc multiverse which are actually closer to a 6 1/2 inch scale. which is why a lot of 1/12 accessories don't really work all that well for most lines.
Airbreaker42 it was true six inch scale. The general 1/12 scale fig is slightly bigger in actuality
The only DC figure line I will completely pick up. I'm super bummed they canceled this series.
With so many good figures that never got released it was pretty sad.

You should totally pick up Swamp Thing. He’s one of the best from that line in my opinion. Great drop down hips too :)
Really good stuff, i personally like to mix dc icons and dcuc I think it just brings variety to the collection
Your friendly neighborhood Marvel fan here wanting to say that I though this was a really cool video. As an action figure fan in general, I enjoyed seeing all the different figures being displayed.

How can they not all be my favorite! XD The fact that so many great characters never made it past the prototype stage still stings to this day.

That's the best-looking Flash figure I've ever seen. It looks just like Carmine Infantino's drawings- large head and all.
I had to settle for a chain lighting version, these barely appear on Ebay.
If I could have 2 figures form this line, no more no less, I’d choose the super sons I loved the comics it just makes me happy to see that kids aren’t left out.
How do you feel about the ending of Super Sons? It’s a regular series for me since day one and now they are ending it. ☹️

I just start d collecting these recently. I have a comic book store that has them in stock at $22.00 a pop! Love them!.. just got Jon Stewart yesterday
I really enjoy this line and it's a shame it didn't do so well.
DCC clearly thought this would be their Marvel Legends and set it up so they could do a lot of characters in this line and different versions, so they'd do a modern Wonder Woman and leave it open for them to do a classic version later which... can't really happen now
Very nice video my dude...I did my best DC figures of 2017 on my channel...but I have most of the DC icons except for Burnside Bat girl and green arrow, also mister miracle. I love to see and hear other DC collector views of DC...just subbed to you brother keep up the great work!👊 also I see you don't have Static Shock, or Swamp Thing...I'm missing them too.

I only have Batman,Superman,Wonder Woman & Aquaman. I was super hyped for Sinestro & Shazam,alas they cancelled it. Might pick up Green Lantern(Hal) Nice video man

I love how they made the Damian figure (accurately) shorter than the Jon figure.

I'm just pissed that we never got that awesome looking etrigan figure which I pre-ordered. I was just so mad. It looked like the best most interesting icons figure. Loved his sculpt and over all look

LOL Big Bartha Wonder Woman. I bought her because she is the tall. I put her with my Multiverse Dark Knight Returns Superman and Batman as my Trinity. She is slightly taller than Batman but just a tad shorter than Superman. Sad Supergirl got cut. I really like that sculpt of that figure and will be getting her soon...
My favorite is Deathstroke I love the classic looks.

I agree but I also think an extra head would have been nice too. It's one of the complaints I see on forums about this one and also see people trying to headswap it to have a hatless noggin. This figure would have been the perfect candidate for a second head.
I wish I was into figure collecting when these were out, my local comic shop moved and had everything 65% off!
In my opinion some of the best executed DC ICONS Figure are Deadman and Mr. Miracle

Before I was totally pulled into the rabbit hole that is action figure collecting, someone in my area was selling their collection: the entire Icons line for 400$, unopened. I shuffled my feet for too long and missed it. I'm still not sure if that was a mistake or not.
think it was as you could have made way more reselling them :P
400? For the entire line of the whole icons figures? Most of the icons go for $100 so yeah you missed a once in a life time thing my man
There's only a couple that I would want. I know most these characters back from being a kid but have never had the urge to collect DC figures.

DC really miss the mark every time
The Icons was ok but there was a few questionable choices. The differences in classic, 52, and Rebirth looks felt disjointed and some of the molds were simply weak. The Marvel Legends line is simply a better product they stop. I think that the New 52 and the DCEU have damaged the DC brand (even though I prefer the DC characters to Marvel generally speaking) and then it’s ANOTHER line with the same characters over and over

my favourite in ur collection is superman,the one on the right with black adam n othrs.the doomsday storyline.

It's sad... I don't have the Doomsday set yet, but it looks amazing. If only they had done the Icons in a proper 6 inch scale, I think it would have been more popular.
Yeah the shorter scale ultimately killed this line, and they tried to fix it but alas too late.
I got Static, Harley, and Swamp Thing after the line was defunct and it made me so sad because those are SUCH beautiful figures. Scale niggles aside, I thought the paint and attention to detail blew 99% of the Marvel Legends figures right out of the water. Now I'm sad again.
I kind of rectified the too tall Wonder Woman by accident. What happened was my Rebirth Wonder Woman figure's leg broke off the hinge at the hip. So what I ended up doing was using my spare Amazo Virus Icons Wonder Woman, heated up the joints on the them both and transplanted the WW Rebirth legs knees down and forearms onto the Amazo Virus Wonder Woman. I also switched out the skirt armor(more heating and gluing).They matched surprisingly well. I repainted the silver to gold so it would match better. She scaled much better IMO. Sure she's AS taller as Rebirth Batman and Superman now, but I think that is a bit more accurate. The hands from the Amazo virus fit pretty well in the Rebirth forearms too, but I do handle them with caution because Icons are a bit more delicate. This took a while to do but I think it was worth it.

It sucks that this line got cancelled I jumped on it right away, only missing the Flash as he was and still is waaaaaay over priced where i am, but you should definitely pick up the Darksied and grail two pack and the batgirl bike set as they are awesome!!
I’ve been soooo close to picking up Batgirl and Darksied/Grail and Just never have. They are on that endless list though. 👍🙂
I never understood everyone's whining about articulation. I mean your going to stand the figure on a shelf and not move it, ain't like your taking them to the sand box to play everyday. And most figure are sculpted to sand in one position and like odd in any other way.
I would consider myself 90% shelfer and 10% poser. I crack some of them out from time to time for Instagram but other than that mine just stay on the shelf too. Articulation isn’t really a giant issue for me either. I’m not a big fan of when Action Figure snobs (that’s what I call people who get downright pissy about articulation) say “this Figure doesn’t have ankle rockers and butterfly shoulders so its total garbage. Toss this p.o.s. In the trash bin”. I think folks who get that agitated over Figure articulation might need to evaluate some things. This excludes people who purchase action figures for the sole purpose of Action Figure Photography of course. To be fair though I do get annoyed myself when the figure is so bad it wont even stand properly. That kind of thing does kinda get to me. I did a video tackling this very topic, the topic of action figure articulation.
Evan Patterson then why wouldn’t you just buy a statue??.. lol, action figures are made to be posed around and displayed
I'd complain mainly because I need lots of articulation for my stopmotion series'!

I totally agree with you on Wonder Woman the 7 pack one she is too taller than the others. I wish they can me her a little shorter than Superman and taller than Supergirl.
domcariddi she normally isn’t that big but in the latest dc animated film I think it’s called the Legion of something she towers over Batman and Superman. So there are some not many iteration of the characters where she is taller.

DC Icons was my figure line of choice. I was planning on going back and buying all of the ones I missed and had a bunch of them on pre-order and then they cancelled the line... Including a bunch of figures I already pre-ordered. It was a shame because the line really picked up after the first wave. It is especially sad when you look at the images we've seen of the DC Essentials line that is apparently replacing Icons. They might end up being okay but the proportions are all out of wack in the images we've seen so far. I basically only collect DC and Star Wars so I'm really hoping DC Collectibles settles on a line of figures that will last for a long time. I'm not a big fan of the Mattel Multiverse stuff so I rarely buy those (I do have the Clayface wave ordered already though).

I’m sorry I didn’t get more of these figures cause there beautiful looking and so much better then the Mcfarlane line I really wish I could have gotten more DC figures, I was so heavily concentrating on my Marvel collection, when I was a kid I was more a Marvel fan than a DC fan, I didn’t get in to DC until my late teen’s it wasn’t until George Perez joined DC that I started paying attention to DC, I did manage to put together the Justice League, Some JSA member’s, a pretty good Legion of doom missing Giganta though , and Crime Syndicate. I Really wish McFarlane would add a little more articulation and reduce the scale of his figures down to 6” and forgodsakes diversify is line with more characters, I do intend to get is more of his monstrous figures like Clay-face, Man-bat, Lobo.I can make them work, I see you didn’t get the giant Darkseid wish I had gotten the one with Grail, and I never got any Para-demons .

The best ones that weren’t released are the sinestro, dead shot, and Shazam. Those should have been the last releases in the line.
They all were great. Booster and Blue Beetle if nothing else should’ve been the last one but I think the death of Superman being the last one is a fitting end.
Several of these I still need to get
Only two things I didn't like with this line was the very loose leg pegs where the legs would just easily snap off ( not break). And also the scale, they should be like marvel legends type of size. Not 6.25 lol.

Yep. Just a simple repaint of the hair and eyebrows. Good news is that Aquaman figs can be pretty cheap on ebay. Bad new is that half of them have googly eyes.
