I’ve had both and the German Shepard is more social but the Doberman will give its master its soul. You can’t beat a Doberman for a one person dog.

Despite my love for the Doberman, the German Shepherd steals my heart. I just got my first German Shepherd 2 years ago. And he’s a retired K-9 unit dog, and I was absolutely honored to take him into my home. And care for him for the last couple of years he has left. It was a little ruff at first because of his severe anxiety, but as the years past he settled down a lot, and I can’t imagine a better dog. He’s by far the most loyalist dog I’ve ever owned. I love him so much. Recently he’s had what I think was a seizure, because of the effects of his liver. The vet says he believes it’s poison from a weed my boy ate on accident. Or it could be cancer. Whatever it is, all I know is I’m not ready to loose him, and I never will be. Fingers crossed that he’s gonna be ok.🤞🤞🤞
How's he now?
@@stewie2342 he’s doing ok, we’ve hadn’t had any problems, he took some medication and it turned out that it was a plant that he ate that caused a really bad reaction to him.
How old is he?

GSD all the way. No clipping of any part. Natural beauty.
My chihuahua could defeat them both. Most powerful dog. And fearless.
For sure, no dog can match the fearlessness of a chihuahua!
I got 4 chihuahuas and a shepherd 💪🏽
If a chihuahua was 80lbs it would be a force to recon with for sure.
Facts tho.. my sister chihuahua has been 3lbs for years and she tries to attack the biggest dogs (she’s a runt and has been small for years)
Oh your Chihuahua is Brave well then bring your Chihuahua to my doberman :)
I've trained both but I love German Shepherds. Their beautiful markings and loyalty are what I love. My big boy shepherd protected me growing up.
They are both beautiful smart amazing protective and loving dogs (to their owners at least) but I prefer the dog that shed less lmao
Doberman is better gsd.
@@Devisarita1987 In your heart you love doberman dogs. I love both, but it was my German Shepherd that actually protected me against an attempted rapist, not the doberman. So I in my heart it will always be a German Shepherd.
Thank you for defending Dobermans, they are good beautiful dogs.
Please stay safe and well 😷🤗

love German Shepherds BUT the BEST dog I've owned so far was a Weimaraner-GSP. He's super protective. He's a very aggressive "watch dog" He's an awesome judge of character & MUCH is more protective & courageous than our GSD. He's a pleasant surprise (he came to us as a homeless dog we fostered for a rescue).
I've always loved dobermans but over the years I've compared both side by side and there's no comparison. German Shepherds are way smarter and easier to train. If you take the smartest vest Doberman, it won't hold a candle to the smartest, vest German Shepherd. DOBERMANS are smart in a different way than Shepberds, more of a clever way, but as far as trainability, a Shepherd is way better. Dobermans just don't have the focus and strength of character, they are weaker dogs when you actual put higher demands on them in training. This is why law enforcement doesn't typically use them, when you really put them through a fight, or have them do more complicated things that require intense focus, the Doberman shows it is inferior to the German Shepherd every time. Dobermans are a dog that attracts people based on how they look, and they are truly stunning dogs. They can do all the basic training ,but when it truly comes down to it and the rubber meets the road the German Shepherd will always outperform the Doberman is every single way , and this is coming from a lifelong Doberman person, they simply aren't on the same level.
I always thought that reason GSds were predominantly used is because they will actually “out”. Dobermans are known to bite bite and not be as reliable on the “out”. Some dogs don’t play and really want to take down the “bad guy”. Basically GSDS listen better while former breeds used in police like Bouvier dobies etc don’t mess around and will eff up a bad guy. And also.. dogs like Doberman bond very closely to one person so they can’t be passed around like a working GSD. GSDS also do well in kennels while some attack dogs don’t. So there are several reasons why GSD is predominant used.
Dobermans are actually the smartest dog breed.
@@evs251😂😂I think you are wrong, the smartest dog breed is a border collie, and GSD is ranked higher than a Doberman
Doberman for sure

Hello Grammy... Howyoudoing?.... Y'all Stay Safe 😷🌞🥶❄️🙏🎭🇺🇲
I love both but think a doberman will be a better dog for our furry and family members that have no fur 🐕♥️
I love this video but I wish they dove more deeper into that mental stimulant they kept referring to. As there might be some new stimulant that I could learn personally.
@joed596 but is there any others than toys, tricks and routines. I need more options
joed596 is correct, the mental stimulation required by dogs takes various forms. Toys, interacting with others, walks, intelligence games and many other forms of cognitive stimulation help the dog's well-being. The form and amount of stimulation required, however, depends on the individual dog and not solely on breed. Please look at our website for plenty of information, such as this one on dog intelligence games:

I have a GSD but was torn between Doberman, GSD, and Rottweiler.
I want them all eventually but my GSD has stolen my heart.
Big ass smart dogs are neat 😁

how is the shedding of GSD , thats one thing am worried about because i have fam members with asthma. I am wanting to get dobi or rotti for this issue alone
@@jeshyjeshy The shep sheds like crazy, they're known as "German Shedders" for a reason. You couldn't go wrong with any of those breeds!

I like Doberman's better they're not obnoxious. They are very funny too. But they do this weird thing and poke you in the butt. I don't understand it. But it's so funny.
In what way GS are obnoxious, can you give us an example?
Yes, and they'll nip you in the butt as well. I lived on a city street but it was off the main roads and onlly residents and their visitors came onto the street. Well, the mail person and other delivery people.. The Doberman stayed right in front of the 3 family building. No fence, no leash, no nothing. It stayed right in front of the building protecting it. One day me and another kid was across the street being kids and active play fighting, when I was on top of my friend being the winner of the wrestling game we played, that Doberman bit me in the butt. Not enough to break the skin, but enough to get my attention and made me get the hell out of his space.
@@iamlost2 lmaoo, it was probably the wrestling with your friend that he was like, heyy get off of him😂😂
We have both they take care of me all the timeWhat time we took them on the beach and nobody got close to him they didn’t want to mess with him and then sorry and somebody was in danger and I said go Toby go to coaches they went as fast as they can and they save the person that was drowning what dogs are so nice but also very dangerous🐶🐶😊☺️

Which one is a better guard dog with no training to protect
@@shivpatel991 probably a doberman. A GSD is unlikely to protect with no training. But it is recommended to train your dog, they can get aggressive and do whatever they want and not listen to you.

I just don't know where do they get this facts. My Doberman is 115 lb.
My 5lb Yorkie was best dog ever.
The German shepard needs more exercise than the doberman that's just plain wrong
I have a vila in middle of jungle and I want about 5 strong and agresive dog, as you guess I need brave, sensitive, strong, and not friendly dog, I'm single and Im alone at vila, I go there just at weekend, I would appreciate that if you tell me which one is better according to my situation?
Get a cat. You can't leave a dog alone for that long. Just being with the dog on the weekends is bad. It's really abuse. You should get a cat if you want a pet and one who can be OK alone for long periods. Just litter train the cat and scoop the waste =out every day, more than one cat, multiple times a day. Fresh water daily to drink and clean litter to eliminate their waste.< cats. Dogs need personal care and attention daily
If u leave breeds like this alone for long.. i feel like they can get aggressive. Dont do it!! 😣
Absolutely the Dobbie
5 is a lot to train, and are you up for traveling around with 5 dogs?
If you just plan to leave them tied up at the vila for a week on end by themselves. Then you're just terrible period. Any dog especially these, needs interaction and being fed etc.
Dogo Argentino is for you
I would love to own a German Shepherd but I can't, because I don't have a yard for it🙁

German shepherd
I have a German shepherd male and a female on order. mine is 1 year old now and I haven't laughed so much as this year in a long time they are so funny. They are very playful and vocal when they want something they will let you know. I had one when I was younger and loved her as well she was a great dog. I have never had a doby but my cousin did and I really didn't like that dog it was the dumbest dog I ever saw so no thanks on the doby. I do have to take my GSD for long walks or play ball with him in the back yard to keep his energy down that's true also I work on him for mental stimulation training him to do tricks and I have an agility Corse set up but now I am getting him into IPO so we haven't used the corse in a while. I take him backpacking with me as well and he loves it. He has his own backpack in which he carries his own food and water and I let him sleep in the tent with me. I carry half of a z rest foam pad for him to sleep on to keep him off the ground. As far as I am concerned the GSD is the best all around dog breed.
I can agree with you. I have german sheper(he will have 8 months for few days) and he is the funniest dog i know. He is very vocal and very playful
You are letting him carry a back pack that may not be good. They are prone to bone problems due to their big size and weight.
@@budgetpilgrim that is good to know thanks I only make him carry his own food and water, I carry everything else. For a weekend outing, that's not much weight
They're typically fully grown by 2 years old for sure, 1 year old only, and you're doing a lott of exercise. It's good, but may be hard on his joints in the future.
The dobie may also not be dumb... it may be he's just not trained...
Dude this dog next to me Serbian 64 kg fast
Don't you think Doberman need more exercise than GSD?
GSD
What if a Doberman breed with a German shepherd or a German shepherd breeded with a Doberman
German Shepard
I got a german shephers cross Doberman
Nice!
i thought doberman need more physical exercise than gsd.
It probably depends.
Show line gsp
Or working line gsp
A straight back working line German shepherd is far superior than a euro working dobermann
Depending on what you want from them. Being alone or a family of 2, a doberman could be better. Living in an apartment also make you choose a doberman more quickly. Want to intimidate, a doberman is the way. Need a lot of consistent work, yes, GSD is a better choice.
@@alxdava2004 I don't think you've actually meet a Czech shepherd. Their intensity alone intimates people and dogs
I stand against ear cropping and tail docking
Dobbermann
German Shepard hands down no hesitation
German Shepherd is Mercedes. Doberman is a Nissan.
All my life I have owned GSD, but your affirmation is a joke at least. Being a large dog, a little more stubborn, having a short coat, make them a choice for only a few, but that's not make them inferior. In a warmer climates, they can for better. In apartments
@@alxdava2004 Sorry, GSD low diff claps Dobema .
Neither. I prefer a good dutch shepherd.
A German shepherd and Belgian Malinois is better in everyway. German bites harder and more powerful and a Belgian Malinois is a freak athlete that'd outrun and out move the dutch
The policeman I know that trains K9 dogs has a Dutch shepherd so they must be good but they don’t look as beautiful as a GSD.
Wow 0 dislikes on the video😀
Doberman
I remember pulling a German Shepherd tail( when I was 5 or 6 years old) while it was eating and inturn getting mauled by it, It was painful.
I find it easier to train lab and rott.
That's awful. We train our dobie not to be food protective by frequently putting our hand in its bowl while eating since puppyhood. If the kids try to play while he's eating he just ignores them
@@barbelljoe It's my fault actually. yet the same thing happened yesterday, Got bitten by a street dog while feeding it biscuts, I tried to put a biscuit on the rock but it got confusing thinking I'm trying to take its food and got bitten. We do not promote ear cropping, nor tail docking. This video supports neither practice.
@@AnimalWised why not show the original look of a doberman then?
Please stop harassing people who do choose to crop and dock. It’s their Doberman it’s their preference and choice. Not yours so you have no say unless it’s illegal in their country. This is the look Mr. Doberman intended his breed to look.
@@ryancentnarowicz an animal is not a thing you choose to hurt in order to make it „look“ the way you like it. Don’t be silly calling that a harassment. You harass the dog.
The doberman is a guard dog the German shepherd is a protection dog. Big difference is the doberman is meant to look scary while the German shepherds are always game to fight/attack threats.
What?
Dobermans were bred for protecting families too, there's thousands of stories about dobermans risking their own lives for their owners. I love German shepherds, but i feel like they're being over bred, they have so many hip problems 😭
@@Iamthebread-ox6wf I've been overseas many times with German shepherds and Belgian Malinois and never saw a single Doberman because they're incapable.
@@Confederatehero1776they're too big for those tasks. And little bit slower. But try to get into a territory guard by a doberman and you'll see their power. Try to mess with their owners also. Doberman is more fragile due to their short coat and due to their height. On any other characteristics is on par or better than any GSD or Malinois. After all, there's tons of choices nowadays, from every point of view.
