One funny thing i like to point out about the size reference model is that it was hidden in an early access release of Subnautica before the Sea Emperor was implemented. If you found the hole going to the lava zone, it would be pitch black and dark magma walls covered everything. then, if you continued further, you would find an odd patch of normal sand with a light blue water hue and you could randomly come across the model standing in the middle of it. Markiplier actually found it when he was playing and he got down there legitimately with the max depth prawn suit. Creepy stuff back then but, knowing what it was for now is quite cool.
I really wish they kept the sandworms in and had them inhabit the sand dunes instead of the reapers. It'd have made the sand dunes much more interesting, and far less of a useless biome than it is in the final game
@@TheLastBacon The sandworm was actually never intended to be used in the game, it appears. I heard that it was just a test monster with a model bought from elsewhere.
@luisp.3788 let’s hope the sand worm was intended for the game because I want it to be a possibility to be added in by the devs in another timeline. Also the grabcrab was a cool idea like like the sandstorm, but the devs removed it and added both of the mechanics of the sandworm and grabcrab in below zero as different creatures. What really upsets me is that a lot of the scrapped creatures and biomes were added to below zero as well, which is sad because I personally think subnautica one was better, but that is just my opinion. The twisty bridges and the Lilly pas biome would have been cool in the fist game as well as the rock puncher, and spike plant.
Hey Bacon, Something we would be interested in seeing would be the first versions of some biomes like the lost river and mountains along with places like the hell hole and other removed stuff in versions they where in
The original Aurora with this blue light and old look of water and sky reminded how I saw Subnautica in nightmares. Not very accurate, with some changes that make game more "cold" but somehow pretty spooky with fear of unknown. Edit about nightmares (XD): No messages, no picture of safe shallows or other cool biomes, no music and sometimes creatures
Wonder if the Architects of the Unknown will ever look into bringing the Sandworm back? Maybe one day, but they already have quite a lot on their plate haha
What I wish they could've kept is the massive tunnel leading from the ILZ/ALZ (Not sure which) straight to the surface, it was supposedly where the Sea Dragons came out to hunt Reapers from. Imagine exploring, and seeing a massive, unknown leviathan in the distance attack a reaper, and start forcing it down into that hellish tunnel.
I remember seeing all those videos showing off the entity galleries. It was so interesting back then seeing un implemented things and everyone would theorise what it was. Good ol days.
I would love to see a entire video based off of cut content. Such as, the volcano biome hell hole near the aurora, a more detailed Investigation on other biomes. And etc.
Actually, when I first knew this game, I thought the Aurora was a 2D texture in the horizon, so the first thing I did was swam to it, and found out its actually a 3D model.
I watched the video and it brought back memories of my views of this gallery, and I remember for sure that it was sooooo long and at some point passed right through the aurora further into the ocean. It was a pirated version of the game and I don't remember which one. The gallery was clearly bigger/richer.

i really like going through the older versions of subnautica. it feels so odd, and in my opinion slightly scarier than current subnautica. its probably the graphics from back then. the foggy environment, the unfinished areas in certain biomes, the unpolished terrain in some areas and mostly the void. the void is more unsettling in the old versions because there is absolutely nothing there but it feels like something will creep up on you. and i dont know if anyone else feels this but the fact that this is like a version from years ago and that its practically a lost version of the game, even though you can still play it, makes it just that tiny bit more unsettling for me. what im trying to say is i find the old versions of subnautica more scary/unsettling.
