Netflix is full of money, and this shannara chronicles shares some similarities to lord of the rings and GOT, so the potential mkt can be very big with the right marketing. Plus, its based on the novel, already got structured, well planned epic storyline. Is there anything for us to do to bring Netflix attention to this show potential? Like an online petition or if we can find some ways to contact netflix.. anyone pls share ur opinion..
The best thing we can do right now is keep watching the show on Netflix and keep talking about it here, on twitter and Facebook.
Netflix already knows about the show, and I imagine was one of the places it was shopped, so it isn’t about making them aware, It making them see it makes financial sense to save the show.

+Noah Ross they are on the outside for the most part yes, but inside, different story. They are genetically different from us, which is why only those with elven blood (dna) can activate elven magical items, like the elfstones.

I know this series was uploaded years ago, but I have been going through the books again this year (I read them as a child in the 80's) and was wondering if there is a chapter by chapter or section by section review of each book. It would allow people to read a section, watch the video, and discuss it in the comments. I am listening to the books on audible and I am currently in the "Druid of Shannarra" heritage book. It would be a good way to really focus on the story and do more deep dive analysis for the nerds like us...LOL
Anyway, great videos, and thank you for putting out awesome content.

I’ve not read any of the Shannara book. Actually decided to start with running with the demon just because it sounded good. It’s reading like a YA. Just a few chapters in so hoping it gets better...
It kind of is like YA, but not 100%. It gets way better. Nest Freemark is a pretty great character.
I was wondering if you're a fan of Terry Goodkinds The Sword of Truth novels? I can't get enough ever since watching the Legend of the Seeker TV series about 10 years ago.
I am a huge fan of a lot of the books, but near then end he just lost me. Too complicated for me.

CJD Explains Been wanting to read the books since watching the series but I don't know the order. Can you tell the order of the books?.
+Doris Hernandez that is a complicated answer. There are two orders that you can follow, the first is publish order, meaning read them according to when Terry Brooks wrote them. In this order you’ll be jumping back and forth in time. The second way is in story order, meaning you will read them in the order they fall in the over arching story.
There are pluses and minuses to each approach, but I prefer the order they were written.

I never read the Word & Void series. They are part of the Shannara story? I never realized that. Have to go back and read them now.....
Think of them as prequels. The story of the fall of our world, that leads to Shannara. They Are great books.

From what time period? Shannara is set in our car future, after a cataclysm that reshapes the world, so from the perspective of the show/books, we’re the ancient humans.

Quick answer: Terry Brooks ripped off Tolkien, just like 95% of fantasy writers.
Terry admitted as much with Sword of Shannara. From Elfstones on it’s pretty clear he was blazing his own path, while still being inspired by Tolkien.

Also now that you are here, i finished first season and thought of reading it, but not really a reading fan tbh, is the book series worth giving a try?
+Snøw I mean, that is a difficult question to answer. I think the books do a much better job of world building than the show does, or can really, given the limit of a series episode order.
But if you aren’t a reading fan, it might be tedious to deal with all the world building! I guess I would say give it a try. They are easy books to read and have some really amazing moments in them.
Just keep in mind, sword is the not the best of his work, but important to the books that come after. Just keep going until you have finished elsfstones. After elfstones you should know if you want to keep going.
