- In the Northwest Territories in Canada, many settlements are dependent on supplies from the air. A short gravel runway often serves as a connection to the rest of the world. And this is where the legendary 60-plus or even 80-plus-year-old transport aircraft such as the Lockheed L-188 Electra or the Curtiss C-46 from Buffalo Airways come into play. They supply the remote villages with everything they need by air from Yellowknife. Aviation George (Hans Georg Buergi) talks about this with Mikey McBryan, General Manager of Buffalo Airways.

Great to see Mikey and Buffalo again! 😊
I love to see Buffalo Airlines still operating and Mickey taking up more and more responsibility.

There was something about that they are military aircraft but isn't there any chance to convert as it has been done with the war birds?
And the next question would be: Why selling good cl 215s overseas if they still have use for it and buying other ones?
Hugs from Austria and big thanks to Mikey and his family for making Ice pilots possible and happening!

Dollar for dollar, the air tractor can put down much more water than the CL415
CL-415 superscooper drops 5300 liters and costs around 30 million
Air Tractor fire boss drops 2700 liters and cost around 3.3 million
That about nine air tractors for the price of one CL415
