Hey I’m Josh from Adelaide, South Australia. I'm a proud father of 3 and passionate about heavy music.
I was the bass player for post-hardcore/alternative rock group Capulet from 2004-2012, releasing an album, EP and several demos.
Capulet were signed to Red Bull and the Taperjean Music Group alongside Closure in Moscow and The Mission in Motion.
Highlights of my music career were playing with amazing bands like Anberlin, Emery, Scary Kids Scaring Kids, Haste the Day, Awaken I Am, and touring Australia several times.
I wasn’t the most technical bass player, but lived for performing on stage. I have always loved the process of song writing and the visual art that accompanies music.

This is not the first person I've seen to say that exact line. I love how they have created music that hits all of us in that way.
It completely fascinates me that so many people at the end of the day seem to have the same requirements to ‘feel’ this music - it feels almost like a supernatural connection that we have the exact same spiritual preferences
This thoroughly summed up how I feel about this band, it's the words I've been looking for since I discovered them!
This album really is an experience. Not since Periphery have I heard a band transcend genres and completely turn songs into a journey. It's outta this world what Vessel created.

I can say for certain we will never experience an album like this ever again in our lives. The three album buildup to this cannot be replicated.

For me the only band that comes close is Periphery. They do the same thing with all of the call backs.

I love the way you go quiet for a minute or two then just pop up with "This is INCREDIBLE"
You could tell you were just taken away and so engulfed in the song
Sleep Token's music is special and therapeutic for alot of people, Vessel's voice is unreal and his songwriting is poetic. The album is a life changing experience from start to finish. Worship.

When you said that it was powerful, I was already mid tears. This bands music hits me deep in my bones. Awesome reaction, I love how you’re just so stunned by its beauty!
This album has literally made my brain explode. Just when you think they can’t get any better they just keep on raising the bar. This album and band will always have a special place in my heart, out of this world and the anonymity/mystery is the cherry on the top.
Also to add - I didn’t realise until I looked at the lyrics for this, in the outro of the last chorus before the breakdown, the first 3 lines from Chokehold are quoted, so so clever to make that link.

Knew them from before though w/ older singles but this album hits hard! An emotional rollercoaster
I started honing my singing skills because of Vessel. I love him, his band and the masterpiece that they share with the world. We all feel what he feels and we know what it's like. Worship!
The Adelaide gig was really awesome, sound was great even off to the sides and it felt like you were close to the stage. Definitely made me feel like it was worth the 8 hours each way from Melbourne, I was a little worried in the queue to get in that it would be uncomfortably tight but was a great night.

Album of the Year mate
It is for me so far - it’s going to have to be pretty special to beat this and I can’t see that happening at the moment
I always think to myself - well, this is it, they reached their peak. Somehow, there's always a higher one to reach. And the song Ascensionalism is not only a great example but also symbolic in my eyes. The sky is the limit for Sleep Token, they'll always ascend and deliver.

I remember back in the 90's when I was deep into Limp Bizkit and my hiphop friends would trash Fred Durst's rapping hard. Now, I have always been more into music than lyrics, so I was like "what, his flow is pretty good?". It's not that I don't enjoy good lyrics, I just automatically filter them out when they are bad. But yeah, once I actually listened to the words he was saying, these are some kindergarden level bars.
