Great tips!. Also, be aware of what I call "cheaters. People who illegally or unsafely try to get around you instead of waiting patiently behind you. People who try to pass you on an on-ramp. Or people who try to scoot around you on your short side while you're waiting to make a wide turn.
Yes, those can be very annoying. You always have to be so alert when driving, especially when dealing with inconsiderate drivers. Thanks for the comment! - MJ
Oh girlll, *all Floridian drivers are “cheaters”* 😂😂😂
When you were changing lanes and you slowed down that will typically cause the car behind you to pull into the lane you want to go into. A better strategy is to always increase speed if you can before you change lanes, it helps to clear blind spots by moving cars that may be hiding in the blind spot back where they can be seen and you see the hole you are trying to fit into ahead of you.
Thanks for the advise. You should put a video together, it would be great for RV’ers.
Izzy
All vehicles should maintain or increase Speed when changing lanes otherwise your begging for everyone else to cooperate with your non standard maneuver(why shut it down to continue?)
True
I'm a professional trainer on tour bus motorcoaches and this is a very good beginner video on how to drive these vehicles. All great information and very helpful for a 15 minute video. Thank you for taking the time and helping people be safe on the road with these bigger vehicles.
That's a nice compliment. Thank you! - MJ
Thank you so much...
I'm a lone by myself new full time Rv'r. I drove big rigs when I was younger and I Had No Fear! Now I am dang... 64 and I know fear can get hold of me. I need to reiterate that it's not who I really am. Fear doesn't control me, it never has before, let it go Rae!
So videos like yours are relevant to my freedom and I do so appreciate your time and knowledge.
I can do anything with correct knowledge.
Thank you again. From my heart.
Great advice, TY for publishing. Our philosophy ~ Before RV: "Don't be in a hurry to get nowhere"... After RV: "Don't be in a hurry to get everywhere".
I like your comment about going slow. We have a 32 foot class A and whenever we go somewhere, we make sure to take our time. If time is critical, it’s best not to drive an RV!
Yes sir take your time and get there safe. Thanks for watching and your feedback.
Izzy
Endless RVing we just found your channel and subscribed! Looking forward to watching your journey. 👍
Agree 100%
More than once have forgotten to crank down my TV antenna before leaving a campground so made a checklist. Thanks for this informative video.
I know this is an older video however wanted you to know that thanks to your driving tips videos I drove my first trip today, including a fueling stop. Thank you for helping me realize I could drive our class A 40 foot motor home!
Awesome. Thanks for watching
Nice video, and i have been RV-ing for 30+years! Lance Camper 3 Fifth wheels and 2 Motorhomes. Thanks!!! Also, always drive a RV in tow haul mode! The transmission does a torgue converter lock-up for the gears. Save your transmission and safer stopping. Drive no more than 65, better to go 60! Use cones (collapsible on Amazn)) to park at campsites (great for fifth wheel trailers. Do a pre-check (DMV FOR CLASS A is very thorough!) and check your step/ satelite for storage.
Thanks for sharing!
I am in my 30s, single woman, just looking to buy my first class a motorhome around 36 feet.... thus was helpful. I started using my car size throughout life, so it is not a total shocker, but this was all helpful.i love seeing women drive... awesome!
While in school bus training it was drummed into you , Check your mirrors side to side every 10 seconds. So important.
xcanuck4 mirrors and cameras always!!
Thanks for watching and your feedback
Izzy
12:29 that bit at the end about tail swing. they taught us that in our P endorsement for driving tour busses.
She is a great communicator.
MJ was a public school teacher for 20 years and now a business owner for almost 10 years. She had some time to develop her “skills” lol. Thanks for watching and the comment.
Izzy
I concur
Good overview. I'm a retired medic/firefighter, and have driven some big vehicles. The best thing I learned is, as you said, safety first. As many EMS runs I've been on, my biggest lesson is "I have much to learn, and overconfidence is fatal!
This is very true. When I was a patrol officer defensive driving was big to me on emergency calls. I was of no use if I wrecked going to an emergency!! Thanks for watching and the comment.
Izzy
Thank you solo much for the information. I just bought a 32' class A and am going to be driving it for the first time (EVER). I was extremely nervous until I watched this video. I feel much better learning what you taught me. Thank you SINCERELY!!!
That's awesome. Glad it was helpful. Relax and enjoy the ride! :) - MJ
My husband and I are thinking about buying our first motorhome. I have never driven a motorhome so this video was very re-assuring that maybe I can. Thank you.
Oh Im so happy it helped. You can do it! Good luck. - MJ
This is the best video from endless rv , thank you ... I really enjoy it.
My husband just bought me a 1996 35 ft motorhome and I drove it a few times but since the covid19 I haven't driven her in a while now I'm afraid 😬 to drive her since the last time I had hit a curd and said to my husband no way not me so now that I've seen your video I just might try and do it once again. Thank you for your help and please stay safe and stay healthy ❤️
Hi Leslie. You can do it. Just take it slow and wide. There is also a good book on Amazon you may want to check out.

Thanks for watching and the kind words.
Izzy
Best advice I found yet! We are thinking of jumping in.
Phenomenal video. Really great tips guys. So useful to hear all these reminders before getting on the road at the beginning of the season.
Great tips. Terri wants to know how to drive. So we start at the local high school parking lot. Practice makes perfect. Thanks for the tips.
This is the best "To the Point" video I have ever watched.
I just recently purchased a 40-ft diesel pusher I'm pretty nervous but I feel better now I haven't watched this video so thank you for posting it.
I love how you stress not worrying about what others are thinking by taking it slow.
Thank you Scott and here is the follow up video!!

Thanks guys. We have a Windsport 34 j and am using your videos and advise!! Heading to Charleston SC Monday!

Izzy
Awesome, I took my first drive today. This is great advice.
Just drive it like MJ! Thanks for watching.
Great video! Very informative and well done. Thank you! Rich
Glad you enjoyed it!
Wonderful community service you are providing!! I won’t be driving a big RV, but as always, I thank people for sharing their expertise in whatever field they are good in!
Many thanks! Great couple.🎉
Thank you
Great tips. My wife hit the same tree branch 3 times in a row circling Costco. I called her on the phone asking her why she hates that tree. She did not understand until we stop for gas and the tree branch fell off the top of the Rv. Make sure to look for low hanging trees. She now knows. I now drive the RV. Great tips everyone one of them. You also might want to install a train horn. I love my train horn and use it a lot when we get cut off. Thanks for sharing rocking video
Lol thanks for sharing that. I want a train horn in my Ram because people can’t drive!! I love those train horn YT videos!!
Thanks for watching.
Izzy
Thanks for sharing your knowledge
I just got a big 40’ rv
I’m used to truck and trailer.
Thank you very much for this video! I'm heading out on my first long drive in our new RV, and this helped me a lot.
Have fun!
Great video. Addressed everything I was hoping you would. Thanks
Thanks so much guys! We get our Coach Wednesday! My husband will be fine but this is teaching me a lot! ❤️
Glad it helped!
Hello from “Central” NJ. This is great, thanks for taking the time to produce this.
Hey neighbor! 👋 You’re very welcome and glad you liked it. Stay warm. 😀 - MJ
Glad I found you, this is my first RV ever, class A 38 ft, and I have to drive in the Los Angeles area with crazy freeways, I was terrified. You gave me hope and the encouragement to relax and enjoy. See you on the road and again thanks.
George Padilla awesome thanks for the kind words. It’s nothing more than a big car!!
Izzy
LA has to be difficult on the streets with so many cars on both sides of the road, basically taking up the whole street lol. I’m nervous about driving in LA
Beautifully done! Nice to see a video that doesn’t get cutesy about a woman driving a diesel pusher.
Thanks for watching and the comment
Thank you for this video. We are 1 year driving a Class A. I am always learning something!
Thanks for watching Karen.
Izzy
Very helpful! Thank you both.
Our pleasure!!
I am dying to buy a class C. This helps a lot. Thank you for putting it together.
MJ is such a good teacher! Were upgrading forma B Class to a C class soon. This is great info. Also have 3 dogs. Love all your pro training tips MJ!

Your video is very helpful. I practise driving rv for the second time.. Thank you for sharing!
Thanks for watching and the comment.
Izzy
Loved the video, we’re a retired couple and just bought a 40 foot diesel pusher. I’m terrified to drive it, your video helped some. Thanks I look forward to learning more.
Awesome. You can do it!!
Thanks for watching and the comment.
Izzy
Great video. I have a Diesel Pusher with cameras on the side and back. To help see my toad and backup, I installed a Type J Solar powered camera on the back license plate. Works great when backing up. Also, put one on the front plate so that I can see in front of me at ground level. You can buy a monitor that can show both cameras on a split screen or just one camera. Now, I have no blind spots.
Awesome thanks for sharing that and leaving a comment.
Izzy
Would you mind sharing what front and rear solar cameras and monitors you installed? We are needing these as well.
Great video my wife.is a.great driver but will share this with her
Great video.
Thank you for sharing. You guys are so kind.
Thanks for watching.
Izzy
Currently have a Suburban pulling a 25 ft trailer, but soon to go back to a MH. 35 +/- ft. I drove fire apparatus for 40 years, so size doesn't intimidate me, but that tail swing is something I'll have to be careful about. Thanks for the video!
The both of you are 100% Spot On with all of this! Great instructional. I wish I could get my wife to get behind the wheel of the Class A but if I show her this maybe she will be more inspired. The only comment I might make and it's surely not a dig is driver fatigue. Planning out your trips properly with rest days wisely interspersed. I can't tell you how many times I poorly planned a trip and ended up driving 10-12 hours a day being completely exhausted. That is 100% my fault but with these big vehicles especially flat towing behind is not smart especially with precious cargo inside and the other precious cargo driving their vehicles around you.
Great job guys!
Thanks for the info on driving a RV/motorhome. We just purchased a 32' and I have never driven one, so these two videos were very helpful.
Awesome! Good luck and safe travels. 😊
Great video guys! My wife and I are trading in the 5th wheel and picking up our new class a next week. I've always done the driving, but my girl wants to learn, so this video will be most helpful. Safe travels~
Thanks! It's very easy after a few times - she will love it. Good luck and have fun! - MJ
I am needing to get TPMS as well. That is something I need soon. I agree with the take your time. I do no more than 65 miles per hour and most of the time around 60. MJ driving the crap out of that thing. I drove alone for several months. We now have the car setup for flat tow so we can ride together. That has been a huge help for me. Good stuff and great advice. Thanks for sharing.
Yea I hear ya on driving alone - it sucks! Glad you have the tow so you can ride together now. I love driving this thing- it’s too much fun! - MJ
Great tips guys as always, I like the exhaust brake on my Super C it make breaking really easy ! Stay Safe !!
Diesel braking will always be better. Thanks for checking out the video.
Izzy
Thanks for the great tips and the clear, precise presentation. Nice job!
Thanks Dan
Thank you for the video... All good advice... Have owned and driven motorhomes for the past 30 years... Current version is a 38 ft diesel pusher while towing a GMC Canyon pickup... Love the RV lifestyle and taking it out... However, driving it is our least favorite thing... It's big, it's a challenge, it's 65 ft of stuff rolling down the highway, climbing hills, overtaking and being overtaken by semitrucks, etc... Just a total white-knuckle thing at all times... No fun and not my idea of being on a vacation... Take a plane, stay in a hotel, drive a rental car... Be happy...
Thank you so much, im in the proces of change mi life to a traveler and i need to learn a lot, and you are a very good teachers
Thanks for watching and the comment.
Izzy
Can not thank you enough! We were far from home when my husband became ill, which meant that I had to put on the big girl pants on and drive home. To prepare ,I started to look for advice. Your guidance was the BEST. Your voice was in my head the whole time. I did great and remembered to try and have fun.
That is so wonderful to hear! You go girl! Very happy for you. 😍
Just watched your video. Going to pick up my Class A from Georgia on Tuesday and driving it to Houston. Baptism by fire! Thank you.
Awesome. What did you get? Enjoy the journey
Izzy
I feel your Pain. I just bought a 2020 Coachmen Mirada Select 38ft. Driving back from Florida. Then driving around the country for an 8 month family trip.
Great video as always. TPMS is a critical piece of safety equipment and very cheap insurance against tire blowouts. Luckily our fridge is self-locking so we don't have to worry about that. Do not relay 100% on GPS. Our Garmin has tried to take us down some bad roads before. Slow and steady wins the race! Stay safe guys!
Yes TPMS is a nice option. It should be standard on new rigs. Thanks for watching and the feedback.
Izzy
We have a 33' class A. I love driving it. My husband tends to not leave enough space in front of him so I am constantly telling him to slow down and it makes me nervous. So we are both happy when I drive. I take my time and enjoy the drive. When it's slow bumper to bumper traffic I don't mind that either it gives you a little time to see a few things on the way. You guys have a wonderful channel.
Thank you for the kind words.
Izzy
Great job and really good tips. Thanks
Thank you guys!!
Izzy
Just starting -- only approximately 500 miles. Did get some training -- worth it. Still getting a handle on lane travel. Good video and solid tips. Thank you
Good for you!! The more you do it, the more you’ll enjoy it. Have fun and thanks so much for watching. Appreciate it! - MJ
This was very helpful! Thanks ❤ 👍
Glad it helped!
It's me again, still mustering up courage to take the class A diesel pusher up mountain roads. I know you want me to get back on the horse and practice, I plan to. Thanks again for a very relevant and informative video.
Go for it- you can do it! - MJ
That's a cool video. I'll be watching it over and over between practice driving sessions. I just bought a 33 ft RV, and I do have a lot of anxiety about driving it for the first time. I don't want to end up like Robin Williams in the RV movie.
LOL You’ll be fine just take it slow and easy. Don’t let people push you to rush when you’re out there. :) Thanks for watching! - MJ
Awesome video. Great information
Thanks! Glad you enjoyed.
Some great tips. No matter how hard I try to get her to, my wife will not drive the RV whatsoever. So I always end up doing the driving.
Maybe she can practice in a large parking lot to start to feel comfortable? She can go at her own pace there. Show her this- she can do it!! - MJ
super helpful. we will most likely be getting a class B but Class A is still in the running for us. So very good pointers.
Class B will be a breeze to drive!!
Thanks for watching
