Way to go, Ralph! Love them Open Tops!

Just got mine and BOY am I happy. I had a 44 cal. navy cap and ball that also shot high. It's the length of the barrel. Lets face it, at 750 to 800 feet per it's not a fast bullet. So the recoil has a chance to pick the tip up a bit before the bullet actually goes downrange. I dunno, watch Professor Hickock 45 shoot one. He doesn't miss much. He also knows a lot about these. Thanks for posting. If you reload 38 spec. for this gun I'd like to see a vid on that.

I do reload. One thing I can say is that we not load plus P loads. It says that in clear instructions in the manual I got. I have about 500 semi wad cutters that this revolver doesn't like at all. It shots the round factory stuff just fine. Still, I'm going to try some round lead ffor this revolver. The other 38's that I have love those semiwad cutters. Not much recoil. and still a fun gun to shoot. Thanks man. I let you know when I load some up.

I have one of these in .38 Special and shoot the center of the target with 4 different brands thus far. I shoot standing up free hand and one handed but have a lot of practice behind me.

I love that you demonstrated this firearm. I hate that you used a bench rest and got such a lousy grouping at 25 yards.

Ahhhhhhhhhhhhh ha h a ha ha ha. Amigo, it is what it is. A Ruger, Smith & Wesson it isn't. It's very normal for an Italian made firearm. It could be my load too. It seems to be rather particular. I did it yet again in this video ua-cam.com/video/jB7lYXfL02I/v-deo.html

My Cimarron "Man With No Name .38 Conversion" is essentially an Open Top with a windage adjustable rear sight and a loading lever. Mine (of course) is dead on with regards to windage after drifting the sight a hair, but it shoots high. I've never worried with filing some off the rear sight, at least not yet, but it patterns decent with my .38 special handloads (Lee .358-158 RF over 4.5-grains of Universal).

    • @ralphperez4862

My reloads were Lazer Cut 158 gr bullets that I ordered. They shoot really well in my other 38's. I'm going to go back out with this one and try them again. The shots in this video were the first shot out of this gun. Plus, it was a cold day and windy. Thanks man. I may have to order that mold and cast some myself.

@@ralphperez4862 I'm tumble lubing them with Lee Alox and sizing them to .358 with a Lee sizing die...for uniformity.

Maybe you should try resting the revolver on the frame rather than the barrel .

    • @ralphperez4862

Perhaps. All of my other revolvers shoot beautifully using this method. We'll keep working up a load for this bad boy.

It looks very similar to the revolver used by Erron Black from Mortal Kombat.
