- How to get more views on your ebay listings? That's what everyone wants to know. We have tried listing items every day, using good keywords, fast and free shipping, promoted listings, and running sales, all while being in top rated status. These methods do work however, we all want more views on our products to increase sales. For one whole month we are trying something different and so far it has been working. Check out todays UA-cam video and see what we did to make our items sell faster.
Thanks Roy...your the BEST teacher!!! You always offer the most informative information. I love your channel!
Thanks I appreciate your comment.
You and Kim are the best. I see other UA-camrs make videos but there is NO learning and INSITE on running a bussiness. Great work “OUR” friend. Thanks Roy.
I appreciate ya Freddy👍
You might be the best on UA-cam trying to explain things about eBay. I THANK YOU, Sir!!
I appreciate your comment and support.😁👍
@@RKTreasureCenter I am hooked on your channel, and still watching your videos. Many Thanks!
The accountant in me is completely appreciating your number crunches in this video, Roy! After doing some number crunching (after making some inquiries to you!) I came to this conclusion, as well. I am going to do a test run of stopping the 10% discount sale and seeing how just promoted listings go. I usually do both. So it will be interesting to see the results. Wonderful information and teaching here, Roy - thank you so much!
Sure, give a try. You can always change back.😁👍
Thank you so much for showing me this breakdown. I had already scheduled a Sale to start tomorrow for the whole month of July. I've gone in and took off my Best Offers and deleted my Sale. I am doing what you did with the promoted listings and see if that will help my sells increase. Thank you again for sharing you experiments. I love watching your channel. Keep up the great work Roy!!! :)
For sure.....give it a try for a while. You can always cancel it and do the sale later.😁👍
@@RKTreasureCenter well you can't cancel if you aren't on sellers hub
Great breakdown. Solid food for thought. Thank you. Thumbs up!
Thanks for watching👍
Thanks Roy, very understandable and enjoyable!
Thank you very much Janis.😁👍
Terrific learning opportunity. Thank you for taking your time to share this information!!
Glad you watched.👍
Thanks . Learning so much from you.
Thank you so much.👍
Thanks again for your great advice..appreciated.
😁👍
Thanks so much for breaking down the #s for us! This was very educational! I really don't want to give Ebay anymore money, but I am going to try it out on some items that I really need to get rid of. Thanks for the video!!
Lots of luck to you.
Thank you so much for doing this! I run weekly sales and was really losing money! This is a great breakdown that is real!
Thank you Pauline. I appreciate your comment.👍
Thank you for the information! Love your teaching! Hi to Kim! 💖
Hello Sandy

Great info, thank you so much!!!😸
Thanks for your support Ivan👍
I am a newbie in this eBay ball game. I am learning a lot from you and your follower's comments. Thanks to all. Keep up the great work. All the best...
Thank you Tony
I certainly will try it. Thank you.
It's worth giving ot a try.
@@RKTreasureCenter absolutely
Great video thank you very smart.
Probably just as smart as anyone else...lol...thanks for watching.👍
Enjoy your videos, always learn something. Tried the promoting listing, didn’t see much of a difference in sell rate , saw a big difference in profit rate in the down direction . That’s my take, your mileage may vary
Thanks for sharing. 👍
What are your thoughts on eBay raising the minimum required promoted listing rate to 2%? I’ve traditionally just promoted all of my listings at 1% because that’s about what I save with my top rated final value fee discount. But if everyone who promotes at 1% is required to go up to 2%, I feel like eBay is just getting more money and my listings aren’t going to stand out any more than they do now
2% really is that much.
@@RKTreasureCenter it’s another eBay scam to get more money out of people. They are increasing revenue without actually increasing fees. That’s literally the bottom line here.
Thank you! 👏👏👏😊
Glad you watched.😁👍
Great info as usual. I have a question. First class shipped USPS packages have no insurance on them. Cost to add up to 100.00 is 1.70. I mailed a package first class valued at 50.00 without insurance. USPS tracking showed item picked at my mailbox. But no other activity. 8 days and it must be lost. Do you insure your First class packages? Please help. Charles from Paris Texas.
I do not insure my first class packages. In fact I don't insure many at all unless it's a very high priced item. Wait at least 10 days. Your item may have moved by then. Hopefully it does. I assume you called the post office. Best of luck to you.
@@RKTreasureCenter thanks
Thank you
😁👍
One thing I've done to get a short term boost is to put my actual Ebay/Etsy listing up on Facebook marketplace. This works especially well if you are selling multiples of an item. I do offer local pickup without Ebay this way too but most people I find on FB simply are clickers not pickers so they simply look at your item on Ebay which increases your viewer count dramatically. Since your item on Ebay is getting the most views it moves to the top of the search list. The only problem with this is it only works for a few days as there are so many listings on FB that it bumps down the page so fast after a few days and no one looks at it. I know this works as I will almost immediately see a sales boost but its from the other side of the country and not locally.
Do what works the best. It's all about getting stuff sold.😁👍
@@RKTreasureCenter Or, as Larry the Cable Guy says.. "Git-R-Done"! :D
cool vlog
Hi Roy, love your vids and content, I learn alot from you. FYI, eBay allows 45 days long sales. About the taxes, I always thought they were charged to the buyer, not the seller. Correct me if I'm wrong, but doesn't ebay just add the amount of taxes to the final order, and pass it on to the State? I don't believe it is added to your cost. Thanking you in advance.
Thanks for sharing. Yes it's 45 days your right. I talked to fast and didn't catch myself. As for the taxes...I should have clarified and said ebay collects taxes. As for taxes and fees...eBay is charging the seller when items are sold, the EXTRA ON TOP selling fee of 12.55% on the tax amount they collect from the Buyer.
Thus, eBay is making 12.55 % on the tax they are collecting to the seller. You can find this on the taxes and fees of a sold item. Thanks for watching and commenting.😁👍
Yes, eBay literally takes their cut percentage off sales tax also. This is a legal scam. It’s absolutely abhorrent but nothing anybody can do about it.
A bad thing i noticed with promoted suggested percentages is that they used to say what the cost was. So i would use change my promote percent to a agreeable dollar amount. Now it is a guess what that charge is versus the different percentages (up and down).
I capped mine at no more than 10% its really not bad as most are 3 to 5% better than running a 15% sale for sure.
That was back when the fee was only based of the list price only. I believe it now covers list price, shipping and sales tax in what the total fee will be.
Do you have a video on how you use suggested promoted listings on eBay. If so, how do I find the video?
I'm gonna make one soon on how I set it up.
I changed all my listings to 10% and I didn’t sell anything and my views fall threw rate tanked. After two weeks of watching everything on the graph continue to tank and no sales I finally changed my promoted listing to pause. Immediately got sales and spiked my graph. (The graph that shows click threw rate, impression, etc) worked for a bit until the 2% promotional hike that started at the beginning of July. Now I have all my listings at 2.1% and selling not much of anything. And yes I’m still constantly and consistently listing
I hope things change for you soon. 10% is high. Even ebay suggested is usually but 4 to 6 percent for most items. Lots of luck to you for sales.
Does eBay charge promoted listings cost even if the item doesn’t sell?
Nope only if it sells on promoted. There is no cost or fee for promoting and item.👍
where do i cap the promoted at the 10% ?
You can change the number to 10 when looking at the suggested promoted during the listing of each item or in the bulk edit.
Hi Roy how have you guys been , wow I thought you put 1% that’s what I do so now do the suggested do you make more than 1 % you use to do? Ok thank you so much 👼🌻🧚🏿♂️🐕🐣🥑🌼🌺🌼I have to watch you other videos
Hello, yes I'm do suggested price for over a month now. I am not running any sales at this time and it seems to be working well. I capped the suggested listing price at 10%....but most of the suggested listing is 4 to 5 percent. Very soon ebay is going to require no less than 2%. Keep this in mind to stay competitive.
Rule of thumb is, 1/3 of your gross profit are ebay fees, shipping cost, cog etc
For sure. 👍
First to comment!
Hi Freddy
how long did it take to get sales on promoted?
I'd say about 24 hrs and then boom.
so did you do 100 percent of your listings?
Yes. For 1 month to see how well it works. So far it's been good. I'm selling stuff that's been sitting around for a while and not just the recent listings.
Are you saying that you don't send any offers? Also do you just list your items at a fixed price without offering best offers? Enjoyed your video. Thanks
He said that in the vlog
I will probably do send offers, but this seems to be doing well.
ebay charges taxes to the customer.. so are you saying ebasy is charging us for the taxes on the item? did you know its against the law to tax an item twice? my x was a cpa he told me that
I did say charge, however I should have said ...the collect the taxes and pays them. But it still is subtracted from our total.👍
@@RKTreasureCenter hmmm
You are not taxed twice. You do pay both final value and promoted item fees on the total amount of a transaction (item + shipping + tax collected).
@Roy. Nice breakdown, but you should be figuring the fvf ans promo fees on the total transaction amount. I may be wrong but you made it sound like you pulled the shipping charged to customer out of your calculations.
@@robsomething4435 yes I probly didn't explain it as well as I had hoped.
if you priced in 30%~50% into your price when you list the item, I'm not sure if it is going to work or not. Buyer are smarter now
Ive Been doing ebay over 10 yrs and reselling before then. If I buy it for a dollar and sell it for 10 knowing it's worth 15 to 18 retail. I will generally find a buyer. Thanks for commenting and watching. 👍
We waited like watching Batman for this vlog ...so when's the next one?
I dunno....😁
@@RKTreasureCenter awwww come on
i did consignment 3 times in my life ..all 3 were loser waste. stuff gets stolen, they charge 30 to 40 percent.. just a rip
That's why I stopped as well.
theres a nurse here that puts auction storage stuff in a consignment store ..she pays 400 a month out and i told her thats huge money.. better off doing macebook market place pick up cash or ebay.
Right....I highest one charges a flat $250 just for the booth alone.
@@RKTreasureCenter so we are all in the wrong biz then? Some folks making out like bacon
Yeah but a consignment store you don't have to worry about shipping items or the cost of shipping the items or the materials to pack the items up you're not mentioning anything about that
Your correct. You don't have to do any shipping. I did explain the shipping in the end and the combination was more profitable. Like I said in the video if you do consignment and it works for you. Then by all means....go for it. Thanks for your comment.👍
Better not to run sale
Maybe one in a blue moon.
