- Gorges State Park is located in western North Carolina near Cashiers & is home to many waterfalls. One the eastern side of the park is Frozen Creek Access which provides trails to many primitive campsites. This side of the park is significantly less traveled due to the rugged terrain.
Wintergreen Falls can be accessed via Auger Hole Road. It is a 162ft waterfall on the remote reaches of the Toxaway River. It will be a long day for anyone hoping to see the falls as the round trip will exceed 10mi. Not to mention lots of bushwhacking & dangerous river wading along the final stretch.
Beautiful...I need to put this one on my list! Thanks for sharing. 🧡
Snakes, yellow jackets, nudists… Sounds like an adventure! 😂
Never know what you'll find out there
How difficult you reckon it'd be to reach the top of the falls from there? Any portages?
I’ve been to the top of the falls multiple times. You can reach the top by bushwhacking along either side from the bottom. Kayakers will run these falls when the water is up
@@IraFowler3 Awesome, thanks man
