Another great video! Looking forward to more from you, you’re essentially my goto for Shannara UA-cam videos, and hopefully that doesn’t stress you out too much-like I said, you’re doing great
+Patrick Burkholder heh. No quite the opposite it inspires me to do the best I can. And thanks for coming around, having people watch and comment is incredibly humbling. I am working on two more videos now! A Top 10 moments from the season 2 opener, and an answer to a question someone asked in the comments.
Netflix is full of money, and this shannara chronicles shares some similarities to lord of the rings and GOT, so the potential mkt can be very big with the right marketing. Plus, its based on the novel, already got structured, well planned epic storyline. Is there anything for us to do to bring Netflix attention to this show potential? Like an online petition or if we can find some ways to contact netflix.. anyone pls share ur opinion..
The best thing we can do right now is keep watching the show on Netflix and keep talking about it here, on twitter and Facebook. Netflix already knows about the show, and I imagine was one of the places it was shopped, so it isn’t about making them aware, It making them see it makes financial sense to save the show.
I know this series was uploaded years ago, but I have been going through the books again this year (I read them as a child in the 80's) and was wondering if there is a chapter by chapter or section by section review of each book. It would allow people to read a section, watch the video, and discuss it in the comments. I am listening to the books on audible and I am currently in the "Druid of Shannarra" heritage book. It would be a good way to really focus on the story and do more deep dive analysis for the nerds like us...LOL Anyway, great videos, and thank you for putting out awesome content.
+Joel Hinds ooh. Another vote for this one. Added to the list! Ow that I have a patreon page set up, patrons are voting on what deep dive videos I do next. Just putting it out there. :)
I’ve not read any of the Shannara book. Actually decided to start with running with the demon just because it sounded good. It’s reading like a YA. Just a few chapters in so hoping it gets better...
I was wondering if you're a fan of Terry Goodkinds The Sword of Truth novels? I can't get enough ever since watching the Legend of the Seeker TV series about 10 years ago.
+Noah Ross they are on the outside for the most part yes, but inside, different story. They are genetically different from us, which is why only those with elven blood (dna) can activate elven magical items, like the elfstones.
+Doris Hernandez that is a complicated answer. There are two orders that you can follow, the first is publish order, meaning read them according to when Terry Brooks wrote them. In this order you’ll be jumping back and forth in time. The second way is in story order, meaning you will read them in the order they fall in the over arching story. There are pluses and minuses to each approach, but I prefer the order they were written. This is the order Terry himself suggests for new readers: www.goodreads.com/series/99160-shannara---terry-s-suggested-order-for-new-readers And this is in publish order: www.goodreads.com/series/99085-shannara-publication-order Finally this story order: www.goodreads.com/series/99163-shannara---terry-s-suggested-reading-order-for-revisiting-readers
+Samuel Robertson heh. Hopefully I will be able to get on a more frequent schedule now. I’ll be doing review vids for each episode of season 2, along with these more in depth ones. I appreciate the sub!
From what time period? Shannara is set in our car future, after a cataclysm that reshapes the world, so from the perspective of the show/books, we’re the ancient humans.
+badgerman what I find the most interesting isn’t there they have been there all along, which is cool, but that they evolved away from what they were to be more like humans. Meaning, where did humans come from in the Shannara Universe?
hey no problem! Also now that you are here, i finished first season and thought of reading it, but not really a reading fan tbh, is the book series worth giving a try?
+Snøw I mean, that is a difficult question to answer. I think the books do a much better job of world building than the show does, or can really, given the limit of a series episode order. But if you aren’t a reading fan, it might be tedious to deal with all the world building! I guess I would say give it a try. They are easy books to read and have some really amazing moments in them. Just keep in mind, sword is the not the best of his work, but important to the books that come after. Just keep going until you have finished elsfstones. After elfstones you should know if you want to keep going. I hope that helps, and thanks again for stopping by!

It's great having someone that understands me thanks for what you doing for my favorite series
Glad you enjoy it!

That’s a fun idea. I’ll think about how I could do that and it be sustainable.
I very mush enjoyed you abridged version. It was informative and somewhat concise. Keep it up bro! I wanna see more
Thanks! I am wrapping up work in a Druid history video now, so there will be fresh content soon I swear!
Very informative! Would love to see a vid about the genesis of the Ellcrys!!!
Excellent. Consider your request noted!
Yes!

This channel is crazily good. Gonna share to other friends, support
Wow, thank you. It means a lot to hear that and I would be grateful for support. It’s been a slow burn to 1k.
I’ve not read any of the Shannara book. Actually decided to start with running with the demon just because it sounded good. It’s reading like a YA. Just a few chapters in so hoping it gets better...
It kind of is like YA, but not 100%. It gets way better. Nest Freemark is a pretty great character.
I was wondering if you're a fan of Terry Goodkinds The Sword of Truth novels? I can't get enough ever since watching the Legend of the Seeker TV series about 10 years ago.
I am a huge fan of a lot of the books, but near then end he just lost me. Too complicated for me.
the elves are basically humans but with pointy ears
+Noah Ross they are on the outside for the most part yes, but inside, different story. They are genetically different from us, which is why only those with elven blood (dna) can activate elven magical items, like the elfstones.
You are idi@t and cant find difference between two different race
Woo! Glad to have this one out. It seems I just can't keep myself from going overboard with these videos. Hopefully you guys enjoy the extra pizazz!
CJD Explains Been wanting to read the books since watching the series but I don't know the order. Can you tell the order of the books?.

Finally this story order: www.goodreads.com/series/99163-shannara---terry-s-suggested-reading-order-for-revisiting-readers
I just subscribed earlier today who knew a video would come out, this is my luck day
+Samuel Robertson heh. Hopefully I will be able to get on a more frequent schedule now. I’ll be doing review vids for each episode of season 2, along with these more in depth ones. I appreciate the sub!
I never read the Word & Void series. They are part of the Shannara story? I never realized that. Have to go back and read them now.....
Think of them as prequels. The story of the fall of our world, that leads to Shannara. They Are great books.
Loved this !!!
Cessseeezy Gaming thanks! I appreciate it.
Can you do a vid about electria and about her being half demon
Sure. It’s a storyline that was created for the show, that remixes bits and pieces from other books. I’ll add it to my list.
CJD Explains ok thanks 👍🏾
Another great video!
+Avenger-and-proud thanks! I appreciate it!
Nice job
+Samuel Robertson thanks, I really appreciate it.
very good explaination
+Official Filmilen thanks! It was a lot of fun to make. I appreciate you taking the time to watch!
Yes I want to know what happened a long time ago the elves ,can we see them again
The video basically gives you a condensed version of their history within the Shannara mythos. Is there something else you wanted to see?
I really want to know what the Ancient Humans are and what happened to them
From what time period? Shannara is set in our car future, after a cataclysm that reshapes the world, so from the perspective of the show/books, we’re the ancient humans.
yes
Lol gimli became an elf, xD his travels with legolas had converted him xD
This is perfect. I needed a chuckle today, so thanks for that.
Nice video
+luka speelt spellen thanks, I appreciate it.
CJD Explains no problem mate
Season 3
What are the white's wisps
I think you’re comment was cut off! I’m not sure what you are asking.
You mean wights and wisps.
Thank God, I am an elf. I would hate to be a pathetic human being full of greed and appetite for nothing but destruction.
Well, we also love dominating other species, and from time to time, music, art and poetry.
Irony, right? The elves demonstrate plenty of greed and destruction in both the show and the books, too.
They're from Vulcan and a Vulcan colony ship crash on Earth. Live Long and Prosper 🖖
That would definitely take the story in a new, interesting direction.
more action
Give us the gene’s is lol
So they always existed
+badgerman yep, that is it in a nutshell.
+badgerman what I find the most interesting isn’t there they have been there all along, which is cool, but that they evolved away from what they were to be more like humans.
Meaning, where did humans come from in the Shannara Universe?
@@CJDExplains Where humans came from is the same as in the real world, since it's a version of the real world and not a secondary world setting.
Lord of the Rings: 1954
Sword of Shannara: 1977
Quick answer: Terry Brooks ripped off Tolkien, just like 95% of fantasy writers.
Terry admitted as much with Sword of Shannara. From Elfstones on it’s pretty clear he was blazing his own path, while still being inspired by Tolkien.
first
Snøw wow. My first... “first” on something. You made my day. Literally. Thanks.
hey no problem!
Also now that you are here, i finished first season and thought of reading it, but not really a reading fan tbh, is the book series worth giving a try?
