Thank you for your response I appreciate all the information I just wish I could understand everything that you talk about with your gadgets that help you list I'm not really very tech savvy and I think you have to be. Love watching you, Linda
I have two cents to add to your process. So if you use a slant canvas for placing your items on then you do not have to take the item down to do measurements, also if you put a sticker on the shirt itself during your process then you do not have to place it in a bag immediately nor do you have to take an additional photo of it after you place it in the bag. I have found that laying all of the shirts out and bagging them seperately does create a little extra work but I feel that it ensures that the clothing is much more uniform and neat when all you focus on is the bagging. Again just my two cents. Last thing, I configured my mobile phone to automatically save my pics to onedrive so I do not have to do any transfer.
Hey Martin, thanks for the great comment. I like the slant canvas idea, but I think when I built this one I tried that angle and long jeans were the issue in capturing a photo comfortably. The sticker and separate bagging seems to be equal or less efficient. The photos to one drive is a tremendous idea! I need to consider trying this method. Do you ever lose photos that way?
Mr. Martin. Is something like this good use for Google Photos so they are automatically uploaded and no transfer time? Then download to external HD periodically?

I have found using the eBay app on my phone to be much more efficient way to complete a listing and add the photos.
My process is similar to yours except for a few things: My label has a place to add measurements (I made the label using Dymo) , I take a photo of the SKU on bag first, then take my photos, I use an old ironing board with a measuring tape taped on it for measurements that is almost waist high, I write the measurements on the label, weigh the item and add this to the label, I add any important info like flaws, style, etc, to the top of the SKU label, then I take a picture of the SKU label again. The reason I take two photos of the SKU is because I've accidently mixed clothes up before. I am red/green colorblind and sometimes colors just look alike. The two SKU photos allow me to keep these photos separate (I know where the next listing begins and ends). I also add measurements, weight, and other info to the SKU label because it makes it easier when I'm listing the item (instead of looking through all my photos, I have one basic photo with most of the info on it.)

Hello from Germany 🙂... I am new here ... In our E-Bay-Store we press "sell similar" and as soon as we change the title it also changes on the down , no more need to coppy over there
Welcome Kristen from Germany! I've noticed an update where when the title changes eBay provides quick select boxes to fill the listing which helps. Thank you for letting me know and watching!
hey there Taylor! Great video and new subscriber here. What is the Google extension you were saying? Text Play? Do you have a link? Can't seem to find it. Thanks!
😊 why do you save your listings till later instead of posting them right away? And once you have it in the bag you never take it out of the bag you seal the bag and put it in your inventory box?
I like seeing the count that get posted. Sometimes I source less in the week and end up saving some drafts for the next day. I don’t seal them because occasionally the bag needs to be taken out to have the item fall under a shipping weight. Say from 8.2oz minus the bag it’s 8oz 👍
I have to adjust the lighting on my pictures which slows me down and it’s so frustrating. You don’t seem to have that problem. Do you have any suggestions thanks
Hi Sheila, Yes, it is already striped down way to list. I use a basic cable to transfer photos. It takes 3-5 for 300-500 photos! I usually just take a break at that point!
Hello! I really enjoyed this video. Would you mind sharing where you purchased your cardboard storage boxes at or possibly the measurements? Thank you!!!
Hey Jessica, i appreciate that! I recently uploaded a video about my inventory you will find the answers you seek there! ...or I'll just tell you. 8x8x30 boxes from Uline.
I am STILL very confused about the titling process for clothes. Not sure what to put in the blank first in sequential order. As a result, a lot of my items are not seen search blanks. I really need help in this department.
@@TaylorExchange Can you give me an example template of this? Also, are there any other videos to watch on ebay about title listing ORDER for clothes on ebay that you recommend? Thank you.
I'll have to make a video about that. It's much too many steps to type in here. I can tell you it took my a few hours to figure it out. I couldn't find a simple video explaining the process so now that you have asked I will create one. It will be a while though I have other video ideas lined up. Thanks for the video idea.
Thanks for the video. I'm not a clothes guy but I am chewing on- selling the +130 good condition items that my kids no longer wear, so your video does help. Ebay made changes a while ago, you can't make templates anymore and it defaults to calculated shipping. Each. And. Every. Time. Called ebay and they shrugged their shoulders. *UPDATE* I think I have a workaround. Bulk edit and change calculated to flat rate + add my shipping cost.
In reviewing your shop, it looks like you take at least some pictures of clothes laying down rather than hanging up. Was this as switch that you made? If so, why? I'm trying to decide which way works best for me.
How do you drag the pictures across from the other screen? We use Mac. Also, how do you get the photo background app, photo room, for free. I want to export the picture and they want me to subscribe. Thanks
These boxes are 8x8x30. Make sure to measure out your shelves to make sure the box you buy fits. Uline has a lot of different size boxes that is where I go these.
Excellent video Sean! It's amazing how important being efficient is as a fully time ebay reseller. I've been doing it full time for six years in the electronics category, and have a similar but different process as I am dealing with a lot of lenses and glass that causes reflections. A+
Whenever I'm shooting anything reflective or glossy, I shut off the lights in the room and hold a bare bright white flood LED lamp in my left hand and move it and the camera all around until that perfect shot presents itself on the screen, then say "cheese" so my phone automatically snaps the pic without me possibly ruining the shot by having to squeeze the volume or tap the screen. You'd be amazed how well it works, the flood light fills in shadows if you've got a white backdrop and I usually find the sweet spot in less than 5 seconds. I also keep a bag of microfiber rags handy and a 1 liter spray bottle with a custom made solvent cleaner that's 10% water, 89.9% rubbing alcohol (99%) and 5 drops/ .1% of dawn concentrated dish soap.
@@anthonyisaacson9234 You sound like a pro! The items I sell are pretty cheap so I wouldn't go through the trouble for the perfect I photo. I do need to learn about lighting to improve these videos. Thanks for giving me something to think about!

Thanks for the helpful info! Is there a way you transfer your photos from your phone (iPhone) to your PC quickly? This is something that takes up too much time for me.
Yes, same for me. I started creating listing first and then directly adding photos to my listing to cut out the photo transfer stage. I’m probably missing the reason why this isn’t the best method but I remain to be convinced.

Did you ever try to list direct from the phone on the EBay app ? I found myself the easiest way to edit the pictures, then to list it. Can you share how do you list your items on Excel?
Hey Andra Jo, I have never tried listing from my phone. I do not edit any of my pictures and I do not use an inventory tracker on Excel. The only thing I use Excel for is printing out my custom labels for my inventory.
@@TaylorExchange You should, way easier. Besides, in most cases, 2-3 pics is way more than sufficient to get an item sold. We forget most buyers are not restricted to shopping just our listings...if an item has 20+ comps one is 100% wasting their time doing anything beyond disclosure-measurements, correct price, and 2-3 pics. leverage others work and focus on the "I want to buy now" shopper. Price and a laser focused title and placement. When sorting hauls do so with phone or pc at the top of your mind. If it is a Brunello Cucinelli Jacket its PC and a good solid hour listing. If it's PRL red shirt with a hole, its phone or putting it back on the racket 100%.
@@johndough23 Na I don't think 2-3 would be enough. It is cool to hear other peoples methods. I've seen plenty of listings with a few photos and they've probably gotten some success. @@TaylorExchange Hi, When I mention to edit picture, I mean you can brighten, crop the picture and even to remove the background direct on the eBay app as EBay introduced these tools for making out life easier when listing. It is extremely fast, more than doing this on Computer. Anyway, do you use any inventory platform for your goods?
Question: Are you opted in to the new International shipping program, I hear that it is affecting seller sales that it has glitches. I know that eBay opted my store in automatically and my sales have dropped, just wanted to know if that is the case for you? Thank you love the vids.
I have to check but I believe I’m opted in. I had a slow sales day recently but I think it was because a customer put in 12 returns on his bulk order 😑 customer had yet to send the items back so fingers crossed the case just ends up closing. But other than that my sales have been normal.

I am trying to speed up the process. Please give your opinion. thanks
Hi Susan, I'm glad to hear you like my video. On my iPhone 7+ I click into the DCIM folder and then a single Folder pops up and all my photos are in there. I only use this phone for photos so I'm not to sure what you are seeing on your end. Sorry I couldn't be of more help.
I know there is a lot of videos on this out there, but would love to see one of you just quick 2 mins importing photos! Maybe content idea on how to simplify and dumb it down. thanks
Thank you Colorado. I use a cable. I transfer all the photos to a new folder. Once they are transfered I copy them to another folder with the date to have a back up. At the end up the month I transfer the month folder with all the photos to an external hard drive. Just in case eBay loses the photos.

Hello, I’m new to your channel and enjoyed this video. I was wondering how are your sales for your polo shirts? You don’t use all the item specifics so I wanted to know if you still get a lot of sales. I fill out most the tabs but I think you could be right that buyers don’t want to look through the item specifics. Also it would save me precious time when listing. Thanks again 👊🏻✌🏻
Hi Brett, I'm glad your liking the video. I was thinking of doing a sales video for last year but I'm working on a couple different ones first. My top line last year was $193k and the polo category consisted of $19k abut 10% of my sales. This seems good but the data tells me a lot of my polos are not selling. My store is largely tops. I may start being more selective on which ones I pick up. I think price and photos are the most important part of the listing.
Thanks for the content - I'm moving on to try clothing after 25+ years selling hard goods and media. The Text Blaze tip is a great one and I installed it and have added some condition notes.
@@TaylorExchange What I really like about Text Blaze is that you can organize your snippets into folders to keep things organized for like separate snippets for different platforms.
Just stumbled across your channel and enjoying your content. I noticed you sell a lot of items for super cheap. Do you make any profit off something that sells for $3.99? If not, what's the strategy behind your pricing? Thanks in advance!
Ah yes those sales... So I will better explain in future videos, but all items have $8.99 shipping so on that $3.99 plus $8.99 shipping I may profit a couple bucks. When selling high volume these sale are important because your make you initial investment back and a few bucks. It also leads to people buying multiple items and keeps the total number of items at a manage number.
Good vid: just to comment: listing title again in description - I don't think this is necessary - you can reduce this one step from your listing creation.
Hey Carlos, It's tough in some cities. I mix up my purchases woth lower dollar items and lower dollars sales but my average buy cost is between $3.50-$4
I wonder if it would simply be better to memorize sales stats and pass on a shirt which in better condition brings $8+/- of net profit and has a 20% STR using the item specifics used in your title? This is what I struggle with...avoiding crap when sourcing. Does anybody know if there is a phone app which will tell you yea or nay, like AMZ has for eBay? If say you only want to source 50% STR items, be swell if there was an app which judged this for me while sourcing based on my presets. My old brain can only store so much sales data.
I hear you John. With the variables of used clothing I doubt their will be a yay or nay app. This is the true skill of selling is figuring out what sells! I've been in clothes for almost 2 years and I need to purge about 2k items this spring. Just too many bad buys. With UA-cam taking up a lot of my time now, I'm considering changing up my strategy away from the volume game. Thanks for the comment.

Excellent video Sean! It's amazing how important being efficient is as a fully time ebay reseller. I've been doing it full time for six years in the electronics category, and have a similar but different process as I am dealing with a lot of lenses and glass that causes reflections. A+
Thanks Prickly.
6 years is a long time, you must be doing something right!
I can see that being a challenge photographing glass and lenses.

@@TaylorExchange You should, way easier. Besides, in most cases, 2-3 pics is way more than sufficient to get an item sold. My top line last year was $193k and the polo category consisted of $19k abut 10% of my sales.

Good point
How much are you paying for most of your shirts? If I don’t sell my clothing for at least $15 I don’t make any profit?
Hey Carlos,
It's tough in some cities.
