I think one thing I always admire about doll artists is how they always have multiple skills. They concept, style hair, do makeup, sculpt for body modifications, sew and make trinkets all for one doll. It's really amazing.

You may have not achieved quite the red-eye effect you were going for, but the molding of the eyelids really helps accentuate the swollen, irritated crying look, especially with your amazing face up skills.
She looks Beautiful, I love the potions maybe i'll use that Technique for my mini doll wizard self. Keep up the great work.

the amount of thought put into your dolls makes them seem so real. the careful research, the complex backstories and inspiration from your real experiences. it all makes the doll so much more than just its design.

She's too cute, my god! And the amount of thought and detail put into coming up with her look is phenomenal, as well. Those little skulls in her hair really made the hairstyle. And the eyes are so expressive that I could totally see her as a stop motion character. A+ work, as always!

Oh my WOW I just finished the video and even though I knew she would turn out amazing she completely blew my expectations out of the water! She is absolutely stunning! Does she have a name yet? Sorry if I seem like I’m over stepping but to me she seems like an Ella or maybe just an Elle.

Your description of a potion master at work is almost exactly how I remember healers at work being described in the Redwall book series, especially as dock leaves are a common ingredient in their treatments

Here in Alaska the nettles grown near the sword fern- and sword fern pollen cuts down the sting. I love the story of your childhood, so sweet and magical!

The wardrobe! The accessorieeeees!! I said this about the Physician too, but the thought you put into your characters really shines through in their design. Even if you didn't hear the narration, a person would get a good sense of who she is just by looking at her. I absolutely adored watching you make all the different accessories. It really inspires me to think about what little charms I'd like to use in a doll project.

I am currently writing an original horror story, and this doll has been a huge inspiration for the antagonist, a malevolent entity disguising itself as a young girl, to trick the protagonist into some rather awful things.
The character itself as far as personality and backstory is entirely unrelated, and I have made sure to take a fair amount of artistic liberties, making it my own. I just wanted to say thank you for the wonderful inspiration!

A block of upholstery foam or a felting foam block would be a good investment as it protects your fingers from painful punctures if your felting needle slips. I've done that even with a block. OUCH!!!!! Your doll is gorgeous!
tip, if you'd ever want to explore wigmaking again, make the wig before the faceup goes on, it saves you a lot of fear and trouble of accidentally scratching the faceup
I do not like Rainbow High dolls, and yet, this is one of my favorite dolls you've done. I think that really speaks to how skilled you are.

I love her, she's very gorgeous, and she does remind me of the beautifully dark stop motion animation that has always enthralled me. I love all the little details, from the freckles to the dark circles under her eyes. They really breath life into the doll. If you'd be willing to tackle another larger doll like this one, I would be interested in seeing a character that is a complete contrast to the potion master, a narrative foil of sorts to highlight her character, or maybe they could be acquaintances.
Can I just say how beautiful and creative her dress is, it seems like something so unusual but so gorgeous.

one thing i’ve seen some other customizers do when they’ve created wig caps is make a thin slit through the cap, and glue a set of wefts through to the inside-it’s another way to make a clear scalp part without having to hide extra glue with more hair overtop (and you can take this as feedback to try on a different custom if you’d like to experiment, or leave it-i don’t want to be prescriptive if it’s unwarranted, and she’s beautiful nevertheless!)

What a sweet character and backstory! I feel like the color of her eyes clashes a bit with the red of the ribbons because they are two different kinds of red, but the resin eyes were a huge success!

Right up until the final shots I’d always thought yarn hair on dolls looked so fake like it was too fine to be hair and that it looked stiff. Showing how the hair looks flows really changed my mind and honestly I adore you so much more for it.

i dont know if this was intentional or not, but the cosplay bun trick you did is also period accurate for victorian+edwardian hair! a lot of women would collect clippings of their hair from haircuts and hair from their brushes and then clump them together in lumps or rolls to make ‘hair rats.’ these would then be used as a base for buns and styles that the hair connected to the head would rap around :)
