Hail, Hail the Father of Rock 'N Roll!!! On this day in 1955 {August 20th} "Maybellene" by Chuck Berry entered Billboard's Top 100 chart; eventually it peaked at #5 and spent 11 weeks on the Top 100... It was the first of his twenty seven records to make Billboard's Top 100 chart... And on the very day it entered the Top 100 it reached #1 {for 11 weeks} on Billboard's R&B Best Sellers Singles chart... And the great Mr. Berry will celebrate his 87th birthday in two months on October 18th...
This may be a dumb question, but forgive me. Question is, does anybody know if there's a studio version of the song where it includes that last verse? "Peeped in the mirror at the top of the hill; was just like swallowing up a medicine pill. First thing I saw was a Cadillac grille doing 110 droppin' over that hill! Uphill curve, a downhill stretch, me and that Cadillac was neck and neck!"
Just love that guitar solo from 1:45. The true king of rock'n'roll....
Chuck is a Badass king of Rock. Rest in peace

People can play guitar, but Chuck Berry and Duane Allman could make a guitar talk.
Love the solo
That head roll at 2:39 is all you need to know-the guy had so much feeling in his playing.
It's obvious Marty McFly was a huge influence to his sound and moves.
One of the founding fathers...
