Australian steam locomotives 3001, 3526, 3801 & R766 - Thirlmere Festival of Steam - March 2023

- Scenes recorded on Saturday March 18tth, 2023, at the annual Transport Heritage NSW "Thirlmere Festival Of Steam" of steam locomotives 3001 & 3526 working trips between Thirlmere and Buxton and 3801 & 3642 then R766 & 3642 working between Thirlmere and Picton. 3642 was painted in a temporary black livery, and 3801 & R766 double headed on the last trip of the day.
Decades ago if You had of said to their respective state owners, that 3801 and R766 would be lashed up together to work a train on NSW standard gauge metals,…..I think they would have near committed You to the railway nut house 😂👍…….but what a sight to see in 2023, nice footage Bev 👍

Good video we got some nice looking steam locomotives here in Australia Good to see them all working hard. 3801 and R766 look and sound good double heading 2 big powerhouses

Excellent video, especially the sequence showing 3001, and last of all, the 38 and R doubl eheading where you managed a spot that wasn't overly obscured by others.

Is the only reason for hte double heading a lack of turnback? Or was there a traciton issue as well?
