I know this is an old video but I'm so grateful for you! My washer died completely and thought I'd have to spend a lot of money or just buy a new washer. I turned to UA-cam and there you were. Whew! Now, none of our contacts were corroded but we followed your instructions and cleaned them anyway and it worked 😄 thank you so much!!

You are a true American hero. Corporations seek to screw the little guy, but you saved me from buying a new washer or paying hundreds in repair fees. This year has been rough. I lost my girlfriend, I watched a lot of people die from Covid-19 at my job. My tire blew out yesterday and I had to replace all four. Today my washer gave me the e2f6 error code and I thought "God hates me. Now I have to buy a new washer." Then I found your video and I followed your steps. Now I have clean clothes. The little things keep me going. May God bless you and your loved ones!

Sir, I can't thank you enough for this video. My wife and I were on the way to buy a new one @ $700 or so, when I wanted to try one more thing. That was to watch a video on these models. One wipe of the board with alcohol and back to new. OMG. Thanks again!!!

Thank you so much you saved me $745.on repairs or go by a new one an my united is only 3yrs old. An I use it only once a week.i live along. Did just as you did. Cleaned the board.cleared the codes. Put all back together an tap the start bottom an I was up an running. I put the 419D coating on it from Amazon. It costs me nothing because I had Amazon points to cover the 419D coating. A tec call out would have cost me 150.00 then add the parts taxes it would have been around $750. OR more. It cost me nothing .thank you so much an I saved it from going into the landfill. An so many peeps get taken for something so easy you can do this.watch this volg an share it. Thank you.

    Sir,
I have 5 children which amounts to LOTS of laundry! We have been struggling in general lately and having my washer quit on me just pushed me over the edge and into tears. Your video helped me to help myself! I am not mechanically inclined and have a lot of hand shakiness and your instructions and demonstration of everything helped me to overcome all of that!! You keep it simple, honest, and concise. God bless you and thank you so much-- you not only helped me fix my washing machine and save money that I didn't have to begin with, you helped me feel comfortable and confident enough to take on the repair!!! My 15 year old daughter helped me and she said that you rock and how awesome it is that you shared your knowledge!!! Again, thank you!!!!!!

I can't tell you how many times I've watched this to fix my washer. This has saved me so much money. First time it happened called a repairman, charged me 70$ and was gone in 10 minutes. Never said anything about the fix. Next time it happened I turned to good Ole You Tube. Buying the Acrylic this time though

Spent 45 minutes waiting to schedule an appointment with Maytag. I ended up being hung up on, 😢.. Even went online to see there were no appointments for 28 days. That was a blessing in disguise. I watched your video, followed the instructions and now I am washing a load of laundry. Thank you so very much. I work in a hospital and I have to wash my scrubs daily. You have saved me time and money and I appreciate that, thank you.

Just like many of the comments before me, this video saved quite a bit of money and aggravation. This is clearly a defect that I hope Maytag fixes on future machines. This fix literally took 15 minutes. Cleaned connectors as instructed. Machine works like new. Thanks so much for posting this video.

When I plugged back in it still had the error codes blinking but I followed your steps to reset and now it's working fine. If I get the codes again I'll take apart as in your video and clean and coat the contacts. Have a wonderful day.

My washer in particular wasn't getting an error code at all. I would turn it on and it just wouldn't let me do anything else. No cycle selection, no start, just power on, and power off. I recently had to go back in for a cleaning because the start button was acting funny again and couldn't remember how to get the top off the washer. And let me say I'm glad I found this video. Your solution to prevent having to do this again was a god send. I was using electrical tape to cover the opening, but it wasn't foolproof forever obviously. I applied that coating (but still put the tape back over the opening for the wire and the connector) and this thing is running as good as new! Thanks!

I just wanted to say thank you for your video. I'm recently widowed and things seems to need repair left and right. I followed your tutorial, took my machine apart myself and while it didn't look particularly corroded....cleaned it with the alcohol. Turned it back on and the error was gone! Thank you, thank you! Thank you very much for your video. Had a repairman come and look at my machine and he wanted to take it to his shop. He said he suspected it was the sensor but he could better diagnose it in his shop. It made me think he did not want me to see him doing what you showed in your video because how could he then justify his $150 estimate! You saved me a hefty bill.

Thank you so much! Have had our machine since 2018. This has happened twice. The first time was this past July, and we were leaving for a week vacation the next day. we called the repair man and when he got there, he looked at the error code and said “it’s dead”. He said with the amount it would cost to fix it we should just get a new one. Luckily he didn’t charge us a service fee. He said “I was never here” and left. We immediately ordered the new one and scheduled it to arrive the day after we returned from vacation. When we got home from vacation, I accidentally hit the poser button when moving the machine and it came on. We canceled the new order and it’s been working fine for 2 months now. Tonight it happened again mid-cycle. Just stopped and showed the code. I followed this video and I currently have a load of clothes in the wash now! THANK YOU AGAIN!

This video right here saved me a ton of time and money!!! When I pulled the cover apart I noticed the dark spots on the 4 contacts (see the video) and was already thing that this couldn't be good. The 4 smaller contacts were pretty much corroded together. His instruction on how to clean the 6 copper contacts was spot on. I had to use a piece of hard plastic to get a lot of the corrosion off and used rubbing alcohol to clean all of it off the board.

So I went to you tube yours was the first to come up. I was shocked when I seen same model same error codes.
Needless to say it worked. I nvr used the clear code sequence it seemed it being unplugged they reset themselves. It’s been 2wks now. I’m a happy man and like the rest of the comments I read THANK YOU.

Your video popped up in my feed and i figured it was already broken so what the harm in trying.... 100% worked and super mad that I didn't come across your video sooner. I have been repairing electronics for 15 years and when i saw the corrosion I honestly didn't even think twice, I figured water damage and its done. • @piggly-wiggly

This video is spot on. The first two or three videos on these error codes that I saw here on YT showed how to remove the control panel (there's another method that may be less prone to scratching paint than using the spreader to pry), but then basically said you get a new panel, connect it, and you're done. No exploration of why the panel may be bad, just "buy the part and put it in."
I happened to see another video yesterday from a guy who seemingly stumbled over the fix (or maybe he was playing innocent and had actually seen this video) and, following the instructions of cleaning those contacts, I was able to fix the washer. This video confirmed and expanded on what the other guy was saying. It also covers what to put on those pieces to prevent reoccurrence of the problem.
In my case I was able to use a Q-tip taped to a pencil and then some more aggressive means (e.g. a bit of sandpaper taped to a pencil) to access the little copper bars and clear them off from the back without removing the panel. As this video shows, there are other exposed parts, too, in that same area. So I may be getting back in there before too long. But now I have an understanding of what the problem is and how to fix it.
Thank you Josh for the generous donation of your time and expertise to help save us from big repair bills and help save the landfills from equipment that still has many years of service left in it.

I was skeptical about this solution to the problem, but I had nothing to lose trying. I am glad I did, to my amazement it actually worked. I did not have the kind of corrosion described by Josh. It was hardly visible, but still, there was some present. After scrubbing it down with alchohol-soaked Q-Tips, it worked!

Worked on my MVWB766FW1. One of the little gold connectors was black with corrosion. It took a couple hours to clean off with rubbing alcohol then vinegar & baking soda, but it works now. THANK YOU JOSH!

I just watched another video where the guy said to just buy a new board after showing how he got the top off. So many comments raving about what great advice. Watched your video and fixed it myself and just ordered my conformal acrylic from Amazon (still $12). I fixed my fridge ice maker after a plastic part was worn down too instead of replacing the whole ice maker. These companies are designing these for planned obsolescence or part wear-out just to make money. Back in the day, washers, refrigerators, etc. lasted for years and years with no electronics. Less tech/lasts longer. How many use more than 2 settings on these machines?

Saved the day! Thank you! Ours wasn't as corroded, but there were fine lines built up between the small copper contacts. Scrubbed them clean and painted with a bit of clear nail polish. Back to brand new!

Thanks alot very good video. I did exactly what u said after listening to entire video and my kenmore 700S series top load washer is working again. It was showing the f6 e2 code. Now I don't have to pay $90 just for diagnostic or plus parts & labor I'm very happy thank you very much and greatly appreciated. Turned into a $13 repair.

I can't thank you enough for this video. I currently have a load of laundry going thanks to you. I ended up sealing that area off with eva foam and silicone caulk because I was too nervous to use nail polish on the board. Seems like it should do a decent job keeping the moisture out.

Bought this washer two years ago and had the code pop up a year ago. I had the repairman come fix it just to make use of the warranty. But when the code popped up again today I went in search of a fix. This worked. Thank you so much.

Great tutorial! My dryer has been showing the F6 E3 error code for about a week. I wasn't able to get the breaker off the machine to clean the circuit connections but I just reached in through the back and swabbed it while it was still attached. My dryer turned back on almost immediately. I didn't even have to clear the code. Thank you so much! You're a life saver

You're the man! You just saved me from buying a brand new unit. My washer was actually branded as Kenmore Series 700 model # 110.28132410. Ironically the inside of the machine's control board and front panel looked 90% the same as what you show in the video. Our washer was working fine and then would not power on. I did the sequence of button presses on the control display and received the F6 E2 error code. I followed your instructions and also removed the panel and cleaned all the other visible electrical solder pads I could easily access. No idea why this works (as others have also commented) but the wife is happy and that's all the matters! Thanks again!!!
