to me, shadow high series 2 is the top tier quality of (playline) rainbow high dolls. while i do miss the second outfit, excluding it really made them focus the quality of the clothing. i do also think the lineup is also very visually appealing and they just look good next to eachother, i own 4/6 of them and havent had any fashion mishaps., everythings such great quality its insane. its the first line where i almost want to buy all of them!
Shadow High and Rainbow High have such cute dolls 🥺🥺🥺 I don’t have any money to but my own dolls, but I have convinced my aunt to give me any dolls any of my cousins give away 💕
for a doll with no makeup, I genuinely believe Ash has one of the prettiest faces of the entire brand. they do him so dirty in the animated series lol
Seeing some of these dolls after forgetting about them for a while really gives me a new appreciation for them! I'm not a fan of RH or SH, but the level of detail in many of the dolls is astounding

For me it’s 1. Shanelle 2. Monique 3. Glitch 4. Eliza 5. Lola . I have them all and they are just so dazzling in person. I tend to go for a more fantasy vibe.

I love Shadow High I would say it's my favorite line of dolls from the RH universe.
Maybe they've gotten a little crazy with the skintones but I can't believe they went and did an entire monochrome series. People had to approve of that and say, yeah that will sell. Amazing.
Ainsley lol, she's naked somewhere on my shelves, she's very stained from the clothes she was wearing. She's s hot mess.
I wanted to fix her but she's now like "whoooooo boobs out!!" because I can't be bothered.
Shadow High eats honestly.
Also I neeeeeed to draw Draculura in Demi Batista's outfit. But pink of course. She'd be so cute ❤ There's some Bratzillas like that too
Ainsley has several problems. I ordered her from the US to Canada because she was in short supply here and more expensive, even considering the shipping. I got one that had a smear on one eyebrow, and then the replacement had glitter from the eye makeup embedded all over the lip paint. I kept the first one because her expression was better. Some of the Ainsleys looked mean, and some looked sweeter. Then there is the body staining from the clothes, and some clashing in the outfit pieces. It seems like she was rushed, maybe to get her out for that release event. On the other hand, the twins I ordered looked great.
She definitely had sooo many messed up face-paint 😞

Yeah I heard a lot of issues with Ainsley...I had heard mostly the body staining from the clothing, knowing the faces were also bad is so sad

It’s so fascinating how we all have such vastly different opinions. Mine are probably the opposite from you 😂😂😂 I am sorry about Demi, though. She is my favorite but I haven’t tried washing her hair and I’m so so sorry that experience was so horrible for you! There should be more SH dolls coming out and I’m very very much looking forward to the Sunny/Luna pack and hopefully their outfits will be what was in the IG post. Are you feeling better from going to the dentist? I think you look like you’re having fun here just so you know 😊
I'm glad I looked okay haha! I couldn't smile quite right and was scared to look grumpy 😅 Definitely feeling better now, it's still not quite back to normal but I can laugh again which is what matters!

I wish Zooey had pants I’m not really feeling her skirt. I didn’t buy Karla, Glitch or Dia yet been waiting for sales. I never bought Ash part of me just wants his clothes 😂🖤🖤🖤. I skipped Rexx as well. Luna was my least fav in series 1. Nicole I actually like. I still want to get Harley 💚💚💚

@@FaeryTaleDolls right I think I’ve seen some redyes on Zooey too with silver hair and even black I think it was just a lot of mint green with the skin tone, hair & skirt. Like her jacket is 1 of my favorite pieces in dolls across the board I think if she had been given pants to match it with lots of pockets and patches then she would be closer to a perfect doll 👽👽👽🤗🤗🤗
For Eliza try boots from the mini accessories studio because those work on her.
Nicole has the prettiest face to me. I just hate her first outfit. She looks so much better in Shannel's dress. She gives off a sweet, innocent vibe like Deliah. I, too, don't like the white in Shannel's hair tempted to redo her hair to cover the white painted edges. I can try giving her a side bang.
I have a white/grey streak on one side like Shanelle's, so I love it. The white painted edges do look a bit weird, though.
Shanelle looks amazing in restyles. I really love dressing her up. I'm waiting for Natasha to go on sale, I also hate her clothes but like her. Heather, Demi and the twins are my favorites.
My top favorites are Natasha, Karla, Eliza and Shanelle. I love Mara too and have her as well

As an Ainsley owner, I 100% agree with the sentiment that the metallics do not match. THE AMOUNT OF RESTYLINGS I TRIED TO GET TO WORK JUST DIDNT WORK
Out of all shadow high I like Uma the most. Her particular shade of blue-purple does something good for my brain, and I really like the blue plaid with silver accessories. I didn't know that everyone likes her, but in my case, she is the only shadow tall doll that I feel something really positive about every time I see her. Harley almost evokes the same emotions in me, but I usually don't like the color green, so the fact that a green doll evokes positive emotions in me is already an achievement.
The opposite is the case with Dia and Monique. Their specific shades of purple somehow make me angry. I don't know why, but, especially with Monique, the blue strands in her braids look, in my opinion, very strange and off, because they don't seem to have the same intensity or temperature as her other colors. I'm not even sure if it's really so, it's so hard for me to explain my emotions, but I don't like these two very much, which is sad because short hair and braids are what I wanted more. I love braids on dolls (and people)
I think Glitch is overhyped. Her hair, without jewelry looks boring, her hair color is too ordinary and her costume is just okay. Yes, no one has done boot leggings yet, but there's a reason for that - they're hard to match with anything else, and I don't think her dress looks particularly unique. And the pattern on the top and leggings, in my opinion, looks like a cheap copy of matrix visualization. I don't understand why EVERYONE loves her so much, especially considering that in order for her to really look like in the series, you have to try very hard, and I wouldn't say that the brand helps a lot in this.
I do totally understand where you're coming from with Gltich, she is bizarre and does need some effort to be at her best. I tend to like very unique things in dolls even if they are impractical just because of the novelty, but it is definitely fair to say that novelty is kind of all she has
@@FaeryTaleDolls I think my problem with Glitch is that MGA knew for sure that they couldn't give her doll that many decorations, so they didn't have to give her so many decorations in the animation. This is not the case when a movie is shot, and then the human characters have to be turned into dolls, so their clothes have to be greatly simplified. The series Rainbow High literally exists as an advertisement. There is no way that the creators do not realize that the characters will turn into dolls. They knew they couldn't make a doll like the one on the screen, but they still gave us a complex design that makes a simplified doll look unfairly cheap. (I'm not talking about its quality, I'm talking about its appearance compared to what fans expected based on what was shown in the series)
I think Glitch is a gorgeous doll. I love her beautiful face and her witchy vibe. Her colouring is subtle and I like this grayish/purple tone. I don't watch the RH/SH animation so I could not care less about how she is supposed to look.
I have Ainsley slater. I love her as a doll, but I don't understand why her hair is so freaking thick and long. It tangles so easily.
Edit: I got Heather when she first came out, she's so pretty, but I do intend to spice her up by customizing her.
For me, the only perfect SH dolls for me are Veronica, Naomi, Demi, Heather, and Ainsley. Everyone else just isn't as good as them for me.🖤💜
The twins and Glitch are my favourites. I really liked the costume ball dolls at first, but they were not in stores in Canada, and now that I don't have them, I don't really miss them. I also really liked series 2 at first, but I only ended up buying Glitch. I guess I don't like fantasy skin tones and themes as much as I thought.
I love Glitch too. She is amazing. Really a gorgeous doll. I love her beautiful face and grayish/purple colouring.
I know what you mean about not missing them when they are not available in our countries! It is great it works that way for me too.
I am so delighted with Glitch that she made it up for all the dolls that haven't been released here or are too expensive!
I can't believe you are being so harsh for Nicole. She is really a beautiful doll. I understand her outfits might not be for everyone. At least, her outfits are different and quite unique.
It is funny our perceptions of things, how different they can be. It is interesting.
I could not rank my dolls. It would be impossible. I love them all for different reasons.
I wish all SH/RH lines would be released in Europe and easily available (and affordable too!). I sometimes feel US coorporations treat people outside the US like "second class customers" but charge them more at the same time. It starts to really bother me highly...
I am a Nicole fan too, especially her face and hair. One thing about RH/SH is that there is variety, so something is bound to appeal to almost everyone, unless they don't like the head size.
When the new scullector Image is released can you review it and giv your opinions on the dolls? I loved your analysing Rochelle video, it is how I found your channel

I actually agree with alot of what you've said, however our rankings still ended up somewhat different xD
Perfect: Natasha (Don't love her feather dress but she's so pretty and her 2nd outfit more than makes up for it), Shanelle, Naomi, Veronica, Zooey, Lola, Monique (Lola and Monique I don't 100% love the outfits but I don't hate them either and there so pretty I can overlook it)
Almost Perfect: Uma, Mara, Harley (Love all Neon Shadow just not in love with all their pieces), Karla (I've seen some Karlas that look stunning and others that are quite scary!), Heather (I still love Heather, she's just taken a little tumble down)
Good: Luna, Glitch, Ainsley, Eliza, Demi, Rexx (I like all of these but they also all have something I'd change - except Rexx because I don't collect boys)
Not for me: Ash, Nicole (There not bad but their sporty style just isn't for me. I do love Nicoles boots though.)
Mediocre:
Bad: Dia (She had potential but she's unfortunately the only shadow high doll I don't like!)

Ok this has been sitting in my watch later list for awhile now, but I'm finally ready to answer the hard hitting questions. Shadow high is the best not monster high brand on the market right now so these are all superior to rainbow high, so this ranking is just me comparing them to eachother if I was comparing them to other dolls they'd all be s's and a's otherwise lol. Also the order in each tier is just in order of appearance not preference, lord knows I couldn't possible narrow that down:
Perfect:
Naomi and Veronica storm the queens have not been topped, these are also the only ones that I can safely say are best in their tier
Harley limstone I fell HARD for neon shadow, I had like no reaction when I first saw official promos of them but in person the intensity of the color and the well placed pops of black after mixing around her pieces just right she's spectacular
Uma Vanhoose I should have known the blue doll would win me over, her pants are one of my single favorite clothing pieces from the brand period I want them in my size so bad and the pink in her makeup is perfect like removing her hat and seeing her face without it is a must I can't believe they concealed her great face and baby hairs with a hat
Mara Pinkett honestly a surprise I only got her recently after holding off on her waiting to see what else they came out with, but taking her out of the box and mixing around her pieces till its just right and actually seeing this incredible crimped hair in the light I love her too. Also she gets points for great makeup too love the music not eyeliner. I was a fool for thinking she wasn't as good as the other two
Lola Wilde I don't have her yet I've been waiting for sales, but she just hasn't gone on sale. Her color is great the hair and makeup is incredible and the outfit is such a cool take, in my mind she's a werewolf cuz this is some straight up clawdeen energy and I love it
Glitch Crowne in person she has a nice spectrum her hair is truly navy (shade thrown to kim) her outfit amazing and on her boots and ends of her dress extra pops of color and details are worked in all over. With the oil slick earrings its also almost like she's on a similar level to or in association with the twins
Monique Verbana I don't have her yet I'm just assuming she belongs here because of how much I've loved intense colored ones prior and I've never seen one with bad makeup and her hair is going to feel amazing. Also love how they worked a shimmer into her dress and blue into her hair.
Almost Ideal:
Ainsley Slater ok I dressed her in the leather pants and leather long sleeved top with leather corset vest and spiked combat boots she looks like she came from the underworld movies now, BUT since she didn't come with earrings and her lip color doesn't match most of her looks she isn't quite perfect. I still need to repaint her lips. Also since she's a doll whose cost is derived from how many outfit pieces she has and I don't like some of those pieces and got her on clearance takes away from her too. But because of how awesome she looks with pieces she did in fact originally come with I can still put her here
Natasha Zima the one I have that I dyed with shades of blue is s tier but the uncustomized version as is goes here
Heather grayson the fashion and style is so good I love the tiniest bit of color more, this is another one I dyed some color into but I can't rank my customs here
Shanelle onyx love her dress its gorgeous and her makeup really pops, also she is an S with aquamarine where the white is
Demi Batista while she doesn't pop as much the sheer amount of removable pieces that make up her look and the beautiful shimmer in the cloak and brocade outside of it she IS a stunner. I also got one with good bangs and makeup I like the color inversion they did on her eye makeup it sets her apart. The main drawback is her hairstyle looks too much like draculaura, a different hair style entirely was needed to not keep making that connection constantly, Now new drac does have A doll with the bangs gone and her widow peak showing NOW but then that would have been a great unused option
Zooey Electra its all about the color and theming here. If any other doll were wearing a white baggy jacket it'd be a D but the alien theme with astronaut with tech references throughout, Im a sucker for a good theme, and a sucker for this color. But her skirt being the same color as her skin is an issue so I changed it out with a black skirt (ainsley's black and white skirt specifically) and as much as I love the theming the shirt could have had more than a t shirt. Off the shoulder or one shoulder or just SOMETHING to make it more than a white tee with print. I can't fault the baggy jacket cuz its literally critical for the them. The real and MAJOR reason why she's here tho, her bow plugs keep undoing on her shoes. Like couldn't they have just sewn the strings together THEN attached to the shoes? But no, instead i'm afraid to touch her or suffer, and that's not good for any doll
Good:
Eliza Mcfee it hurts so many don't like her but thats because this line is riddled with defects. When you find one with good makeup and bangs and take the wings out of the plastic not only does she look great but she also can juuust barely work on her stand I love the shimmer all over on her. But the biggest reason she's here is the just barely part. When she is on her stand her position is slightly slanted backwards, more practice just putting her on her stand and realizing it needed to be a saddle stand instead would have prevented this. Also I know her shoes are a reference but so would tinker bell wedges have been and i'd have liked that more. So the bad shoes and the impracticality of posing her on her stand knocks one of the most beautiful fairy dolls of all time down. She DESERVES better
Karla Choupette she's really neat and has great pieces and layering, but she's witheld from higher tiers because her eyebrows practically vanish, her makeup doesn't pop enough at a distance, and the fan wont stay upright I keep messing with it
Overhyped:
Luna Madison she's strong but conceptually mixed the second outfit is just more confusing then anything else what her style is and without customizing she really falls thru the cracks
Dia mante it feels wrong to put her in overhyped cuz she actually has the opposite problem. I don't hate her like others do but she IS lacking something, at first i thought maybe i didn't like her hairstyle but I think its the outfit. Now the clothes are a rihanna reference I get that, but the jacket? I don't like it. Also there's a pop of black on the boots and black appears no where else, so maybe more pops of black. Regardless of what details take me out of it I love her skin and makeup so that isn't it
Mid:
Ash silverstone as far as rh boys go he's good but I still don't like how rh boys look yet
Nicole steel she's cute but I hate denim jackets with a passion and among sporty looks the second outfit still could have been better
Actually bad:
The stands! Why are rainbow high and shadow high stands so completely useless?!?! I hate being afraid to nudge my dolls for fear of them toppling over again!
Rexx Mcqueen he cute but literally nothing he's wearing appeals to me, I hate puffer jackets, I hate just slapping basic hoodies on a guy and calling it good, and the text does not jazz it up. He needed more pops of silver or white its what made shanelle so successful, as is he's just a ball of jet black that disappears and has nothing that stands out. I use black and darker wood shelves there's nothing fun about a doll with a vanishing act that isn't magician themed
When I first did this list SO many were in perfect and good so I used technical issues as well as design issues to help me sort out and balance out the tiers better. It helped alot cuz almost all these designs are close to perfect but technical issues are real issues too that mga needs to sort out. Also I know I could have shortened the comment by reducing spaces but when I struggle to proofread my own comment, I had to do something

@@FaeryTaleDolls Not my fault mga cant figure stands out, i lift the doll the stick comes out of the peg again, I slide the doll over doll with clip still attached flops down they just won't fix it
Harley is that B! She's one of my fave SH dolls, another one is Uma her face is so unique and I love her accessories, Rexx is another favorite his chunky boots and his hairstyle is chefs kiss and lastly it's Ainsley she rocks the shimmery face better than others
