    That cohesive wall of custom vivs looks SO GOOD!! Can't wait to see it stained and stocked!
    Your videos are so encouraging - you make the process of building such spacious vivariums look so easy! Keep up the awesome work! 😁

    I would have been so frustrated trying to work in such a narrow space, and it came out spectacular, amazing work

      I definitely didn't make it easy for myself with that design but I'm glad that's all over now! Thank you

    Awesome build 😊😊 Do you mind if I ask for the full measurements of the build please I have 2 FWC myself

    These are really helpful, I want to adopt a snake or two and intend to make the vivs, partly because I can't find any I'm satisfied with the size of. Although I will need to be prepared for scrutiny if my uncle ever sees my handy work as he's a cabinet maker by trade 😂

    How have you waterproofed the plywood? Thanks

      Hi, I have loads of videos explaining my process in the diy vivariums and tutorials playlists

    Im planning to build a monster 8ft x 4ft 4ft 😂😬, any tips on where is best to get the glass. I was also thinking of just doing two window frame doors with acrylic. But then its for a tegu 🤷‍♀️ any tips would be massively appreciated. Ps only ever built a rack out of an old pine wardrobe 😂 i have all the tools and no idea 😅

      That's a great size! I use a glazier that's local to me, I can order it online and collect it so it's very easy to do. The only thing I would say about acrylic is that it scratches easily so may not hold up much to a tegu

    Great video on these enclosures
    I wonder why you put the substrate shields into the enclosure by the thickness of the spacer instead of flush with the front
    Any specific reason you do that?

      Thanks! It's just a design choice, it's a very standard think to do on vivariums in the UK

      @@norwichreptileshed oh yeah. Makes sense.
      In your opinion, would a 300 x 90 x 120cm terrarium be enough for a savannah monitor?
      Building one for my friend's monitor but he has limited space in depth. That's why it'd only be 90 cm deep

    • @norwichreptileshed
      @norwichreptileshed  Рік тому

      No it's far too small in my opinion. No where near enough height to have a good substrate depth that can be used to make humid burrows that savs have in the wild. Without that they just don't survive for very long.

    • @Chopingporky
      @Chopingporky Рік тому

      @@norwichreptileshed if the height would be 150cm instead of 120cm. Would that be better? It would then have 60cm soil instead of 30cm
      I myself have an argentine red tegu. His enclosure has 30cm of soil and seems to be doing quite well with soil humidity
      Also safe distance to heat lamps eventhough his enclosure is only 110 cm high

      Sorry I mistook the height for the width and mm instead of cm so the floor space would be 90cm X 300 CM? If so that is a good size

    Really good enclosures, will be using your videos for reference when I build my own - looking forward to part two.
    Launch some merch you have nothing to lose, if you have a mate who can do them for you then you can do print on demand instead save yourself some money 🤟👍

    I would like to build for my boa, is there a particular finish that is reptile safe?

    • @norwichreptileshed
      @norwichreptileshed  Рік тому

      Hi, yeah there's a few options out there and I cover it in in most of my videos on diy vivariums. I use Ronseal exterior wood stain and rustins non toxic varnish

  • @alex81815
    @alex81815 Рік тому

    How do you water proof these from getting mold . Like if I have to mist to keep humidity up

    • @norwichreptileshed
      @norwichreptileshed  Рік тому

      Mould and waterproofing are quite different things but I'll try and answer both. First off the vivariums are as waterproof as possible with stains, sealants and varnish plus the substrate area is lined with a waterproof flooring protector. This is all covered in my previous builds and "waterproofing a wooden Vivarium" video.
      Mould is caused from the build up of stale, humid air which means there isn't enough ventilation, even a water resistant surface like varnish can still have mould build up on it. You'll notice on these builds that I use 3 large vents on both sides of the Viv, the hot side vents are drilled higher up which creates air flow through the Viv by sucking in cooler air from the lower vents on the cool side. This can also be helped by pc fans.
