I baught stainless steel grill grates from Amazon Netherlands. Manufacturer is Only Fire. It's a 2 pack and I only use one. The description says its a replacement for a Tepro Toronto. Size in Centimeters: 41.7 x 27.7. This is in inches 16.4 x 10.9.
If I was in the market for a portable, I'd consider this one. The only drawback, which I think you covered in a previous video, is the charcoal/ash capacity. I wouldn't mind adding more charcoal, but if they had a way to sweep out the ash on the go, that would be great. It would likely add $100 to the price, but how about a temp probe and controller like the Auto Kamado has? All things considered; I like it.
@TomHorsmanAmateurBBQ Thank you Tom. I am thinking the chinsy factory grate with the small openings are for keeping the heat in at lower operating temps. I have a cast iron grate that I am going to try.
Great 1 year review! Personally, I don't think it looks too bad for a year-old charcoal machine, but can you make a guess as to how many times you have used it in the past year? Looking forward to your future mods!
another great video Tom. I'm seriously considering this grill as I have very limited balcony space. two questions pls. 1. love the custom spray job. did you sandpaper the black paint before respraying? 2. wrt smoke flavour is this grill, because you can add wood chunks to the fire box, better than other portable pellet grills? in your opinion.
Thanks for Watching Donald! Yes, I sanded to bare metal, used high heat engine block paint. This is charcoal, not pellets so the smoke profile will be different.
Hey Tom, Been watching your always top quality entertainment and very very very informative. I'm across the pond in the UK. Just bought a motorhome, you guys would call it a RV. I love to cook on charcoal or briquettes, never been a big fan of a gas grill. I don't think they get the same flavour from the meat. Love the look of this grill. Just wondering does the flavour of cooking over a normal charcoal grill come through in the food, or because there is no charcoal directly under the food does the food taste ore like that cooked on a gas grill? I 'm guessing what I really want to ask you is, if you had an RV what would you take with you. This Masterbuilt? The Weber Portable gas grill? or something else completely? Cheers Rich Lloyd. Keep up the good work and the great vids
Thanks for Watching Rich! For the RV lifestyle I like the Blackstone tailgater / half griddle half gas grill with legs that fold down for easy transport. I also have a tripod with 30” grill grate that I use over the camp Fire….ua-cam.com/video/oCJFKO-16a8/v-deo.html
@@TomHorsmanAmateurBBQ I’m looking to buy this grill for our camping trailer. I believe it can be powered with a normal electrical cord correct? Also, it does cook indirect the same way all the other gravity series does correct?
Seeing this 1yr later. Totally not impressed given the name of the company and what they do. The core quality of things is kinda bad. This is a product to avoid for sure. And they fact they make that stupid green egg for 1400$ is a GIANT waste of money.
Fired my MB portable today. Seven year old grandson cooked a couple of Nathan's hot dogs! I have great hopes for this little unit.
Thanks for Watching Dave! Enjoy!
Just bought one without the cart at lowes for $79.
Thanks for watching! Congrats!
Tom, you're killing me. Now I gotta make a homemade pizza! Great 1-year review!
Thanks Jim! Appreciate you Watching!
I have a new masterbuilt charcoal grill. Used it for the first time and it would not go past 320 degrees. Would you know why.
Thanks for Watching Pat! Did you remove the sliders before starting?
can we get a video like this on the nexgrill oakford 790 please?
Thanks for watching!

I bought cast iron grates for mine from Amazon US. It was a replacement for NextGrill. I like them because they have a smoke side and a sear side.

Great video Tom, thanks.
Thanks for Watching Bill!
Hello Tom. My curiosity is getting the best of me. What kind of results have you had after replacing the grate with the cast iron grate? Bill.
Thanks for Watching! Cast Iron is always better…

If I don’t get the stand does the bottom part where the controller is get hot or can it be on like a plastic table?
Thanks for watching! I wouldn’t put it on anything that could catch fire
How’s it do with ribs/ brisket and stuff?
Thanks for watching! I’ve done ribs successfully, never tried Brisket
Love mine! One I had to add to my collection
Thanks for Watching Kevin!

Thanks for watching Jim! Maybe 10-15 times, lots of choices in the land of grills
@@TomHorsmanAmateurBBQThanks…will never be able to keep up…only have 5 to choose from!

I'm sad. You inspired me to do this, but my pizza stone is too large. It's all good though.
Thanks for watching! Sorry to hear that
Mine keeps catching fire, I tried cleaning it but it’s really not all that greasy. Kinda worrisome. Guess I’ll
Just stick with charcoal.
Thanks for watching Jimmie! Never had a fire issue, just need to keep it clean
@@TomHorsmanAmateurBBQ Neither did I

Hey Tom do you know what USB cord to get for a battery pack for this smoker?
Thanks for Watching Charles,, sorry, I do not
ua-cam.com/video/jk5L6yszpMg/v-deo.htmlsi=K7Q74EtLC7kKPmX3
It’s a 6V plug into the grill. I bought a usb to 6V cord.
Thought I bought it off Amazon, but I couldn’t find a link
what gauge you get?
Thanks for Watching Charles! Not sure what it is you are referring to
@@TomHorsmanAmateurBBQ the temp gauge on the front, sorry.
