My greatest moment of a live show ever, deaner was shredding happy colored marbles, purple lights, smoke show, and the full moon started rising over the treeline. He didnt stop until the full moon was in the sky. They're doing their 3 night vegas stream this weekend, I'm psyched
I remember when I first heard this song. I couldnt sleep and it was 3 in the morning. Since I had school the next day I decided to stay up. While searching for something to do I decided to listen to The Mollusk in its entirety. Before that day I had only heard Ocean Man and boy was I surprised.
@@pissbaby7306 dude man, Ween have been my favorite band for 6 or 7 years and I'm still finding shit I fall in love with that I've never heard before. Such a great band.
My blind introduction to Ween was at the South Park 25th anniversary show at Red Rock. I had absolutely no idea who they were, and didn’t pay too much attention during a lot of their stuff. I knew there were a ton of Ween fans who apparently traveled the country and never miss a show, but I really didn’t get the hype. Then they played Buckingham Green and absolutely liquified my brain. It was arguably the single most memorable moment of any show I’ve been to. Absolutely mind boggling and beautiful
@@jarrettthomas4865 They aren't responding in defense, they're giving further examples that support this theory. Ween are not the only large-scale band to use a theremin.
Ween live in Chicago has to be one of the top 10 American concerts of all time, Ween is legendary and best of all they are super humble dudes unlike a lot of super popular artists and bands.
Me too! I heard Buckingham Green on the South Park 25th anniversary concert and said "how can they have been around for over 25 years and I'm just discovering them now??? Lucky I have a friend of a friend who's a huge fan, someone to go to shows with
Saw them in Madison Wisconsin some, I dunno, 10 odd years ago and they opened with this as I shoved my way into the 2nd row. It was cathartic to say the least.
You can't lose when you open a show like that. Must be one of the very best short guitar solos of all time. Still gives me goosebumps after dozens of times...
PicklePyro he’s definitely one left off the lists. I think he likes it that way though, his fans adore him, the rest of the world has never heard of him
Talk about an underrated guitarist. I feel the same about thurston Moore from sonic youth too, neither of those dudes get much love from the mainstream critics but they’re both nasty as fuck. And Deaner is a legit good guy, thurston I guess is kind of a womanizer but if I were a rockstar im sure I’d be similar. But you never hear a bad word about Dean or Gene. Personally I think this version is one of the best gene sang live but that’s just my opinion.
HOLY SHIT, I just finished watching Ween play "The Golden Eel" live 6/6/17 @ Brooklyn Steel... (go look it up) and at the very end, Dean Ween (in his red t-shirt) goes to pick up his lit cigarette from behind him and walks to the mic. I then opened this video, and there he is, in his red t-shirt, lit cigarette in hand, walking to the mic. Boognish works in mysterious ways.
FUCK YEAH THERAMIN in the intro... AMAZING fucking band. They often don't get the credit they deserve.. also, that Strat Aaron is playing is FUCKING RAD.
Pretty unbelievable that this only has so few vews. What like 5800 as of this post? Goes to show that people are so out of touch with how amazing real music can be if they dig to find it. And how under credited Ween really is.
Ween are awesome live and this is one of their best songs, *BUT* it's just not the same without the vocals being distorted like they were on the album.
I think that the live versions (especially some recent ones) give more emotion to the song, I absolutelly love when gener nails it. This is my favorite song btw
When they were both kids they had a mushroom trip where they both saw Boognish and ever since then they knew they had to form Ween. I don’t remember where I heard this, but it’s a pretty brown story
Deaner crouching down in front of a smoke machine and nailing one of the greatest guitar solos of all time is the coolest thing I've ever seen
This dude is seriously the real fucking deal. Let’s not give discredit to the drummer as well tho

I absolutely agree. Hearing this song forced me to laugh and cry at the same time! WTF!
Kneeling while shredding a solo on a wah wah is outrageous
How bloody good is that solo!! I come back for it from time to time

Ocean Man is the first song I heard from them and I can't believe I discovered my favorite band ever from a meme
@@pissbaby7306 dude man, Ween have been my favorite band for 6 or 7 years and I'm still finding shit I fall in love with that I've never heard before. Such a great band.
This is the exact way I heard this song, at 3 in the morning before school and only hearing Ocean Man before listening to the whole album
Bro same
Lol first time I heard it was last night around 3

My first Red Rocks show. Love South Park and Primus, but we flew from Ohio for the Ween.
that Deaner sure can shred
Gene looks like a fish
he's on drugs
krushchilde
Of Course
Deaner does not need to be on drugs, he is naturally wired.. Beer and cigarettes.. !!
zaqqaz22 agreed, although alcohol is a drug.
What a drummer, what a underrated drummer
Yeah, CC is a master
There's no topping a band with a theremin.
See also: Led zeppelin (namely Jimmy Page on No Quarter.)
rolling stones, brian jones, many tunes
These people 😂responding in defense as if it wasn’t an opinion

I was at this show, and it remains one of the peak musical moments of my life.
i skipped all 3 of these shows to stay home smoke weed and play counterstrike...WHAT WAS I THINKING... i was thinking GOD DAMN IM STONED AND LAZY
South Park 25th anniversary brought me here😁

Saw that and then came here. That South Park show had them playing in front of some other legends. Must have really been a Rush for them.
in their prime easily one of the best live-bands of all time…
They still kick ass today
I saw them on 9-15-2016 in St. Paul. Seeing Buckingham Green live was maybe the greatest moment of my life.
Some Guy i was there too. I freaked out when they played it. I also loved the encore when they played don't get to close to my fantasy.
Saw them in Madison Wisconsin some, I dunno, 10 odd years ago and they opened with this as I shoved my way into the 2nd row. It was cathartic to say the least.
same in berkeley greek theater 2006 with flaming lips. and i had seen them in '97 in NYC and had all my senses blown.
They are ridiculously good live. Superhuman.

I love your boc profile pic
What are you talking about greatest guitar solo of all time. That was so simple and boring that even the most beginning of beginners could play it
@@mrwhosmynameagain To each his own. I'm not saying you mustn't worship your Yngwie J. Malmsteen anymore. Go ahead and bang that pumpkin!
Indeed on the solo.
Reminds me of Zappa short explosive solos from the Freak Out album.

also, that Strat Aaron is playing is FUCKING RAD.
+alex kay Aaron is playing a Les Paul. Mickey is playing a strat.
Deaner is playing a George Harrison Signtaure "Rocky" strat.
Stardate 2021: Still one of the best live bands of all time.
Please god help me see them live once in my life
Literally the best band ever, nice touch with the Theramin
Greatest solo I’ve every heard in my life
Ween is the best live band ever
primus
I dig this s*** tool is the best band to see live
Would life be worth living without Ween?
Stuck Inside of Mobile no
It's not either way.
Ween literally redeems this ""kino"" you call life
Pretty unbelievable that this only has so few vews. What like 5800 as of this post? Goes to show that people are so out of touch with how amazing real music can be if they dig to find it. And how under credited Ween really is.
Joshua Jones seriously....I'm from Texas and didn't find out who they really were until I was 17. I'm lucky I discovered them at all
Saw these guys live back in like 96 and I will never forget it, one if the my top ten live shows of all time and I've seen a lot of bands.
Seeing Ween live changed my life... for the better!
I love the Sasquatch stoner in the front row. Classic!
+bstabldvsl Thanks!
+bstabldvsl Thanks!

Whaddatalkinabeet
Ol' Jimmy Wilson sure does dance on this one.

I saw these guys twice in my life and it was just not enough. We all need more Ween in our lives.
This dvd was/is superbly done. These guys are fantastic.
Love it!!

The fans listen to this song like Gospel. And so do I...
When those drums kick in ...

Weeen & qotsa are the best live bands.
What started out as looking for Ocean Man has led me here
Soooooooooo good
The Boognish blesses us with sonic wealth and face melting solo power.
aaron is def twacked out but shines
Fucking phenomenal
Epic!
Fucking chills, man. Fucking chills.
Brooke on those lights! Looking good
Praise the Boognish and his sceptre of wealth and power.
Epic solo
Well, they sure can play live
Deaner was definitely talking about this 2:45
badass

Claude is so fucking good
Chris and Cole, I'm here for you also.
awh pal
17 blind folks just smashing the screen on their phone?
Gods
My cat is named "Deaner."
could you tell me what he was talking about?
They had to have been GIVEN this knowledge! Probably visited by aliens to have created such enlightening tunes.
Not aliens, the Golden Eel
Not the Golden Eel, the Boognish
the boognish visited them to spread to word of ween
When they were both kids they had a mushroom trip where they both saw Boognish and ever since then they knew they had to form Ween. I don’t remember where I heard this, but it’s a pretty brown story
is that a replica of george harrisons rocky I see?
When Deaner crouches, watch out, you know you're in for a complete brown-out.
Here again? Literally asking myself while texting. And yes Daniel I am..
So fucking legit.
What's the chord they are playing as soon as Gener says "Buckingham Green". The tabs don't seem right. It's Am F C Dm Em E, then what?
Is that a theremin?!
yeah
Is that what Deaner wuz talking about......
Watch this at 2x speed....
4 children without eyes...
why does Claude speed up so much when the drums come in? Always rushing, lol
This is the brownest thing I've ever seen
What year was this?
Thank you!
I only learned of them through Devin Townsend's cover of Transdermal Celebration.
Llewsab Ekim november 2003 actually
GO DEANER!!
did they get shot up after the show?
Sven Schneider what?
Nigga they already shot up
Clearly Sabbath inspired.
More like King Crimson.
The theremin in mutilated lips, as well as in this one, is under rated
WEEN > God/Satan
Yo deaner calm down
My cat can eat a whole watermelon,
I'm I the only one who has noticed that Gene has not aged well at all?
