Before yesterday when a D2 streamer chose to hook me up with the final shape, I had only bought the season pass. I must say that I see it as purposefully lacking as another tactic to get player's to upgrade to the expansion. This expansion in particular is very lacking if all you get is the season pass.
Your not wrong. At the same time tho it does feel diffrent to me so far. Honestly I'm not sure how I could go about really having strong changes 🤔. Without being too drastic.

Ay just because you don't understand what is the difference between the two doesn't mean its "foul". They've stated multiple times the difference between them.
The weird things about episodes is that out of all the feedback we’ve given about seasons it feels like the most important one to them was “The size,” and “the quantity of content.” Echoes in terms of scale is really big for a season, let’s do a few comparisons. * Defiance - 3 Battlegrounds - 1 Exotic Mission - 6 new weapons - 4 Reissued weapons * Wish - The Coil - 1 Exotic Mission - 6 new weapons - 4 (technically 11) reissued weapons * Echoes - Breach executable - Enigma Protocol - 3 Battlegrounds (ACT 2) - 1 Exotic Mission (ACT 3) - 10 New weapons - 5 Reissued weapons As you mentioned Echoes is also the launch season so its quality and quantity is probably the lowest of the 3 episodes. And as Evan mentioned, the episode is like Black Armory where we got to see what it’s like after the timegates are over.
I'd just appreciate a full drop end to end of the missions and narrative, let me play the whole thing, then grind for gear / secrets / collectibles over a few weeks. Good ol DLC structure. Aenemic drip-fed weekly story and padded tasks obliterates momentum.
I hear you but then if they do that then there will be complaints about Content Drought and how there isn’t enough for players to do since they managed to do EVERYTHING within the first couple weeks and get everything they want. Damned if you do and damned if you don’t.
I will give it time. As it is right now, its literally just Seasons 2.0. I have a bit of hope but no expectations. This is bungie we are talking about after all.
Especially with the absolute phenomenal performance of TFS, I’m understanding of the first one under delivering. Tbh I don’t particularly play the game for that kind of stuff anyway, as I love low man raiding and similar type activities. I didn’t expect much, but it is a third of the season, so it deserves time. Most people aren’t even done with getting all they need from TFS (probably getting close now, but like I’ve been pretty busy so I still haven’t raided, which is very disappointing, and I have to go get the last of my fragments), so there’s time.
I think a big part of it is also, Seasons were typically tied to an expansion. But episodes are not, because we don't know if there will be an expansion (ever). So it's delivering shorter content, in longer time without building up to anything.
@@KingShibe We did have that teaser of 2025 content with a D2 icon so who knows. I just hope that if there isn't a D3, we at least get a huge engine overhaul or something in D2 2025.
@@tragicgaming6964 If a hard reset is confirmed alongside D3 (if it ever happens), I'm done with Destiny, regardless of how many hours and sentimental loot I have from Year 1. I'd delete everything.
@@DeadlyblueEdward well yeah, the only way they could make a new game is with a hard reset. It would be impossible to transfer all of our data to a completely different system. It's exactly why I wish people would stop calling for a D3. They don't understand the implications.
We have now reached a point in Destiny where the game has to fundamentally change in every facet it has to offer. It simply needs a new "D3" with completely new game elements. This game, no matter how great it is, is actually a corpse of its former self at its core and substance...
My frustration with this episode, is that The Final Shape wasn’t filled with filler busy work. It was the perfect example of quality Destiny content. The content feels purposeful , and to go from that to the typical old style MMO busy work is just sad. I feel like the majority of these episodes are going to be “content for the sake of content”, and I think that is just not the direction to take this game in. I’d rather have them focus on higher quality, meaningful content, even if that means less content drops overall. Sadly, I think Bungie is married to this type of constant, reliable content model, but I think there are people in the community who like just having stuff to do, but the reality is that this meaningless MMO fluff is what burns people out.
I pretty much feel the same. But I'll still play, just not aggressively. It helps that I've lost my FOMO, so if I miss game time, it doesn't matter anymore. Which is healthier tbh.
Yea I finally got over the fomo. There's too much stuff that comes and goes to care. Iver already noticed majority of folks are already moved on past the Shiny brave weapons. Aside from edge transit lol. I've already gotten the crafted weapons I want and a bunch of exotic class items. So I'm good to take a break and just coast. Plenty of other games to play
Look anywhere in the game right now. The pass, the triumphs, some items - still refers to the Episode as a SEASON. It's obvious that the word "Episode" is just a name change for Seasons. Same weekly story bullshit, same grind, nothing has changed aside from release structure and the name.
@@Rychu-zo1pw that math does add up. While yes, the time the content will stay with us equals out, 3 "episodes" is just dragging out the content a bit longer. 4 seasons was more content because now there is a 4th story we won't be getting
people that are still complaining years down the line from the same shit are the people just complaining for the sake of it, play another fucking game if you're not happy with the one you are playing. the season pass is twice as long per season meaning you actually get 200 extra levels on the season pass over the year, the "season" is lasting about 30 days longer giving you 2-4 more weeks worth of story ( if they actually drag out the story until the final week of the episode) if at the end of the day the only issue you have is money then stop spending so much.
@@nextgenstatus at least 1-2 of those "stories" were boring as fuck, I can't say i played any of season of the plunder as it was utter garbage. I'll happily take 3 storylines through 3 episodes if more effort is put into them.
I agree the first act is really rough. I was on the fence about coming back to destiny but then bungie dropped the echoes trailer. Vampire hunting as a fallen barren? That’s all I needed to hear. These episodes have extreme potential to be amazing but bungie really needs to lock in
I wish the Episodes at least this one terraforms/reworks the destination it is tied to... like Nessus needs to be converted into something in between the Pale Heart and Neptune (the world public event stuff) we have whole ass worlds we don't wanna explore again, so why not update them substantially? They could just remake some Vex Raid Bosses or Strike Bosses into Nessus type Pale Heart stuff... imagine being able to fight Argos from Eater of Worlds again, but in Public event form... they have so much they can do, but just not doing it
I really feel like the new activity should be free like old days while the season pass should give your everything else, like the extra activity such as enigma protocol
Bungie was cooking at the barbecue with the final shape and I like started burning everything with episodes feeling like seasons all over again the same tedious boring s*** is company always shoots itself in the foot
Bungie says they are going to bring back the dreadnought but it is not going to be a patrol zone. It's just gonna be like season of the deep where it's just instanced zones. Not a patrol.
THANK YOU. I started on that quest already bored and disappointed, then the public event I was doing glitched out and wouldn't progress. Just feels so bad. If they were going to take us back to nessus and revamp it they could have at least made some significant changes, update the public events and stuff. Right now it's cool to be back cuz it's a cool planet but there's just nothing to do there. Enemies fall over and there's not nearly enough of them.
So you’re telling me that the game that has been reusing content for literally a decade is reusing content? Shocker. Anyone surprised or disappointed by D2 hasn’t been paying attention and needs to lower their expectations.
Never thought I'd be the "left after final shape" guy but i am, it was a satisfying ending, played the first mission of the season, watched the what's next video bungie uploaded and said "yup, thanks Bungie" and dipped.
I plan to probably play this week, then dip. Dawntrail early access is coming in three days and I'm eager to get my hands on Viper after several months of waiting
All they need to do is change where it is time gated. If they let us experience the whole acts story when it first drops then I’d be happy. Because getting another “wait to next week” is getting old.
Looking back, the fact Bungie didn't actively advertise how the episodes were different/new, should have been a HUGE red flag that NOTHING was changing for the better. If anything it sounds worse as it's just time gating the story into three major chunks by the sounds of it. only time will tell, but the first season/episode isn't the greatest, though that is normal as I don't think ANY season that is released alongside the expansion has been great. Edit: a thought arose, the whole "do public events and bounties" thing is bad for Nessus because it's old, but on a new destination (say, the Dreadnaught) it wouldn't be that bad. So I wonder if Bungie plans to have new destinations for other episodes to improve these quest steps, but for the first episode, they didn't have the resources to create a new map (likely due to it being close to an expansion). So they just took a shortcut and did a small "update" to Nessus instead.
There has been a ton of time gating lately and my schedule doesn't allow me to play everyday consistently and I miss some of the content that I'm paying top tier prices for. No bueno
I want to go to a new Solar System. Something outlandish. I also want an MMO type map. And i want something more than 1 farm mission with a little story snippet of 30 second. We need something fresh.
This like the 2nd or 3rd time bungie has said seasons where going to change and we still get the same boring weekly stuff. Last time I guess the changes where to the way we progressed the vendor, this time is like the same, but they actually made a planet change, i dont know if they realize we don’t like the weekly stuff, we need soemthing more.
i will say, at the very least it's nice that it got us to go back to nessus for that weird ass mission haha! i'm hoping they're gonna shape it up so that nessus also becomes an overthrow type place
Solo players can’t get the exotic class item. Episodes are just Seasons with one LESS season for same price. Players need to vote with playtime & wallet & play other games.
No offense to bungie. But I knew this was gonna happen. And told all my friends this was if for me after doing the DLC... because my gut was telling me it's not gonna change game play wise after 10 years. I'm just done giving them chance after chance and feeling ripped off for a grocery check list. It was amazing gaming with everyone and having the best journey of my life. But all story's come to and end..
imo they messed up when they took away the infinite forest mercury is still there since trials brings you there for the lighthouse. imo the infinite forest was a great idea just not implemented in the right way bring it back so we can play old content from start to finish as well as old season passes that people didnt get to play ofc all season passes you've payed for are free and so is the content in it minus shards and alloys since that isnt the whole goal of it i personally have lost gear from the older passes and they aren't in my trans mog directory i would love to reacquire that stuff but also id love to be able to buy the season passes i didn't have the chance to play in and that's where your alloys and shards would be to acquire just my oppinon tho
I gave into the hype and bought the deluxe version of the game out of habit, which was sn incredibly big mistake because i have zero interest on the seasonal content. I played the campaing in legend, did the missions, did the raid but after onslaught im kind of done with the gameplay loop of "do the seasonal activity multiple times, then do some random requirement, do the seasonal activity again and wait until the next week". Im also done with farming weapons thst only do marginal increments over what i already have, ive been out of pvp for loke a year so now not wanting to play pve its lind of sad, everything tells me to move on and stop but rhe nostalgia keeps me in
they are the same and the boredom set in straight away, after finishing the campaign and new stuff the game has dropped back to the dull season model with a name change
I think it would be different if Nessus wasn’t such a boring public space. Felt like pulling teeth to get through the public events and patrol points done. I get story and part of that is salvaging but come on what does killing powerful Fallen have to do with the Vex and just cheesing the easy lost sector to get it.
Okay, I will say, now that we've finished Act 1, I am so glad I am not the only one who feels that episodes just feel like there's nothing new about this model and it just feels like more time gated rewards and missions
Episodes are nothing more than Seasons that are time gated. Think about it. I’m at 100 on my Seasonal pass and can’t go beyond that until “Act II” unlocks in 22 days. Whereas when it was called Seasons I could continue going as long as I played. It’s just dumb, and we’re all stupid if we fall for it.
What's also stupid is that only some of the weapons are available in each Act. I am waiting so long for that sidearm to release and I don't know if it will release in Act II or III.
Yeah I think as soon as the honeymoon phase is over people will start to see that the seasonal formula has stayed the same they just tried to slap a new name on it and see if they’d get away with it
They sell you a season pass and content that tells you to do free activities, that they choose not to update because it’s the free part of the game, help me make it make sense
Nessus should have been reworked to be the Echoes planet period. Fuck the instance. Its just fast gear grind with the samples. Nessus should be a hostile planet going through some forced changes and us having to fight both the environment and the vex.
Could also be from the way they disrespected Solo players. Locked Exotic class item (& microcosm but not many care about that gun) behind forced multiplayer timed fail raid lite mission. Solo players were pissed on the forums.
@@EchoDoctrinethey should cry about it. Not everything should be soloable. It makes sense that u actually have to play with people to do activities. Dual destiny is awesome. @@EchoDoctrine The mission is called "dual destiny". It was an end to the light and dark saga. Solo players can be as pissed as they want (i'm a solo player btw) but that mission was still great.
This game has been cooked. They have learned nothing. I left for three years, came back and still dealing with the same solo issues and being told don’t worry about it. OK I won’t as I uninstall the game. I cannot get the new exotic class item one of the big reasons I would’ve even bought the expansion. Can’t get the Catalyst for exotic expansion…. just do about 30% of the stuff in it it’ll be great….. not to mention I’m still playing the exact same missions I was playing three years ago because you idiots don’t even bother putting matchmaking in 80% of your content. Hopefully Sony will fix some of these items when they take over. I can’t even interact with the new content because I’m not gonna spend three hours on LFG to get kicked….What a great gaming experience…. I’d rather go outside and take a walk.
I swear it’s like they actively try to push away new players. Why would you add so many Roblocks to enjoy the content you just released can’t get the exotic class item can’t get the new exotic catalyst for the sword. Can’t play any other raids or dungeons without spending 45 minutes in a LFG. All I can do is the playlist which I do periodically have fun and then as soon as I want more, I realize too bad, that’s why uninstalled the game. I did reinstall, but I’ll probably stay at this for a bit and then uninstall once I get tired of doing the same strikes over and over again.
In my honest opinion, final shape has brought some really good stuff and bad stuff. Good being final shape as a whole. Bad being the new pathfinder system and renamed seasons
Destiny 2 - The Final Shape, and beyond (episodic layout) are extremely boring. I've been bored with The Final Shape since it was released. Echos - boring. Not looking forward to the other episodes. I hope Sony kicks the Bungie execs to the curb, and takes over the developer studio. This should have been done as soon as Sony purchased Bungie.
Is anyone really surprised? Bungie has a 10 year track record of half their expansions being bad and the majority of the seasonal content being mid at best because they're afraid of over-delivering. Final shape was good, now we're back to business as usual until the player base gets low enough for bungie management to panic and actually let the devs cook.
Here's is my unwanted take: just because the final shape was good, doesn't mean that they have fixed their issues at Bungie. A year ago everyone was complaining about the game. A year before and we loved it, so on and so on. I refuse to play a game where the odds of it being good are 1/3 on average. With those odds, why would you expect episodes to be good? I haven't played since forsaken and don't intend to. I keep up with the game out of sheer curiosity but I cannot play a game that feels like a hamster wheel of monotony and repetition. There is NO innovation. You all see a new mechanic, super, or game mode and go crazy. Those are all normal parts of a game. Quit letting them gaslight you for 70% of the year for one cool gun or a cayde reference.
If Bungie wants to make game fun again they need to change things up major in my opinion. For example when the weapon crafting glitch happened and everyone made that solar auto rifle with shotgun frame that short time period was the most fun I've had on this game. Aside from the Pale Heart the game is pretty much the same with the same old grinding on the same old maps and same old vendor crap.
It is Bungo, what more do you expect? The only time Bungo does anything that benefit players is when they get ahit on and atart loosing money. Maybe tome to start speaking with your wallets.
if you think about it we are in season 24 because if you look in your character menu at look at the top left it says season 24 instead of episode: Echos act 1
XD here we go again people finally realizing after the "honeymoon" phase and learning the expansion is a failure after the main story? Ohhhhh say it aint soooo -_- its almost like how its been since shadowkeep....but then again if destiny players didn't learn then they never would....this is whar yall get for not boycotting the FS and forcing bungie to better then the usual.
I figured already that after this act [season] the player base is going to drop off quickly. The changes they've have not been helpful to new players. The new player experience has been trash for years at this point. The fact that they don't give you the rundown for EVERY aspect of the game, is quite alarming. I've run into numerous amounts of new players within raids that don't have mics or even understand communication in anyway. This is a fault of bungie and it's one of far too many that new players have to figure out the hard way or leave entirely due to the state of the game becoming more hostile to new players. Making activities more difficult by default will only create frustration and further devides within the community itself. The welcoming part of destiny will slowly disappear if they dont fix anything.
I deleted the game earlier today. I’ve played for years. In later years I found myself just playing 6s. At my age I don’t share the optimism others had no only about episodes but the dlc in general. I found the solo legend experience to be a snooze fest with some minor difficulty at the end. Pretty to look at and some cool cut scenes. Nothing game play wise I’d want to experience again. After it was all done my the people I raid with didn’t jump on the game again. But when I saw the Raid Boss was recycled into the final mission along with how empty the Pale Heart feels I gave up on investing time into the current expansion. Then I watched game play of the first day of episodes and it was even worse than I expected. The highlight seemingly being Failsafe voice lines and not gameplay experience. It seemed my experience in Destiny just become Control playlist…at this point I thought what pleasure can I take in beating people who no life this game at this point? The game I got addicted to died years ago. I do hope we see a Destiny 3 but a different team under Bungie.
One thing i noticed at least. The Specimen Quests are account bassed and on a 2nd character it let me skip the first week of story content for this seasson. Its a neet change but besides the fact i dont need to run the story on 3 characters roughly echos so far are seassons for me. Like i woudnt have minded if they said. Here is the entire story for act 1 of echos. No timegating in the act itself. And the only timegating will be the acts itself. That we need to wait for the acts to drop but at least not wait another week for some dialoge. And a few patrols. I know its not fixed that way but i take every smal inovation that i get after sooo many seassons
I hear a lot of complains (many rightfully so) but not so many ideas. I personally have no idea how to make this system better so I'm genuinely interested in what the community thinks should be improved/done differently.
As a solo player who doesn’t like being forced into group difficult content this DLC is not worth the $100 very disappointed with the way bungie is handling this years content
This being said I use to like seeing other players’ builds and playstyle in free roam patrol and I CAN *NOT* STAND how loading into the pale heart unless you use that STUPID public event matcher you will ALWAYS Be solo and you will NEVER see another guardian. WHAT THE FUCK WERE YOU GOING FOR HERE BUNGO A WORSE DORK SOULS?!!!!
Extremely agreed !!! Fellow solo player here & what they did with Exotic class item pissed me off. This game is no longer for me, I see the direction Bungie is going & it’s NOT for players like me.
@@EchoDoctrine sad but true. Imagine if you just bought halo 3 when it was new and they forced COOP to play the campaign gamers would flip shit but because it’s bungie it’s ok when they scam players.
my only thought is what did you expect? episodes were literally launched as the replacement for seasons in the final shape, and the changes we did get were amazing, failsafe, lore importance, we are spoiled rotten with painted cutscenes, new changing act specific content, I just feel everyone saw that seasons were going to be replaced and got their hopes up way beyond the realm of what Bungie made episodes out to be
Ppl like you are the prob with the game and why Bum-gie can keep getting away with screwing everyone over cuz you get to see some "pretty" cutscenes and an area thats been in the game aince 2017 an is just as useless as its been since 2017 lmao soon the game will be fully dead an no more chances for Scum-gie an you can thank yourself an others like you 😂
I think a lot of the fanbase set their expectation of what to expect with these too high. Bungie said they wanted tell larger one off stories with these. They never said anything about it not involving the Helm and still being under that same sort of style. As far as the quality of these, the one that launches with the expansion is always the worst of the bunch. So, I'm not gonna make a judgement until we get through at least Revenant. Echoes already looked the least interesting of the three anyways.
I don't tend to stick around for the seasons and instead play them all at once at the end (before the next expansion), but I feel that they should have made the following changes: 1. Time gating the season pass is fine, but auto unlock all the levels you get pass 100 when it comes out (remains to be seen, but reports say that each level is 500k afterwards. Can't confirm it myself) 2. Give us all the act's contents at once. They could give us 1-2 good missions + activity for the 6 weeks and I think most players would be okay with that (it'll even allow some people to take a break so they'll be excited when the new content comes up. 3. Let the latest expansion linger a bit longer. It felt like we had a week for the Final Shape. There is a bunch of new things in there, delaying the start of the act until 3 weeks in would have been fine. There should be enough content in there for 3 weeks for people who play more than 2-3 hours a day. I mean, they released Dual Destiny the same day as the start of the episode.
While I was playing final shape and having a great time the thought of going back to the boring weekly stuff was in my mind, I was just dreading it being over and having to go back to the weekly stuff, and here we are.
I don't mind the story being time gated, but I do want them to use the space the way they did with forges and it's already rewarding. Black armory style season and story beats need to be picked up quickly, especially if we just came off of final shape. Like more threats are coming out with the witness gone. Make these large spaces more dense with enemies thay won't fall over
I am all for giving episodes time and i think that now the Light and Dark saga is off their shoulders it will be easier but my main concern is that just like the past Bungie has been inconsistent with Seasons especially with transitions , for example we went from season of Splicer which had great loot , story , activity to season of the Lost which had meh activity , bad loot but 1 weapon , story was being carried immensly from the upcoming witch queen narrative and was saved by the 30th Anniversary update. Thinking back out of the 21 full seasons we have had (excluding CoS and Warmind) i can only think about 5-6 that were trully great with most being underwhelming but not game killing. The only time we got 3 great seasons in a row were Forge/Drifter/Opulence and that was off the back of Forsaken in a sort of " we saved it for now but we gotta keep this rolling to trully save it" type of deal. - Edit - my friend just reminded me this , why do you think they came up with seasonal non-Expansion (aka not Shattered Throne or Pit of Heresy ) Dungeons/ Legends tab / 30th ann. / Into the Light / Exotic repeatable missions with seasonal loot it is a way to keep people playing and grinding something they know is better than any seasonal activity to keep the cycle of seasons going .
loosing all the lightfall seasonal activitys was to be expected, but also a big oof since they were pretty good this time around. i liked the coil, the underwater stuff including exotic stasis scout and even the prisonbreak missions from S20. Maybe they should only shuffle 1 activity out when they add a new one

- 10 New weapons
- 5 Reissued weapons
As you mentioned Echoes is also the launch season so its quality and quantity is probably the lowest of the 3 episodes. And as Evan mentioned, the episode is like Black Armory where we got to see what it’s like after the timegates are over.
interesting
I'd just appreciate a full drop end to end of the missions and narrative, let me play the whole thing, then grind for gear / secrets / collectibles over a few weeks. Good ol DLC structure. Aenemic drip-fed weekly story and padded tasks obliterates momentum.
I hear you but then if they do that then there will be complaints about Content Drought and how there isn’t enough for players to do since they managed to do EVERYTHING within the first couple weeks and get everything they want. Damned if you do and damned if you don’t.
I dont see any difference between them and it's kinda burnt out for me already
I will give it time.
As it is right now, its literally just Seasons 2.0.
I have a bit of hope but no expectations. This is bungie we are talking about after all.
I think the goal is to tell more compelling stories than seasons, but the gameplay doesn't feel like the focus.
@@flynn6531 that’s not happening lol, it’s literally just seasons with a different name nothings changing
triumphs in the game even refer to it as season 24
Bungie is laying off employees. Don't get hopes up...
I think a big part of it is also, Seasons were typically tied to an expansion. But episodes are not, because we don't know if there will be an expansion (ever). So it's delivering shorter content, in longer time without building up to anything.
Bungie is obviously making a 3rd Destiny game. This is just stuff leading up to it. They need to make money again and expansions aren't cutting it
@@KingShibe if they make a third game, we will be forced to start over and lose everything they just unsunset. They would lose even more players.
Absolutely agreed. They need to start a D3 after these 3 episodes are over. The game physically cannot sustain it as well
It's gotten to this state because people praise bungie even when they put out mediocre content.
@@pj13246 yeah i heard nothing but praise coming out of lightfall
@@jewishjojonah but the final shape isn’t all that. It’s decent but it isn’t mind blowing.
bingo
Episodes are just seasons with one less season. More money for less content.
The episodes are longer so its the same amount of content just in less total seasons and with extra time gates
@@Rychu-zo1pw that math does add up. While yes, the time the content will stay with us equals out, 3 "episodes" is just dragging out the content a bit longer. 4 seasons was more content because now there is a 4th story we won't be getting
@@nextgenstatus well you got 3 longer stories so the same amount of content while less variety in content
people that are still complaining years down the line from the same shit are the people just complaining for the sake of it, play another fucking game if you're not happy with the one you are playing.
the season pass is twice as long per season meaning you actually get 200 extra levels on the season pass over the year, the "season" is lasting about 30 days longer giving you 2-4 more weeks worth of story ( if they actually drag out the story until the final week of the episode)
if at the end of the day the only issue you have is money then stop spending so much.
These episodes have extreme potential to be amazing but bungie really needs to lock in
Bars
It always sounds way better than it actually ever is.
@@MrTytyjohn64 most definitely they go hand in hand. Why would I be invested in the story if the gameplay loop is a slog and vice versa
Oh if that turns out to be true we are absolutely cooked
Shame since we got the leviathan back as a patrol zone in haunted.
If that’s true I’m done
Seasons but extra time gate 💀
And 2 of Nessus public events don't even work properly! They haven't for years
Enemies fall over and there's not nearly enough of them.
the servitor one?
@havalhaval4168 yeah the one near Fail-safe & the one at the Cistern
So they just took a shortcut and did a small "update" to Nessus instead.
go look at the roadmaps, its vastly different to seasons
GROOSE!!!
It was pretty obvious that episodes were intended to be dripfeed maintenance mode until marathon ships and they start working on Destiny again lol
I guarantee they aren't giving us the full dreadnaught. My guess is that the seasonal activity will be there just like season of the haunted.
i will say, at the very least it's nice that it got us to go back to nessus for that weird ass mission haha! i'm hoping they're gonna shape it up so that nessus also becomes an overthrow type place
Solo players can’t get the exotic class item. Episodes are just Seasons with one LESS season for same price. Players need to vote with playtime & wallet & play other games.
going from Final Shape to Failsafe was a hilarious transition.
Seasons with even more time gate. Incredible.
Its still the same thing, every week you get quest steps just like we got in the old system so nothing changed
imo they messed up when they took away the infinite forest mercury is still there since trials brings you there for the lighthouse. imo the infinite forest was a great idea just not implemented in the right way bring it back so we can play old content from start to finish as well as old season passes that people didnt get to play ofc all season passes you've payed for are free and so is the content in it minus shards and alloys since that isnt the whole goal of it i personally have lost gear from the older passes and they aren't in my trans mog directory i would love to reacquire that stuff but also id love to be able to buy the season passes i didn't have the chance to play in and that's where your alloys and shards would be to acquire just my oppinon tho
Im also done with farming weapons thst only do marginal increments over what i already have, ive been out of pvp for loke a year so now not wanting to play pve its lind of sad, everything tells me to move on and stop but rhe nostalgia keeps me in
the concept of seasons in gaming in general is to make even more money while creating the least amount of content possible
they are the same and the boredom set in straight away, after finishing the campaign and new stuff the game has dropped back to the dull season model with a name change
Yeah I think as soon as the honeymoon phase is over people will start to see that the seasonal formula has stayed the same they just tried to slap a new name on it and see if they’d get away with it
Free to play doesn't even let you explore the new location now, this is wild.
What would be the point? Pale heart has nothing for a ftp player to do.
It doesn't bother me. I just don't like time gates. Give it to me all at once. Make it feel like final shape story but in episodic format
Gone from 4, 3 month seasons to 3, 4 month seasons with timegates
I thought you were saying, "destiny saved" and goty worthy, oh my
The more things change, the more they stay the same
UA-camr hyped it up like it's the last Destiny DLC so we all bought it then boom. 10 more years of reskins bitches! 😅
They sell you a season pass and content that tells you to do free activities, that they choose not to update because it’s the free part of the game, help me make it make sense
Bungie has to stop cooking eventually. I gotta have time to play Elden Ring 😂
Nessus should have been reworked to be the Echoes planet period. Fuck the instance. Its just fast gear grind with the samples. Nessus should be a hostile planet going through some forced changes and us having to fight both the environment and the vex.
Episodes are literally just Seasons but with even more time gating lol
post the final shape, the game feels like it always has. seasonal model crap.
TFS has had the sharpest player drop off than any DLC released in the last two years. Why is that?
Could also be from the way they disrespected Solo players. Locked Exotic class item (& microcosm but not many care about that gun) behind forced multiplayer timed fail raid lite mission.
Solo players were pissed on the forums.
after the first week, there wasn’t really anything left to look forward to
@@EchoDoctrinethey should cry about it. Not everything should be soloable. It makes sense that u actually have to play with people to do activities. Dual destiny is awesome. And it would be dumb if u could solo it. I like how u need to rely on someone. Just like raids. U can't solo them for a reason
Just don’t play pal issue solved nobody’s forcing u idiots to play
They just needed a reason to say we were going from 4 to 3 seasons and not catch pushback
We also only get 4 deep sight resonance per 100 pass levels so they are reducing it by 1 on each one
The First Descendant is coming. Ill just play that if Destiny becomes stale, which it will.
The episodes are the same as the seasons, but with less loot, it is the biggest scam since "the neverending story"
But I would say...the episodes are literally the drip content people were complaining and afraid about.
if you think about it we are in season 24 because if you look in your character menu at look at the top left it says season 24 instead of episode: Echos act 1
IT IS IDENTICAL
also oh my f stop forcing us to play gambit and now forcing us to play mothyards in onslaught
It’s really simple. We get less total content over time and pay more for it. This is probably why the Sony people were concerned.
I know its not fixed that way but i take every smal inovation that i get after sooo many seassons
seems like seasons but worse so far. Like the game doesn’t even call them episodes look at the top left of your inventory screen.
Exactly! The only thing making people play Destiny right now is the Final shape content! Not the episode.
We all should have known Echoes were going to be reskinned of seasons
Only worse 😂
They spend half their budget on the new raid...that most players will never get through
source that says half the budget goes to a raid?
The first decendent is dropping next week. J
Hopefully it'll be really good.
The bait and switch from seasons to episodes is kind of Bungie's MO for keeping players invested.
I just deleted destiny 2 days ago after about 8k hours game is kinda old mechanicly so many poor things in the game ......
I blame my self, I thought we'll get story type missions each week
my only thought is what did you expect? episodes were literally launched as the replacement for seasons in the final shape, and the changes we did get were amazing, failsafe, lore importance, we are spoiled rotten with painted cutscenes, new changing act specific content, I just feel everyone saw that seasons were going to be replaced and got their hopes up way beyond the realm of what Bungie made episodes out to be
Ppl like you are the prob with the game and why Bum-gie can keep getting away with screwing everyone over cuz you get to see some "pretty" cutscenes and an area thats been in the game aince 2017 an is just as useless as its been since 2017 lmao soon the game will be fully dead an no more chances for Scum-gie an you can thank yourself an others like you 😂
If what weve got so far is pretty much the same shit going forward the game ia fucked tbh whoch is pretty sad 😭
Why do I have to Play 15€ to Play a fucking season Activity? That's so stupid
I see time as money, every hour I put in is worth 1$. If the seasonal content gets me 25+ hours worth of play time then its worth
So true
If you buy Final shape you get the 1st episode for free
I think a lot of the fanbase set their expectation of what to expect with these too high. Bungie said they wanted tell larger one off stories with these. They never said anything about it not involving the Helm and still being under that same sort of style. As far as the quality of these, the one that launches with the expansion is always the worst of the bunch. So, I'm not gonna make a judgement until we get through at least Revenant. Echoes already looked the least interesting of the three anyways.
I don't tend to stick around for the seasons and instead play them all at once at the end (before the next expansion), but I feel that they should have made the following changes:
1. Time gating the season pass is fine, but auto unlock all the levels you get pass 100 when it comes out (remains to be seen, but reports say that each level is 500k afterwards. Can't confirm it myself)
This is season 24. You can call it "episode" whatever, but this is season 24
I don't know...i hadn't done patrols and normal public events in a long time. That made them exciting again... right?
While I was playing final shape and having a great time the thought of going back to the boring weekly stuff was in my mind, I was just dreading it being over and having to go back to the weekly stuff, and here we are.
They need to fix expert breach weekly challenge progression. Played multiple rounds with zero progress.
It seems to be fixed for me, played Expert 3 times and got the weekly complete.
It's fixed now.
The new model is: 4 seasons -> 3 episodes. Because they want to take their summer off.
loosing all the lightfall seasonal activitys was to be expected, but also a big oof since they were pretty good this time around.
i liked the coil, the underwater stuff including exotic stasis scout and even the prisonbreak missions from S20. Maybe they should only shuffle 1 activity out when they add a new one
ALSO WE ARE GETTING LESS CONTENT AND ONLY ONE DUNGEON A YEAR NOW
The dungeon key says two dungeons
Wish i would have paid attention before coming back, i wouldnt have!
