We don't use EDTA because EDTA is potent calcium chelator it will chelate calcium from the reagents and we will get wrong results

EDTA is a calcium chelator whileas sodium citrate is calcium precpitator i. e, why we use sodium citratre tube

Clotting factors are more stable in Citrate that's why we use citrate.While EDTA is more effective in maintaining rbcs shape.You can use EDTA vial but with citrate calibrators.
