Well I was there at Wembley 1986 in the crowd, 17 years old, with my dad, supporting acts, The Alarm, INXS and the Quo! One of the best days of my life [got married and had two kids since, that was pretty cool], I was right down at the front. Dads passed now I never really ever thanked him enough, please all learn from this. Thanks dad! xx What a moment of history it became. Amazing, thanks Freddie and all, big kiss, and thanks Dad! What a tune this is!
It just amazes me how they cheer after being able to sing Freddie's song to him when they paid to hear him sing. Everyone loved Freddie and it was an honor to sing to him or to just be in his presence. .
Thanks Salvo...this was a real treat for me. What could be more perfect than hearing Brian's flawless 12-string acoustic guitar paired with Freddie's unmatchable voice. I love all of your reactions...and I know when a song just hits you...I can see it in your eyes. And I know that you only say the word "special" for extraordinary performances...and you said that word tonight. I agree...THIS IS SPECIAL.
I love how music takes you to another realm, you could be having the worst day but when Freddie starts singing it's all forgotten while he captivates your heart and soul. What a gift to have that amount of talent and to be able to inspire a reaction from the audience like only he can. He is so missed.
I love that queen now has a video of Freddie singing and they play it while he plays guitar and 50 years later every crowd always comes through to sing their part just like this crowd did.
Freddie's vocals and his connection to the audience . something very few have. I saw a version of this song with Brian May and Freddie's vocals & image on video. It was really cool..
I prefer the lovely harmonies in the studio version but never tire of the simple beauty of the live performances. Check out “Good Old Fashioned Lover Boy (lyric video.) Thanks.
I recently started following you because of your Queen reactions. I would love to see you react to some songs that Freddy did with Montserrat Caballe, the opera singer. Specifically, Exercises in free love, which is the demo tape that Freddy sent to Montserrat for her approval. In the demo Freddy sings her part. Then the song it became which is Ensueno.
always hurry to see a Queen reaction. They are incredible live! They also don't block videos downloaded from the official Queen youtube channel, another reason to love them.
You just wonder what was going through Freddie's mind when the audience was singing to him? One of the greatest things that could happen at a concert. And to see Brian playing a 12 string guitar is a treat❤❤
I was at the concert that followed this one in 1986. The venue was Knebworth and it was the last concert that Queen ever performed with Freddie. It was an absolutely incredible day and performance. Will never forget it and I realise how lucky I was to have seen them live. There’s no-one like Freddie! ❤
My God, how I miss him. Thank you for your reactions to Queen, I always get emotional but I like it. I highly recommend beautiful song "Mother Love" from album Made In Heaven which was released in 1995, after Freddie's death. "Mother Love" is the last song with his voice recorded in May 1991. The last verse was sung by Brian May because Freddie was unable to return to the studio.
Loved this. A voice with only an acoustic guitar. And over 70,000 rapt fans. I think this was at the end of Live Aid, it’s now dusk….when Freddie and Brian came back onstage to sing a couple of acoustic songs. But I could be misremembering
This particular performance was at Wembley Stadium during Queen's Magic Tour in the summer of 1986. Brian and Freddie came back onstage for the finale of Live Aid (1985) to sing "Is This the World We Created?" which was a beautiful and very relevant way to end the Live Aid concert. In many concerts, the two songs are often performed together with only Brian and Freddie on stage. I love seeing them together ... two multi-talented musicians and beautiful songwriters... to me they are magic together.
@@lindamaclellan4899 agreed. And thank you for the clarification. I could not remember the title of the other song but I remember it was beautiful…and apt. You should suggest it to Salvo. He would LOVE it!
Thank you. I love this song, the pure simplicity of it. Every time they performed it, it was different, largely due to the varying intensity of the audience's participation. You should also go watch the performance of the song at the Montreal concert in '81, and then the Rock in Rio concert in '85 to see how differently it went, all due to the individual audiences...... And lastly, find a more current performance, with Brian singing as he plays the guitar, and involving the audience, and then see Freddie joining in on the big screen... which moves everyone present, including Brian...
Thank you for this post .because now I`m happy about every new post from Freddy and Queen that appears . many many thanks .Queen is my lifeblood . Greetings from germany
Yay! Love Queen. Please check out some of their more experimental music like Good Old Fashioned Lover Boy, Lilly of the Valley, The Millionaire Waltz, Cool Cat, Spread Your Wings, Killer Queen, I Want It All, & Cold Stone Crazy. Also check out Freddie’s opera duet album Barcelona. Masterful!
Queen revisited songs to determine if/how they could deliver in a fresh way live. They simplified this song in such a way to make an arena feel like an intimate space. Yes, it is a great shot on stage with him and the light hitting him. At this time, concerts were taking their toll... I see his pale coloring - yet with perfect control, he sings. It brings a lump to my throat, every time.
There's an absolutely heartbreaking version recorded from a more modern concert where Brian plays live versus archive footage of Freddie. .I challenge anyone to watch it without bawling their eyes out.. thank you for your reaction videos, I hope you continue to enjoy your voyages into new (to you) music.
as a queen fan, I was so blessed to see their only ever performance in NZ, back in 85.....unfortunately, most of the kiwi fans did not know the lyrics of this song - poor old Brian May had to try and prompt us - still, we could not sing as well as Freddie....there was a surprise cameo from the lead vocalist of Spandau Ballet, Tony Hadley, to sing Jailhouse Rock / Tutti Fruitti
sorry for the lack of a reply - I've bee ill for a few days - I also do not have telegram installed bw, I am on the other side of the globe, so I am happy to re-gift the item back - I get enough rewards from likes and replies
You should follow this up with a tour video on how Queen/Brian May performs this song now. It's a beautiful tribute. Last month, I was in a stadium, with Brain, Roger, and Adam, and you can still feel Freddy all around. Try Rhapsody Tour Birmingham.
This a really great performance of the song! Thanks for all the reactions, and might want to consider some early Queen with Liar live at the Rainbow or Father to Son. Earlier on they were much heavier than the Queen of the 80's. Again, thanks!
OMG!! Nobody does it better!! Saw Queen + Adam Lambert last month and Brian May did the honors .. then in the last verse Freddie shows up (hologram) and sings the last verse! Stunning moment and yes, I ugly cried. 😩 Thank you so much!!
Thank you for your great reaction. I hope you also do theLove of my life -Rovk in Rio. The audience seranades Freddie. Amazing moment and performance! Love Freddie forever!❤❤
Great reactions generally, you are so sensitive and thoughtful. Queen were always very careful how the concerts were recorded that's why and how e have so many of their early work. I've been a fan since 1971,yes I'm 😮 that old! The media and critics really didn't like queen and the suffered badly because of it. However the fans always stayed loyal and still do. The band always knew it was the fans that made them and they always respected that, never refusing to sign autographs etc. Another way they paid back their fans was to use them as extras in their music videos. Queen achieved a lot of firsts First music video with Bo rap First rock concert in south America First rock concerts behind the old iron curtain First band where all 4 members have written number 1 songs. Some suggestions for you all live Liar the rainbow 1974 Now I'm here Wembley Saturday night concert. Rock and roll melodies both in 1977 and 1986 I was delighted when Freddie was able to full fear his dream to sing opera, blessings from England xx
now freddie's gone this performance always brings me to tears. i have seen a couple of vids where brian may sings this on stage by himself(i'm guessing the band use this time for a backstage break?)near the end they play freddie on the screen behind brian,he reaches out like he's gonna touch freddie's hand. you can see brian is emotional and so am i.
Great performance. Great reaction. Love Freddy.A month or so ago you did a reaction to Dire Straits which is one of the best live performances ever. If you want to hear another great live performance listen to Adagio by Lara Fabian from her famous concert in Montreal called From Lara With Love. All of her live versions are better than the studio versions. That concert in particular is sensational.
I think it's interesting that an English band named their album after an American movie. Talk about random. I love everything Queen, especially this song.. But my favorite song is Killer Queen. I hope you listen to it someday, Salvo.
Yes, to sprinkle these moments throughout your journey. ……. But you’ve done the entire Zeppelin discography, right? I seem to recall that…or perhaps I’m confusing you with several other reactors I watch who have. And most of Pink Floyd?
Freddie vocals are very shaky in this performance. Back in 85 most of thought it was an o.k. performance by queen . I think most thought dire strights took the night . But hey a movie and legenend have clouded people's reagction to this show. Anyway ,thats a perspective of a teen who watched the whole concert live on t.v. for what its worth.
Freddie turns his ass to the audience as a reminder to manager Norman Sheffield who ripped them off in the early days....then their career took off..... hey! Norman look what you missed out on😂🤩
Audiences were more present and invested when there weren't any cellphones.
And performers were talented
yep
just thinking that !!
Freddie always meant it when he said I still love you. And we still love him.
OMG, it still
Makes me cry. Beautiful.
me too

What a tune this is!
He may be gone, but he left us all his phenomenal voice. RIP FREDDIE MERCURY 1946-1991, 11/24/1991 he was only 45. ❤
It just amazes me how they cheer after being able to sing Freddie's song to him when they paid to hear him sing. Everyone loved Freddie and it was an honor to sing to him or to just be in his presence. .
The way he controlled the crowds like a maestro.. He was, is and will always be the best of his generation. RIP Freddy💜🙏
So special. What a fucking legend!
I always tear up a little bit when I see this performance. I still miss Freddie!
Best frontman ever.❤
Thanks Salvo...this was a real treat for me. What could be more perfect than hearing Brian's flawless 12-string acoustic guitar paired with Freddie's unmatchable voice. Oh man... Gets me every time. 😢 He was just a special human being in every way, and is still greatly missed. ❤
Great version! This song was written about Mary Austin.
Don't get better than Freddie one of the best if not the best rock front men ever
I love how music takes you to another realm, you could be having the worst day but when Freddie starts singing it's all forgotten while he captivates your heart and soul. What a gift to have that amount of talent and to be able to inspire a reaction from the audience like only he can. He is so missed.
This is my favourite version of the song. I love Freddie's powerful voice, how he sings with his whole body and Brian's guitar play is so fine.
I love how entranced the audience is, he's probably the only artist who's audience would sing to him.
This performance get’s me every time ❤
The evolution of this song is a great story in and of itself. Illustrates the power of Brian & Freddie together.
Saw them 3 times. Unforgettable. Wish you could have seen them live. I still miss Freddie and his beautiful voice.
Outstanding performance by freddie his voice give me chills every time I listen and brian guitar is out of this world ❤❤
My favorite by Freddie. ❤🌈🌈
I was there, what a night. The best gig I ever went to. Freddie loved his rapport with the crowd.
Thanks for sharing...how wonderful for you to have experienced this perfect moment in time.
Brian is such an accomplished guitarist with his own sound as well as able to handle a beautiful acoustic piece like this.
I love that queen now has a video of Freddie singing and they play it while he plays guitar and 50 years later every crowd always comes through to sing their part just like this crowd did.
One of the best song of Freddie Mercury & Queen Band
Freddie's vocals and his connection to the audience . something very few have. I saw a version of this song with Brian May and Freddie's vocals & image on video. It was really cool..
I love the reaction channels because I can listen to the songs of my youth thru “new ears”
Exactly.
Thanks for this tribute...to freddie
I prefer the lovely harmonies in the studio version but never tire of the simple beauty of the live performances.
Check out “Good Old Fashioned Lover Boy (lyric video.) Thanks.
It’s the Christmas season. Treat yourself to Queen’s Christmas song, Thank God It’s Christmas!

As Freddie said, you can use any of my music… as long as it’s not boring …

Your info and care for the artists you react too really moves me- you pegged Freddie perfectly- thank you so much Salvo❤

Fabulous reaction, thank you! This was always one of my favourites! Freddie & Brian, outstanding! Love from Oz🇦🇺

Consider now the crowd singing this song to Freddie for Freddie. Always gets me choked up seeing this after his death.

Great vocals, but wow Brian May plays acoustically with such feeling. The way they captured the attention of a crowd was stunning.
