Looks like it does what it’s supposed to….a little pricey for some……great video, Tom, waiting to see Masterbuilts new gravity series at $1499…..again a bit pricey!
I am amazed at how fast it responded to and maintained your temperature settings. I concur with your assessment, need more real estate inside. That sear plate on top of the charcoal box is a winner, just wish it was bigger.
They will take care of you, I think their customer service is pretty darn good, my 1050 came with a dent in the front shelf and I took a picture of it like they asked, sent it to them and four days later a new complete front shelf kit was at my front door
Another great review, thanks Tom! I've been hoping they'd put the Char-Griller heat diffuser setup in the XT, so this makes me optimistic. If so, I think that'll be the king of the hill when it finally makes it to the shelves. Can't wait!
Did you end up going through the "seasoning" process or is that unnecessary? I noticed Masterbuilt recommended running the grill at 250, oiling the grates, then running at 350 before cooking with it. I just ordered my 545 and will be receiving it tomorrow...found your video while searching for general info about this grill so I could become somewhat familiar with it before assembling. I decided to finally ditch gas grills to give this one a shot as I've always preferred BBQ'ing w/charcoal. Thanks for posting this video.
Cooking with pellets and charcoal which is less expensive? Seems like there would be a taste difference. Been using pellet grill for several years now after switch from propane. Love smoking meat. In the market for a new one and looking hard at the Bullseye, but this gives review gives me pause.
Hey Tom. As always a great video. As you have shown The Middleby Corporation has cut corners again by putting in not only a flimsy rack but one that doesn't go all the way to the front. You know who loves The Middleby Corporation cutting conners????? Luke from LSS Mods. I am sure that we will be seeing some new products from him as flaws from the design start to emerge. I do agree, I think that the Char-Griller Gravity is on the way out. I love mine though!
Thanks for watching! I do like the 560, however it is being discontinued and being replaced with the new 600. I would take either of these over the 564
I have the Gravity Series 800. Can you shut off the burn in the hopper when finished or does it burn through all of the charcoal? Are there airflow cutoff plates like the 560/800?
Thr 545 looks great improvement to the previous model. No need to seal the firebox and the heat is directly inside the cooking chamber. Should be more reliable.
Not true about the left over charcoal getting wasted..I have a galvanized Steel Locking Lid Storage Can, 6-Gallons bought at Walmart... remove the leftover into that can and kaboom..use it again...
Your garage is an amusement park for bbq fanatics. Love the channel!
Thank you for Watching! Appreciate your support

@Rbouch Thanks for watching! You are correct $1400 is a bit pricey
Oh man.. your channel always cost me money.. you are great for these companies
Thanks for Watching! Appreciate the feedback

Thanks Ted! I agree

Thanks for Watching Harold!
Love to see a head to head between this and the Tahoma 900. Space is not comparable but they are close in price, unlike the Masterbuilt XT
Thanks for Watching Matt! Time will tell….

Thanks for watching! I did a burn in with some oil on the cast iron 325 for an hour will work. Enjoy!
Is it okay to put some wood in the hopper with your coals?
Thanks for watching! Yes
Great review Tom! Always honest and straightforward! Cheers 🍻
Thank you!
Just bought mine (home depot assembled) - great video
Thanks for Watching David! Enjoy!
Very thorough review this might be my new BBQ I will be purchasing.
Thanks for watching!

Thanks for watching! Not sure which is less expensive, the pellets are more efficient but you get more taste with charcoal, in my opinion
Another great review Tom. I’m gonna wait till Masterbuilt takes your advise and makes the breadbox style adding a third rack 😂😂
Thanks for Watching! Lol

Thanks for watching! LSS does a great job.
Paint it the blue like the old 560. I miss that one. Are you planning on testing the 600 & the XT?
Thanks for Watching! The 600 for sure, not sure yet on the XT
Great video. Have you ever done a video on just grills you don’t like, sounds kinda interesting
Thanks for Watching Gary! Appreciate the feedback and idea!
Man. Looks like the best steak. Smoke and grill fast.
Thanks for watching!
Can wheels be added to the front legs to provide more mobility?
Thanks for watching! Haven’t tried that, but I’m sure you could
Tom, I'm completely torn between this and the 560. I just can't decide, which one do you think is the better buy?
Thanks for watching! I do like the 560, however it is being discontinued and being replaced with the new 600. I would take either of these over the 564
What's a 564?
lol, 560
Is the cast iron top preseasoned?
Thanks for watching! It is not

Thanks for watching Michel! No sliders, all that you put in will burn
Another great review! Thanks Neighbor:)
Thanks for watching! Neighbor?
We live in the same general area😊
Great review. Thanks Tom
Thanks for watching!

Thanks for watching! Agreed
Great review!!
Thanks Eric!
Can’t wait until you review the new Masterbuilt xt Tom.
Thanks for watching! Me too!
Me too!
thanks!
Now I want steak 🥩
Thanks for watching Chris!
Not true about the left over charcoal getting wasted..I have a galvanized Steel Locking Lid Storage Can, 6-Gallons bought at Walmart... remove the leftover into that can and kaboom..use it again...
Thanks for watching! Interesting.. do you pull out the fire box and dump it in? I’ve noticed that after a cook there usually isn’t much worth saving
Why are we becoming so lazy, almost to the point of stupidity? I prefer using a traditional charcoal grill; it's a simpler process and more enjoyable.
lol!!! Have a nice day!
Same, but who cared how people cook. You do you and move on
Thanks for watching! Agreed
Looks like it's flimsy and cheapfully made!
Thanks for Watching Harry! There are parts that are flimsy, like the top grill rack
