    When he says “the night belongs to YOU” and the full band kicks in…it feels like he’s either finally completing the lyrics from TNDNBTG or else revising it light of the journey he’s been on. Also, as someone who is prone to bouts of nihilism, listening to that moment feels to me like Vessel encouraging me with hope. Yet it doesn’t come across as corny. This song is very special to me.

    • @frostfang1
      @frostfang1 11 місяців тому +20

      yes not corny, telling us the choice is ours, not his or anyone elses. that having that choice at all is hope. And whatever he does, it is not on us to follow his path. We can make our own way in the dark, wherever his voice may be coming from, no matter what moon or stars might illuminate a path, or be obscured by a canopy of trees.

      @@vincelatulippe0804 sure man. So the three albums, Sundowning, This Place Will Become Your Tomb, and now Take Me Back to Eden appear to be a Trilogy. The tune that you hear at the end of Euclid is the song that begins Sundowning, so it all circles back. Sundowning is an amazing album by the way. I've loved just about everything they've done. Also, take me back to Eden has a lot of callback references to other songs on that album and their discography so they're nice little easter eggs for us hardcore Sleep Token fans. Worship 🖤
    Edit: 10:32 That look when the realization kicks in of the circle looping right back to where we began is where I started crying. Also when you said you weren't too great with lyrics, Vessel directly says in the breakdown right before the rest of the band kicks in, he says "The night belongs to you", which is also a direct callback to The Night Does Not Belong To God, and he also says right after that: "This bough has broken through", which is another direct callback to a song of theirs from their very first EP called "When The Bough Breaks". Vessel is an incredible lyricist. Absolutely incredible.

    This is one of those instances where you can enjoy an album without having heard anything else by the artists. But having heard those previous projects on repeat for years through life tragedies, mental breakdowns, grief, having shared with lovers who’ve you lossed, and many nights n’ days of hardships.. having held such sentimental value to such art and you get an ending like Euclid, a song that takes all those years and almost breaks any form of chains that the sorrow n’ pain that were wrapped around you once existed.. it’s almost an religious experience. It’s almost as if the soul is being healed and restored to finally let go of what feels like we’ve been drowning in for so long. I love music, have been touched by only a handful of songs, but nothing has moved me as much as this song. Master class as always from the Sleepy boiz

    This song has me sobbing, especially with the “do you remember me?…. For me it’s still the autumn leaves…” and so on. I have many fond memories of my time with my ex. Not just in autumn, but generally certain pillars of memories. And then the “the night belongs to you” I wish I could just stop being in my mind all the time and having that relationship in my mind. Especially at night.. there is not much to distract someone when they try to sleep. Or you even dream about someone. That line said everything I am feeling. Then going back to the lyrics of TNDNBTG - when he sings about all the tenderness. And knowing that this person was not for him. No matter what it felt like and still does. Even though they still creep up in your mind. Even though you would bring heaven down for them but you cannot have them either way. Coming back to TMBTE (song) “and no amount of love will keep it around if we don’t choose it” this album had me f*cked up good. Broke up in December, went to UK to escape my feelings and see Sleep Token live in January, not knowing this would be a whole album closing the circle on this bitter story. Now I am sitting here being forced in a way and also helped through my feelings of that break up 6 months ago. What a journey.

    WORSHIP! As someone who grew up in church and has since left it, I cry every time I hear this song. I wandered lost for so long and have only recently begun to find myself again. Losing my religion has been very difficult. This entire trilogy by Sleep Token tells of Vessel's rebirth. I feel like I see my own life in it as well. I am experiencing my own Euclid and it feels like worship! Since this album came out, I begin every day by listening to all three albums in their entirety.

    This song is the best culmination/trilogy end i have ever experienced. There's a somber optimism. Acknowledging all the pain through the trials of life but hopeful for the future. No matter how many times i hear it i get those feelings and emotions. I can't not sing it as loud as I possibly can. Thank you for bringing us all on this journey with you. It has been an absolute pleasure my dear friend. Much love. Always. ❤️🫂

    Thanks for doing this reaction Chase. I had a feeling you would find it emotional. I've revealed it before on another reaction channel that I only just managed to keep it together in Ascensionism, Are You Really OK nearly broke me but Euclid, the happiest sounding song on the album, totally broke me and made me weep like a child! I've still not figured out why exactly. Is it the call backs? "The night belongs to you." "This bough has broken through." Or the rendition of "The Night Does Not Belong To God." Not sure what it is but it hits me hard everytime! Stay safe 🤘 ✌️

    For such a long time….me and my now fiancé have never truly been able to find a song the described or really spoke to us in a way that we felt unified and made us feel for each other. And we have both been fans of sleep token before we met each other. Euclid is the song we managed to find for the first time that we both cried to when TNDNBTG melody came in. Sleep token has been such a big part of ours lives as a separate people….and now it has brought us together as a whole. The two of us. And knowing how big of an impact it’s had with you and your other half is just such an amazing thought. Thank you so unbelievably much for your thoughts and expressions on this song.     Huge realization;
    Euclid, the father of geometry, used geometry to map the stars. Stars are old, one might say “ancient”.
    The night sky is a beautiful black canvas lit and intertwined with stars that hangs above us, like a canopy.
    “These ancient canopies”
    Blacklit Canopy.
    If you know you know.
    Worship.

    For people who will never know Vessel's previous project, just know that on top of all the ST callbacks and interweaving he does, he also hid the name of that previous project in the lyrics and has lyrical/melodic callbacks to those songs. This is the competition of a very, very long journey. Thank you for this, Chase. I nearly cry every time I hear this one.

What they have accomplished with this trilogy is incredible, the story while being a tragedy is so beautiful. Vessel leaves his heart and soul in every song and has a way of being so raw and visceral while also being eloquent. Would recommend to anyone who enjoys music and wanted to spend some time with their feelings to listen to the three albums start to finish. Much love from Barbados 🇧🇧

    There’s only ever been three bands that have broken through my wall of emotions to choke me up or shed a tear. Lorna Shore, Caskets, and now Sleep Token with this track. The amount of times I’ve listened to Sundowing and especially the first track TNDNBTG. Most of the time not really intentionally, I’d just always start the album from the beginning. This track surprised the emotions right out of me with that call back. Can’t wait to see this reaction. Curious if you caught it. I’m gonna bet you did. Much appreciated.

    There’s a deep connection to Alchemy in their songs. Euclid’s AXIOMS AND POSTULATES seem to go with this song very well. In my opinion.
    Axioms:
    Things which are equal to the same thing are also equal to one another.
    If equals be added to equals, the wholes are equal.
    If equals be subtracted from equals, the remainders are equal.
    Things which coincide with one another are equal to one another.
    The whole is greater than the part.
    POSTULATES
    To draw a straight line from any point to any point.
    To produce a finite straight line continuously in a straight line.
    To describe a circle with any center and distance.
    That all right angles are equal to one another.
    That if a straight line falling on two straight lines makes the interior angles on the same side less than two right angles, the straight lines, if produced indefinitely, will meet on that side on which the angles are less that two right angles.*
