I've just started watching your channel, I've watched three of your videos this morning, they're excellent, so relaxing , I have a classic 350 myself and go camping and touring on it , I've done 7,500 miles on it since July '23 it's so addictive to ride , I hardly use my other bikes now ! @@AmanSidhu-u9d maintenance is easy, they're easy to look after and very reliable, there isn't any annoying vibration, but you can obviously feel the characterful thump of the engine ,it's what makes these bikes a pleasure to ride but they're smooth for a single .
@@ClassicRides I took my wife on the back of my classic for the first time yesterday, and I had my pannier bags full of gear , and it coped admirably, still ran along at 60mph with the traffic and uphill in the dales, it just required a lower gear occasionally, and she found it very comfortable as well! 😁🙌👍

@@ClassicRides I ride my classic 350 to work with a big tool bag on the back, and have to dismount the exact same way. Not to mention lifting my foot with my hands to push it over the seat when getting on... I guess we're both pretty cool guys

Thanks, glad to hear you enjoyed the video. Maintenance content isn't really something I'm planning on doing on the channel to be honest, I don't really have the space to film that sort of work in a decent way. But, perhaps it may be something that happens in the future.
Great vid Matt. More stuff than I carry, mate. Panniers and a single roll bag is all I take. But then I've got loads of hiking gear, so I'm used to back packing, and when you have to carry stuff, you soon learn to down size the amount. The Little j series solo Zen outings can't be beaten by any setup in my book. I sure as hell dont need a 12 grand adventure bike to have adventure's.
There’s not as much stuff as it looks, a pannier and a half is filled with camera gear, so pretty much everything goes into one duffle bag and a small backpack.
I camped off of my small motorcycle for the first time about a week and a half ago. Not so artistically done, but it was a fun experience I plan to do more of.
Just found you as I’m considering getting a RE classic or a HNTR 350 after my Harley Davidson Sporster passed away. I totally loved the vibes of the video and it and lightened the spark of hitting the road again. I love your camping set up. Maybe a video of what and how are you carrying it and advices for going camping on a motorbike? Already subscribed and looking for more. Regards from Spain.

I have been thinking about why it is necessary to have a big adventure bike like we have here in Finland, when the most common motorcycles in the world are small in cubic volume and are usually more comfortable to ride. I personally like the sound of that single-cylinder four-stroke, it has something soulful and simple freedom.
I love the waxed canvas. I wish I could do that here in the the California sun. I tried using a small waxed messenger bag about 10 years ago and it became a mess.
The secret is to use a very sharp knife and to slice the onion, no tears this way. Most people chop them which is how the onion vapor gets in your eyes 👍
Great video , rather dark at times though. Your camp cooking is better than mine 🤣🤣🤣 Due to old age sold my 2017 T120 Bonnie back in May as its too heavy for me now and bought a R.E. Classic 350 (Red and Chrome version) and whilst still running in rode it from Tarragona to outskirts of Madrid back in June for a few days camping. These little bikes behave well with motorway traffic (once run in), visited many places including Toledo 1500 kms for the round trip. Might try again in September as it still rather hot, 40* plus recently, down to mid 30's at the minute. 🥵🥵🥵
@@ClassicRides I would have kept the T120 as well if I was younger - mid 70's unfortunately. But my 1960 BSA A7 Shooting Star 500cc twin is still with me, most likely have a 'Viking Burial' with that one.

Thanks, glad you like the videos. The light is an old 1960's Lumax foglight, they're pretty common in the UK on ebay (which is where I got mine from), then the brackets and wiring I got from Amazon.
Of course your wonderful videos show that you can tour and camp successfully on a smaller bike, but how does it compare with the Triumph, and do you have a preference?
They're very different bikes so I'm not sure they're all that comparable. The Triumph is more of a limousine, everything is effortless and it does it with such a quality feel; whereas the Enfield is a lot rougher, you have to really work it to ride it, but it's fun because of it. If I could only have one I'd pick the Triumph for sure, but the Enfield is a very worthy stablemate.
Can I as what Panniers you used? Did you fit them yourself? I also have a broze classic and have been looking for the right panniers to fit, and I like yours a lot

Yeah you need way finer tinder to pull off a fire with just a ferro rod (shrubs or dried grass is perfect). But he pulled it off 👍

I 100% agree, giant ADV bikes seem a bit overkill for what they're usually used for, a little bike that's just enough is far better in my opinion.

Oil rather than wax would probably be better, though it’s only needed to waterproof the material which I imagine you don’t really need 🙂

nice vid editing very professional... bit of a gloomy camp spot..i cannot believe how much stuff you got on the bike... and i couldnt relax without the bike in sight... and i cannot stand anything draped on my shoulders when riding.. but very enjoyable watch.... good one

Thanks, glad you like the videos. The light is an old 1960's Lumax foglight, they're pretty common in the UK on ebay (which is where I got mine from), then the brackets and wiring I got from Amazon.

Of course your wonderful videos show that you can tour and camp successfully on a smaller bike, but how does it compare with the Triumph, and do you have a preference?
They're very different bikes so I'm not sure they're all that comparable. The Triumph is more of a limousine, everything is effortless and it does it with such a quality feel; whereas the Enfield is a lot rougher, you have to really work it to ride it, but it's fun because of it. If I could only have one I'd pick the Triumph for sure, but the Enfield is a very worthy stablemate.
