Was in shock when I found out about the accident. Felt like I lost a friend even though I only new Sam from watching Rebuild Rescue. Was bitter sweet when my 401 plane tag arrived sometime after. Made me happy and sad at the same time. To me Sam is the 401. Can't wait to see the 401 fly in person at some point. Maybe Oshkosh in a year or two. Completion of the 401 has extra special meaning to me now.
Rest in peace, Sam! Until Jesus comes again to take us home. I look forward to the day when I'll meet you for the first time and tell you how much you helped and encouraged me. Until that day, RIP brother!
I would like to let the famely know that Sam is one of if not the greatest person i yave ever had the privilege of knowing, even if it only was in the videos put up by the RBR Team. I am in France but for a person like Sam the world is one place. The same for me. The world will miss Sam . . .

I will remain a rebuild rescue follower as long as your channel is here, he is part of how I started watching the channel. I think the thing I found most about Sam was in the beginning he was really quite camera shy. I think Sam was an intrinsically private and shy person who hid that behind his at times sarcastic attitude. As time went on, one got to see more of him as he truly was. while I never met him, I came to like and admire him very much as I saw his passions come to life. Thank you for making this video and my best and kindest regards to his family. Angus.
To watch all of you grow as a family really made this channel as special as it is. If you could only play a recording of him saying 'clear prop' the first time you start it would be really neat.

My condolences to Sam's family
Sam was the life of the party, he was the one who made everyone happy. I have been watching from the beginning and Sam always made me laugh, and when I found he passed in a plane crash my heart was ripped out of my chest. God wanted him home and he is in charge of everything. We are all just happy that we knew him and how he changed all the lives he touched.
Obviously I have never met him, but his passing has really bothered me in a way that I never expected. He just seemed like such a good guy. 😢
I know that feeling, despite a stroke, my Dad died back in July. Fighting through the tears is proof.

There are other channels like this on UA-cam, but so far what I cherish the most about this channel as you stick to your roots and you don’t change your mind, it’s not just about accepting donated money it’s about being honest, and sticking to your core values and never giving up. It’s about hope and faith and that is what really matters.

Sam was a great guy: anyone who'd GIVE YOU an airplane when he'd never even met you (but probably realised instantly what good people you all are) is by definition, a great guy. Very quickly it was obvious he'd made the right decision when he saw what you all wanted to do with N81AD. He is already very missed including by me over the other side of the ocean. Fly in peace Sam!

Who would have imagined that such beautiful friendships and camaraderie would have grown from meeting someone who was giving away a free airplane, and then become such an integral part of the team/family. Talking about ugly crying 😢. I believe I have been watching since the beginning and I truly feel like you all are family. Having spent my childhood growing up in an airline family, my father worked for Eastern airlines and I worked at BWI going through school, the connection cannot be explained or described. GOD speed Sam. You are loved by all.
I cried the whole way thru this video...😢 Sam has had a huge effect on everyone and has touched soo many people with his presence and personality...even to those who never even met him personally...you could just tell the kind of person he was...the day i heard of his passing my heart just sank and still does each time i think of him...he will always live on in everyone who he has effected even in the smallest detail...rest in peace Sam...and many condolences to your family and buddies in the Rebuild Rescue Crew...i will always think of you all!! 👍🏼👍🏼

I couldn't watch this until now, I needed a few days to be in the right place to watch it, and my Husband won't watch it because he knows it's going to upset him a lot. I am so glad now that I've watched it, and know God brought this community together, in flight with Sam and Jason Piloting the journey with a rescue crew. I always feel that some of us have done enough, so we get to go home to heaven sooner than others, and thats where the adventures truly begin! Amen. x 🕊

An awesome tribute to a great guy. I loved seeing Sam go from giving a "get that camera out of my face" look to becoming a key part of the team. Sam may you have clear skies and the wind at your back for eternity. Jason if you don't get that bird back safely in the sky flying missions again Sam will make it his mission in the after life to haunt your ass until it happens!

Sam was special… I cried through the whole video. I’ve been watching since day 1 of the 401 rescue. I knew right away that Sam was a special person. I really enjoyed each and every video Sam was on. Still can't believe Sam has been taken from our midst. I remember being one of the many guys that said Sam's name should be on the 401 and I am honored to see that he is being honored in this way. I just hope his wife and family appreciates it as well, and I think she and they do.
Now... quite dawdling and get the show back on the road. Can't stay sobbing around forever until you grow too old to get the plane done. Sam wanted to see smiles, so it's about time to take that first step forward again towards smiling from the bottom of your heart. That's for each and everyone of you bastards! Hi Jason, I have followed Rebuild Rescue from day one and I took Sam to my heart. I considered he was a great part of the Rebuild Rescue Team, and thought he was a great ambassador for the cause. This was a great tribute. While most of us could not attend his funeral, the comments show HOW MANY lives Sam’s life touch. There is no greater tribute or legacy a person can leave than touching lives.
I fully understand the emotion involved. Yesterday, I went to the celebration of life for my Bonanza partner. Unless you’ve been there, it’s hard to explain the combination of pain and joy being experienced simultaneously. RIP Sam.

Sam’s legacy will be carried forward by all of you. Remember him, have a few laughs along the way, and by all means finish the 401 and fly and share it with others. If you take a step back from the tragedy, you were really given a gift to redefine your appreciation each day and those you love. Don’t waste it.

Thank you so much for sharing these healing moments with all of us. Sam was a mirror image both in appearance and in personality to one of my best flying buddies, John, who we lost a few years ago to pancreatic cancer. Like many others who watch, I feel like I lost yet another good friend. As a stage IV colon cancer survivor myself, I fully support your goals for helping others in need with the 401 project.
That was a beautiful tribute to Sam. He sure had good friends and I always enjoyed seeing him in your videos. He was one of a kind. I need now to go and wash off my face from the tears. RIP Sam.

The best legacy one can have after passing is when everyone you know sincerely speaks lovingly and kindly of you. Always listen to your inner guidance, Sam may be looking out for you when you need that helpful friend whispering in your ear.

When you think of rebuild rescue, you think of Sam, Joe, Jason and aircraft, Sam will never ever be forgotten such a big part of our lives and he has pushed rebuild rescue and us forward so much in life and will keep doing so, fly high Sam, I hope you are in a happy, relaxing place and looking down on us to keep us going in life, so so sad, we have to keep the happy times in us about Sam until we meet him again on the other side.
I started watching Rebuild Rescue’s aviation videos a good number of months ago and finally got caught up on this video. The impact Sam as had on Rebuild Rescue is immeasurable from the outside looking in. Because y’all’s faith is not present in each episode, it is very encouraging to see Sam’s godly leadership and the growth in the teams’ faith because of it! Keep proclaiming Christ! I hope these verses encourage y’all as well: Matthew 5:1-18, Romans 1:16, Galatians 6:4. I am keeping the Ganow and Rebuild Rescue family in my prayers. If the Phenix is the name of the C401, then “The Ganow Legacy” is 81AD’s title!
We all saw Sam's warmness and caring shining through in the videos. He was truly an authentic, down-to-earth guy. My heart goes out to his family and all the RR crew.

I lost my mentor a few months back too. This man's entire family was in aviation, his father was a pilot his brother, uncle, his kids,. You name it he flew it. Maj D. Beek from Jamaica. Filled with so much aviation knowledge it was mind blowing. Happy Sam knew the Lord, nothing else matters.
Eveyone reading this, as humans this is hard to accept. However there is something very strong and important God is telling us all here, for me that is to check in with God and see where our heart is with him and with people around us. Thank You Sam for leaving a great example to love others in a Godly way, you are only slightly ahead of us.
After I finished a local flight with Long Island Aviators this morning at KFRG, I needed to discuss something about getting my license with one of the owners, who is an A&P/IA and a DPE. One of the guys in the office said "He's over on the hangar, we got a new Cougar". So I went over to the hangar, stepped in the door, and it was *Sam's Cougar*, N769GA. He said he went down to Chester to get it and flew it back yesterday. He said it was in good condition and he was happy with it, but there were a just a couple of minor things he wanted to work on. I saw the work that you guys did on the wings last year. I was so surprised! So I'm going to be seeing Sam's Cougar regularly and I'll be thinking of him. I might even train in it!
While I never met him, I feel like I knew him a bit. Always smiling. Apart from his family & friends, he'll be missed on the chanels videos. Rest in peace Sam.
