- Piers Morgan says he believes the news of King Charles' cancer diagnosis has come as shock to everyone, including the Royal Family.
The type of cancer has not been disclosed, but it was discovered during the King's recent treatment for an enlarged prostate.
The King informed close family members, including his sons Prince William and Prince Harry, as well as his three siblings. Prince Harry, the Duke of Sussex, has already spoken to his father over the phone and is said to be flying into the UK in the coming days to see him. The public announcement was made at 6pm, leaving the world in shock and uncertainty.
Although the exact details of the diagnosis have not been revealed, it is clear that this is a serious situation. The King began regular treatments as an outpatient, following his recent procedure for an enlarged prostate. He will continue to undertake basic state duties from the Palace, such as his weekly meeting with the Prime Minister. However, all public engagements have been postponed for the duration of his treatment. It remains uncertain whether he will be able to fulfil major international trips planned for the coming months.

Withdrawal from public duties makes sense. His treatment could be radiation or chemo. Both can make you feel quite sick. Also, the immune system can be affected, and they would not want him exposed to illness from the public.
It’s a big shock and sad that the King has to face this after such a short time into his reign. Wishing him a full and speedy recovery.

Same here. My father died 1.5 years ago from cancer after battling for 6 years. He was only 56. I am still in disbelieve and think he will come back some day. Its the worst you can experience in your lifetime.
I agree! My husband died from pancreatic cancer 14 months ago. People don't realize what a cancer diagnosis can entail unless they have experienced it for themselves 😔

For experienced reporters to question why he would be withdrawing from public appearances is kind of dumb. Because anybody knows anybody that has gone through cancer +chemo treatments knows chemo can make you ill +chemo can also cause your immunity to go low. Therefore you would not want to be out in public if you're immunity is low because that causes chances of coming down with something that you cannot fight off .

My fathers lung cancer was identified during a routine exam that included the chest X-ray and he was fine for almost 20 years... I had triple negative cancer and am fine 13 years later.. We all have cancer cells in our bodies every day, its just that our super duper immune systems gobble them up... So I agree entirely with what you are saying about the immune system. Limit stress and increase the nature walks... and love those who love you!

Cancer is not always the dreaded death sentence that is the first thing that everyone thinks about, I am living with cancer have been for the last 7 years, I take chemo tablets every day and am monitored by oncology, its not the end of the world, I live a good life and just slightly younger than King Charles. God Save the King, and love to anyone living with Cancer.

Hello Pierce Morgan, We Americans thrilled to know that King Charles did well with his prostate surgery. Because of his announcement my husband did get checked, a few days ago my husband had that same problem and my husband had his prostate surgery and is now in recovery. The KING has helped more men than he will ever know. LONG LIVE THE KING... now 😢 we hear about the Cancer !!! It's unfair, but we will continue to Pray for our King. I’ve had 2 cancer diagnosis. It’s never expected, and when you hear those words, you are in denial. I always enjoyed taking care of my home, cooking, cleaning, decorating for the holidays. But since my first diagnosis, I’ve never been the same. I had high hopes that I would be “back to normal”, and able to have my life back again. Unfortunately, I had complications. I was very disappointed and felt that all this was somehow my fault. It’s hard to accept, but when you do hear those ugly words, you have to understand cancer is in charge now. Everyone recovers in a different way. Some have excellent prognosis. Then there are those that seem to never be able to catch up. It’s so unsettling. Just do your best, if your best is everything you used to be capable of, that’s great. If your best is one or two things a day, that’s great too. I wish the king a speedy recovery, and to not push himself too hard.

I think it's terminal, sadly, and the reason it's been announced now is because we will probably see a deterioration of the King, and speculation would be too rife and intense. I'm so sorry for him and his family 😢. Cancer is bloody horrible. My dad had bladder cancer last year but thankfully he's fully recovered and is exactly the same age as the king and I'm the same age as William.

I wonder why they released he has cancer but didn’t say what kind? My heart and prayers continue for King Charles, POW Catherine and Sarah Duchess of York. Also prayers for William and his children. They need to keep all stress away from King Charles and Catherine. This is a lot for them to deal with. Prayers for the rest of the family too

Having an oncologist on the panel would have been helpful. As a healthcare professional in oncology for many years, from what we have been told, it doesn’t warrant everyone panicking about the prognosis. There has been no further surgical intervention at this point. The King is undergoing non surgical adjuvant therapy which could be chemotherapy or radiation or both. It appears calm prudence is in order from the press and public.
Calm prudence is not possible with Piers Morgan.....he's ALWAYS desperate to be the 'first to know' and 'the first to report'. Disgusting.
How do you know it's not neoadjuvant therapy- did they actually say it was adjuvant? Neoadjuvant chemo or radiotherapy may be given in the leadup to a planned surgery It could also be palliative therapy, but hopefully not.

The treatment for cancers is very harsh & nobody would feel up to entertaining the public, so of course he's not going to do the public engagements.
Also depending on the treatment your immune system can be seriously compromised so crowded places have to be avoided.
No it isn't ... I had Cyber Knife for my Malignant Prostate cancer and it was 1 hour per day for 5 days fully clothed... Piece of cake...2017
No one should expect the King to do public engagements anytime soon. Let the man rest. He desperately needs to avoid any stress.

I had cancer at around 52. All cut clean and gone. My gratitude.
I'm now 68. During my recuperation, I took a holistic course on diet and was put on several vitamins. The immune system must stay strong. And one way is to avoid stress. It's not always possible, but I remind myself whenever I get to that point to chill, breathe, and have a time out.
So yes, being given time to just not think about the pressure of the engagements will help greatly. It's often not the work itself, but the worries of the responsibilities.
I wish those who are going through any illness, to stay positive, and a speedy recovery.

He has lost his Great Grandmother, Grandmother, Grandfather, his mother (Princess Diana), his wife (Catherine) is recuperating from abdominal surgery, his brother (and his wife, Meghan) has acted dreadfully, maligned the reputation of TRF worldwide and is out-of-touch with the family, his Aunt-in-Law (Fergie) is recovering from one cancer and now dealing with a second, his Uncle Andrew hs brought great scandal and embarrassment to the family.. This week, William's Father (The King) has been diagnosed with cancer.
God Help The Royal Family, and All of Those around the world suffering great distress frrom Toxic Family Members, or/and trying to navigate the great, 'curse' of cancer!!

His brother has not acted dreadfully. Huge wife was treated dreadful and that hurt him. He has moved his family abroad since some in family could not tolerate the idea of a black/biracial woman in the royal family! Cancer patients receiving treatments should avoid crowds due to risk of infection -- so that medical advice is not surprising. One thing that I wish media stop doing is talking about Harry. The focus should be on the King's condition - not the entitled nasty son!

I too had the 1st cancer in 2018, I had a 7 kilo tumor cut out in a 7 hour operation they took my left kidney my spleen and large piece of pancreas, left with hundreds of inside stitches and 62 staples , in 2022 my husband was diagnosed with bladder cancer and in 2023 iwas diagnosed with cancer again , everything is going well , we are thankful , hope King Charles well and anyone else with this horrible disease , God Bless All ❤
