It's an interesting comparison between Range Rover and Bentayga, but the Bentayga probably deserves to be compared with the DBX more than the Range Rover. In that contest, and I say this as an Aston fan, you'd buy the Bentayga over the DBX. Last time I drove a Range Rover, the level of roll put me off pretty much for life. I'm sure they've improved things since then, but that would be my key concern if choosing between the two. I also don't like the way you feel so exposed to the outside world as you do in the Range Rover. So, for me, I think the Bentayga would be the way to go. That said; this review suggests the ride is maybe compromised too much for all the other things the Bentayga does well. Why not buy a road car instead, as the reviewer suggests? Well, for a daily, maybe you want the easier access and command drive position. And, as a used proposition, you can get into a Bentayga significantly cheaper than the comparable modern Bentley road cars. The Bentayga, I think, is also less in your face and ostentatious than the other Bentleys. The other three high end SUVs of note are the Aston, Urus...and Cayenne. The Urus is blingtastic and the sportiest. The Aston, I think, sits between the Bentayga and the Urus. It's the most bespoke and has some nice engineering touches that are on display as art, but for me, I don't like the way that Aston has abandoned its own engines. I also don't like how the Urus employs an Audi engine. Although, I fully acknowledge that both engines are tremendous in their own right. And, well, the Cayenne is unremarkable in this company, except that it's significantly cheaper than the rest, which maybe should bring it into contention if considering buying the others second-hand. For me, the Aston remains in consideration, despite its AMG engine because of the bespoke engineering as art touches, but I would need to wait until its prices drop significantly on the used market. I love the look of the Urus, but they are expensive, and have surprisingly become relatively common. And, if I were to consider image, I don't think they display an image I personally would want to project. It's okay when driving a supercar, but I'm not sure drawing so much attention is what most people want in a daily. Then again, the others are hardly shrinking violets. So, for me personally, at this point in time, and from my perspective as a prospective used buyer, I think I'd be considering a Bentayga vs a new or used Cayenne. Ultimately, for me, I like the idea of the W12 -- even though it's VW/Audi derived, the Bentley version is significantly different, and is anyway a special engine -- and on the used market Bentaygas start around the GBP80K mark, which, of couse, is still a lot of money. The trouble with normal cars is that the manufacturers reduce the boot size, fuel tank volume and headroom with every new model. You're pretty much forced to buy an SUV these days.
The Range Rover is a 4x4 with road manners and useful luxury , the Bentley is a SUV with off road abilities that thinks its a sports car but is really a luxury barge in that department , if you REALLY NEED the luxury , then the Bentley may be your car but you may need to go to the Rolls Cullinan for that , that said , I think the Range Rover is still the one to beat off the beaten track and , if you look at the money , you can have a few for your Bentaga and a fleet of them for your Cullinan money .
Can't really see why you would test these two, Apart from the huge price difference you then have the reliability factor and then the sheer luxury of the Bentley. I would have the Bentayga over anything on the market. Just a shame they dropped the diesel one.
Both will be lovely customers in each factory. U going back to factory often, 2-times-a-year often to get this and that fixed. LX570 still the best, on road or off road.

Why not just buy a road car? Because in cities like NY no one wants to drive a road car stressing about every bump and pothole they encounter. This market for SUVs is replacing the market for road cars.
Not sure I understand how the RR's low belt line is such a plus. I understand that many people like light and airy, and of course I understand the greater visibility it provides. But it also means that the poeple inside are more exposed to the outside world, more like being in a goldfish bowl. To me at least, I don't want to be so exposed to being looked at by other people. I want to feel a little bit more "cocooned" from the outside world. I also think the rolypolyness of the RR is problematic. It used to be really really bad. And obviously it's still present, albeit hopefully to a much lesser extent than the last time I drove a RR. That experience put me off driving a RR. Yes, I like the tailgate you can sit on, and I don't mind the looks. The interiors are okay, not my idea of great luxury, but they are comfortable. And of course, RRs have serious off-road cred., but as so often said, most owners idea of off-road is the carpark at the races.
I think you need to drive on the motorway for 2 hours and tell us what it’s like on the road at a decent pace. Just chugging around country lanes doesn’t tell us much.
Bentley is a much much superior Vehicle then the Rover.. The only think People talks about is Rovers Offroad capability. But in Reality no even goes offroad. Bulid quality, brand value are more important. Whats makes Bentayga a far better option
Couldn't someone say the same or Range Rover? Just stick to off road? Times are changing Jeeves, and customer want more. If manufacturers ignore that, they won't survive. Not that long ago the mention of Bentley, Porsche, Rolls Royce -- and now Lamborghini -- even making an SUV would have been considered blasphemy. The only holdout at this point is Ferrari.
The seating position in a Range Rover is the key.. I don't know why no other company has duplicated that wonderful feature.

Why wouldn't you compare a Range Rover SV autobiography? I think that would be fair comparison? No?
Now matter how good your engineering y can't beat the original .....
For a price of a bentayga they should compare it with the 5.0 vogue autobiography LWB
Range Rover always a king of suv segment very stylish suv in the world
Can't really see why you would test these two, Apart from the huge price difference you then have the reliability factor and then the sheer luxury of the Bentley. I would have the Bentayga over anything on the market. Just a shame they dropped the diesel one.
There may be Cullinans and DBXs and Urus and Bentayga and Levantes, but nothing will ever replace the original Luxo off roaster: The Range Rover.
Would still take the one owned by VW over the one owned by Tata. And if I want my SUV to be the Range Rover type, I'd get the Cullinan.
Both will be lovely customers in each factory. U going back to factory often, 2-times-a-year often to get this and that fixed. LX570 still the best, on road or off road.
Whoever owns the Bentley they probably earn enough to buy a new one when the year is over
Any chance we'll ever see a review of a vehicle more than 1% of the population can afford?
You forgot to mention that the bentayga is OVER 200k... double the range
The range with options can go up to 220k
Fast enough, you mean?
'Presence' is king. Therefore RR is king.
Cullinan is the emperor... king will need to send his tribute
@@dlhussain81 cullinan is not as good looking as the Range Rover! Only thing cullinan has is the luxury name! ....and stars on the ceiling! My cousin owns a cullinan...it drives fantastic like no other! But the Range Rover definitely has the best wow factor! Exterior wise! It has a spectacular presence!
@@TheTruthVision beauty is in the eye of the beholder. To me most SUVs look like two boxes stuck together!
Jeez, whilst I do not want a clown presenting, I also do not want to fall into a coma! My goodness, that was a challenging watch.
SUV means it's Range Rover ; nobody would dare to off-road their Bentley SUV just buy a continental or flying spur if you want a Bentley
Man, the Range rover just puts all the luxury cars to shame isn't it?
But it’s the price difference that really makes the difference
You should’ve compared Bentley with Range Rover Vogue SV Autobiography, this is not something that can be compared
Bentley any day ( it won't break down ) lol 👍.
And twice on Sunday.
Range rover 💪💪 always above and beyond from everyone
I think if you take the top level Range Rover you can get a much nicer interior and I just think the Range Rover is better for of road
Range Rover always. If you don't get the Range Rover get the Range Rover.
Why not just buy a road car? Space, fashion, comfort, visibility, perception of safety.... we could go on.
Boot space? Off road capabilities? Driving position? 7 seats if needed? Plenty of reasons. Crossovers are pointless, not full SUVs.
These journalists don’t have a clue
Why not just buy a road car? Because in cities like NY no one wants to drive a road car stressing about every bump and pothole they encounter. This market for SUVs is replacing the market for road cars.
Long live JLR. RR all day.
Thank you Mr Tata for bailing this deadwood company using your Indian Rupees... 🤣🤣🤣
The boss is Range Rover and no one can beat
I’m just not prepared to pay over 200k for a car that now can be confused with a genesis
I think you need to drive on the motorway for 2 hours and tell us what it’s like on the road at a decent pace. Just chugging around country lanes doesn’t tell us much.
I love the look of them, but I would never own another Range Rover the unreliability is way too high.
Blue screen of death and ZX spectrum loading screen but no guru meditation...
be awesome comparo between a car maker legacy ecosystem ie VW Touareg v Porsche Cayenne et Audi, Bentley, Bugatti, Lamborghini, Porsche, SEAT, Škoda.
I saw Matt coming out of longcross test track in the Bentley a few weeks back.
It's not Bentley it's VW which achieves all of this
Bentley's and black leather don't work so well together
If your going to put two cars against one another then you should have put the best of the type so you get a even review
Onroad- i choose bent
Offroad-rangerover superior
Че по встречке ездите?
3.5t Bentley?!?
i still love the rangerover
Bentley is a much much superior Vehicle then the Rover..
The only think People talks about is Rovers Offroad capability. But in Reality no even goes offroad.
Bulid quality, brand value are more important. Whats makes Bentayga a far better option
A poor comparison when you factor in the price difference
Buy a Cayenne if you want a high Riding road car
Bentley and rolles Royce need to stick with making luxury saloons. Range rover is way better.
Bentley Bentayga, the ultimate in kitsch. Starting by the name, followed by design and finished with the interior.
The range rover needs more wood inside to compete.
lots a talking but very little feedback,a bit like land rover steering!
