killer tone and not to mention the playing... this is one of the best overdriven tones I've heard used by someone using fingers... made me jump to the UA-cam tab in the middle of some urgent work... I mean wow... I wonder the settings
I've been a Bass player since I was 14 yrs old . 80s metal , punk, THRASH , you name it I've been in a band that played it , Every once in awhile I stumble across a BASS PLAYER that is an" innovater ", NOT an imitater : \ . Thankyou BRANDON M. Your BASS PLAYIN in this DARKGLASS SESSION ! YOU ARE 1 of. the most badass BASS players I've heard
I remember watching his Allegaeon and Zenith Passage covers like 4 years ago and now he's in Allegaeon, amazing and super skilled bass player. Great stuff!
This dude's playing is so tight (that I watched and commented on this a second) that he is locked-in with the bass on the song and it sounds like a chorus effect, that's how good this guy is! 💪💪💪💪💪
3:48 😳😳 I must learn, this is the most I have been impressed with someone's playing and sound since I started playing bass when I was 15.... Fucking awesome skill and knows how to fit it perfectly in the genre, my man should be labeled as a great ASAP...🤙🤙🤙🤙
Firstly, wow! Secondly, I now have a new song to learn. That song is an etude of bass skills. Loved that there was a false harmonic thrown in there too because...why not! Everything else was covered!
We all know that if you have a Dingwall and some Darkglass equipment, you receive an automatic upgrade in bass skills and +50 of physical damage, armor piercing, and buff of caos per second when playing any note.
Beautiful playing and great talent. But to me, it sounds more like a synth than a bass and idk why they just don’t play a synth instead? Or have their bass sound like an actual bass?
Not at all, it's just that dingwall is directed to metal players and dark glass is unno... A distortion pedal so I mean that's pretty metal, dingwall and dark glass goes together like "peanut butter and jelly" first time I got a dark glass pedal (it was the alpha omega) I had a four string Yamaha bass (which are extremely underrated) it worked fine, then I later on got a 5 string Dingwall and later on a 6 string dingwall (because I am an addict when it comes to being guitars) and it sounds a bit better with tone and gives a chunkier sound to it but in all its all not that different
If you would look around the internet you would see many players don't use a dingwall but use darkglass gear. Some examples are Olivier pinard, jared smith, Alex webster, and Adrian oropeza. There's many more that I don't know probably
Seems like you haven’t looked too much into the dark glass stuff. And dingwalls aren’t just played by one genre of music. I’ve seen jazz and rock musicians as well as metal but think what you want.
@@Rxbandit421 Actually, I’m on my 3rd DG pedal and really admire Doug’s work. By dream bass is a Dingwall Super P/J. All I’m saying is that DG seems to only promote one genre, one tone type and they all play damn near the same DW bass (NG-5’s I believe). This why I’ve heard so many say DG electronics is a “one hit wonder” when it comes to preamps. What not promote the versatility?
I completely agree. DG & Dingwalls together are amazing - but all they seem to do is just do djent and metal. It would also be refreshing to see & hear different basses like your typical Jazz, Musicman and even Precision models being used for DG to promote their versatility.

I've been wanting to see a bass playthrough of Parthenogenesis for so long! This is amazing!

Just give it a little tap-tap tap-a-roo.
Little tap-tap tap-a-reeno
"Just taaaaaaap it in"
One of the most underrated metal bands right now.

Still mind blowing in late 2023.
Still is.
What a monstrous tone, and a killer bassist. Well done, Darkglass.
This guys a massive gentleman in person 🤘🏻🤘🏻
Bassists rule
A goofy guy too, I got a pic with him and he opened his mouth like he was about to take a bite of a squirrel for our pic lol
This dude's playing is so tight (that I watched and commented on this a second) that he is locked-in with the bass on the song and it sounds like a chorus effect, that's how good this guy is! 💪💪💪💪💪
Dude, how did I not know about this band or this guy's sick skills? Amazing!

Firstly, wow! Secondly, I now have a new song to learn. That song is an etude of bass skills. Loved that there was a false harmonic thrown in there too because...why not! Everything else was covered!

Wow! Way heavier than what I usually jam but completely bad ass! Love when something hits you just right and gets you out of your zone for awhile
How's Brandon even doing this without a pick. Amazing skill on display here and the tone is to die for. So good darkglass.
When it comes to sneering at the crowd and playing bass Ricky Bobby is top notch. Well done \m/
The fact he is screaming during the playthrough makes me go through a very emotional state too. Clean cover, crystal sound. Good job!👌🤘
Me too man.. 🤘😊🤘

Máster 👏👏👏
that tone is delicious
0:59 yeahrrr!!!
Just out of curiosity, is it allowed to use darkglass gear without a Dingwall? 🤣

Like a tacky overused meme

Darkglass works just fine for my Fender Jazz. Love it!
Intro reminds of one of the track in first part of Terminator.
Bobo is an absolute monster
A new favorite band with a great bass jammer! What is your tuning dude? Freaking beast!!! 🤘🤯🤘
And I've heard elem ALL
Seems DG is all about one genre of music and for those who play Dingwalls 🤷♂️.

The kind of agreed to this seems like most ding walls have dark glass preamps in them nowadays
@@joshhammond11 look for America Paz and Leeland Sklae
This should be taught in schools
ОГОНЬ!
Is that Esfand?
What bass is he playing ?
Dingwall ng3.
Cliff Burton ...is rolling around in his grave 🤘🏽..Some of the best bass guitar I have ever heard 🤘🏽
Jason Newsted liked this mix...

Its metal bro, either you get it or you dont

i’ll take clean bass over clean vocals any day
THE STAMINA
wich song is this?
Darkglass. So you can sound the same as everyone else :)
He could use the same energy to reduce the double chin.
Lmao wearing a mask in case he gives his bass covid.
With sick skills like that I'd wear a mask too
@@sidthebassist89 if my skills were THAT sick I'd stay home LOL
Must be careful not to swallow a moth. But super fun playing.
I don't understand the hype of Dingwall's tone. I personally never really liked the Dingwall tone. Sounds too uhhh Metallic?
I understand what you mean. Very metallic sounding, but cut through the mix with an entire band very well.
Ever played one? They can do other sounds too
