"WhoCrashed, automatic crash dump analyzer" may help. Last version did no longer install on my system, though.
In event viewer I got a bunch of error messages about Skype which I don't even use and on the reliability monitor I have a bunch of other ones about LockApp. My laptop randomly freezes often actually and when it does my solution is to do a Control Alt Delete.
For a while there I was randomly losing internet connection even though when checking wifi it said I was on it. But I couldn't use anything and my email had a continuous error message at the top saying 'offline' or something like that. I got lucky one night when calling my ISP and got a really friendly, helpful and diligent techie. He troubleshot for and with me til he figured it out. Unfortunately (or maybe fortunately idk) it was a back door fix.

I dont have Windows as my old laptops cannot run it lol. Wife has windows will keep this info in mind.

in this time of year i would first check cpu cooling. also windows ntfs file system is crap , one unregular power off is all it takes to brick it. ask me how i know.
sfc /scannow works every time.
