Remington fazed out the 11-87 and most 1100 models, all but the 1100 sporting, and it's the exact same gun as the old Remington 11-87 premier I believe they even utilize the old light contour barrels that a lot of the premiers came with

The 1187 takes 3and a half inch shell dubble o buckhot 19 pellets no 4 buck shot has 54 pellets inter changeable chokes with a rifled chock using 3. And half inch sug commander I’d light field one ounce slugs they travel At 1900 feet per second it will fly strate as an arrow to 125 yards then it will drop 2 inches 4 inches at 170 yards 6 inches at 200 yards extent all round gun ps one deer season i nocked down 2 big ass bucks with one shot still can’t belive it and neither can my uncle that just goes to show you the power of that gun firing a slug 10:40

My Dupont 11-87 Police Model is solid. Runs like a sewing machine with Federal 00 buck and slugs. Softest shotgun I've ever shot.

The 11-87 is a better shotgun because of its reliability. 1100 can't handle fast steel as does the 11-87. I've owned 3 11OOs and 2 11-87s
different is the 1100 has two small gas port and the 1187 has one big gas port.
