Thank you for testing out these pedals using different basses and not just Dingwall’s.
@I don't think so! Thank you, finally 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
@@robjobse8860 Even so it alienates other bassists who want to know what Darkglass sounds like with a bass like there's and also creates the impression that Darkglass gear only works for metalheads.
@@robjobse8860 Nah of course. I just mean that they can make more money selling to more bassists than just the metal community.
@I don't think so! but dark glass only sound good with active basses in this demo the peavey t-40 and the fender jazz bass sounds muddy maybe they would sounds better on dark glass vintage
Seems like he only uses distortion on every video
I was hoping you would demo this pedal and I'm not disappointed! You did a great job of showing the versatility many of us suspected the ADAM was capable of. Like others, I was glad to see basses other than Dingwalls in use, but in this demo the green Dingwall was my favorite tone!
It's insane how insanely awesome this insane pedal is.
Yo this is sooo in depth and so dope. Also that dingwall color 👌🏼
I'm getting one in Jan! Love the channel. Keep up the good work!
I wasn’t expecting that fuzz from the Nolly demo. That’s outstanding! Absolutely huge tone.
Looks FREAKIN AWESOME!!! Thanks for your videos man, hope you have an amazing Christmas
Damn, you really went beast mode at 9:45! Great video as always, you're awesome!!
As a fellow Ray34 PB owner, I'm beyond ecstatic about you using it in this demo because I've been eyeing this pedal from day 1
I really like the sound with the Stingray. Love the growl coming from this bass...
Nice explanation of the pedal.
Great bass playing!
Thanks Patrick.
You could do a ten minute video where you try out 5 different... cables and just PLAY for nine minutes. This pedal got you honestly jazzed.
Sounds mad, I think that it all looks useful and would not be overwhelming at all. I love the touch slides for the eq.
Awesome as always, bro!!! ❤️🔥
Great review as usual ! I can’t to watch your Quad Cortex review when it’s out !
Wish there was an effects loop so I could use my phaser, chorus and delay pedals after the drive sounds and still use it as an interface or front of house solution. If it had an effects loop it would be a must buy for me.
Would that model be called the Adam and Eve?
If you take a rib from Adam's side, that's what you get.
I think it could be modded for that purpose if you really wanted.
Nolly basically owns the modern bass-tone market
And makes it bland and boring.
@@BigMuff75 You mean all the Djent kids trying to pass themselves off as Progressive musicians make it bland and boring.
@@BigMuff75 every genre and every era has a certain popular sound everyone tries to copy. Not saying I disagree with you, but that's just how trends work. Wait another 5 years and there will be a new piece of gear or bass tone everyone is obsessed over.
@@BigMuff75 *makes it work in a mix
@BigMuff75 it's like the guitarists all using Gibson Les Paul's in to a Marshall JMP and 4x12 cab with vintage 30 speakers.
We tend to forget how good of a bass player is patrick, keep up the good stuff man
great vid. Major props to Darkglass for including presets and lock functions... these are fantastic extra features which really help when you have a pedal capable of so many different sounds (also, I've been wishing for a b7*/X* variant with presets for years now).
Good grief, this thing is STACKED! How did you make this video this short? There is so much going on that it's insane.
I literally received a used Duality fuzz today and wondered why it was discontinued. Now I see why. This looks pretty amazing. Thanks Patrick!
Sounds great with the Dingwall. Like the clean tones too.
Lol this pedal came out not too long ago and a few weeks later... i see Patrick reviewing it XD. Honestly quite glad cuz i respect Patrick alot in terms of Bass related
Great
Video man !
That pedal’s awesome! Never been a fan of Darkglass fuzz sounds. This one doesn’t seem much better to my ears. Definitely more of a Big Muff guy. Everything else about this pedal rocks though! Awesome video Patrick! Keep on rockin’!
That Peavy bass is bad ass brother!!
Cool pedal, good video.
It is apparently INSANE.
Take a drink every time he says, "In-sane!"
thanks for the video!
I'm jealous, that's all I'm gonna say... Really well made video as usual!
Awesome, mate...
WOOW!! What an eye candy..... ME LIKE SHINY LIGHTS ;) An all in one unit ....... NICE! The foot switches are knobs too !!!
I would add a circuit of a TubeScreamer to it, to switch on/off when needed. Nice video man, the pedal blew me away.
Pre ordering it right now
I'd love to use this as my all-in-one recording solution. Just my bass + the ADAM.
This seems totally badass, I’m just hoping you can put up something where the more cleaner tones are a bit more explored.
This pedal sure has the distortion covered.
Shoutout for the T-40. Total sleeper.
When the fuzz kicks in at 33/34 seconds 🤤
Great Review! Very good informations and performances!
I have one doubt: You can send the IR to the unbalance (P10) output?
Thanks!
I must have the ULTIMATE UNIT!!!
Would love to see them use this technology for the Alpha Omega Ultra! and the rest of their lineup
Nolly just makes this pedal sing.
He does indeed m8
This ain’t Nolly "THIS IS PATRICK"
@@jobelewis6416😂😂
You really showed the versatility of this pedal. Thanks Patrick! (I'm now broke again :P )
insaaaaane!!!
yep, this can and probably wil replace my Pedalboard.
Just need to save up for it... a lot!
X ultra has some ADAM IRs in it. Or it may be just an update to the suite. Loving the "all the mids" one up top.
I just got a B7K Ultra V2 Squid edition and want to know if this is worth getting compared to separate pedals . I planned on getting a compressor and maybe a fuzz down the line , but this seems like all in one . Not sure if I would want to get too comfy with this becoming my main if I got it compared to experimenting with having a full board . I wonder how much it would be in CAD ? The B7K was the price of someone lower - mid level basses alone .
Would have liked to see you use the tuner tho I think that's a great feature 👍. I think its a great pedal I will get one!!!
That Sterling Sting Ray STILL gives me GAS every time I see it.
That burl top is just way too damn gorgeous.
Bought one just like it so my EBMM wouldn’t get dinged up anymore than it already is at live show, little did I know venues would be shut down months later. Can say it feels and sounds just as nice as it’s “bigger brother” and I wouldn’t hesitate to purchase another one.
Muy delicado para mi gusto , me imagino el precio y el hecho de estar pisoteando este pedal tan sofisticado . Y ni hablar de cuando requiera una reparación .
NO
The MultiBand compression can't be change
Comp is only for the FET compressor that is at the start of the circuit and it's the threshold
Fuck yeah. With my board this will consolidate it more
It's so awesome because it's green!!! woweee!!!!
Has Headphone out + Aux In? Dang, finally a contender for my SpectraDrive pedal for travel...
So far i'm loving this pedal solo, but in a band mix...regardless of how i sculpt mids it's just buried. So much so...going back to my original signal path mid song last week, the drummer said it sounded like I took a blanket off my cab. I know low gain is being added in a future update, but maybe a variable option on the blend knob to maybe low pass below 400 or 500 hz.
Edit 1 :) Regarding the mids - eq is after clean and dirt are recombined. If the eq was able to be placed before the split perhaps enough mid / high content could be boosted to drive the dirt section a little differently or put more punch vs low end rumble into the clean portion
Really wishing someone would do a video that showcases the clean sounds. I love the distortions but some of the bands I play in really require a good clean tone too.
I just got mine. There are no clean sounds.
Awesome. Want.
1:00 duude 🔥
Thinking about to sell my hole Pedalboard to get this Monstertool.
HEY ! How do you get so much clarity with it ? For me it sound like it has no tweeter in the cab. No top End no clarity
What is the background music during the first part of the description
Love darkglass but I’ll stick with my b7x ultra.
There's that Peavey T-40 that I'm lusting after again. Oh, pedal? Yeah, the pedal was nice too.
Anyone else having problems with the low end register for their pedal? So far I've toyed around with trying to find the issue, but I'm having trouble with increasing my bass knob directly from my bass and it just fuzzes out extremely to the point of me not even wanting to play through it. It's mostly an issue with the clean tone option and sometimes the distorted ones. I'd rather not have to sacrifice so much tone to just being able to play at all. Hopefully someone could help out with this issue.
How do you get that clarity ? Cause i use the ng3 with your preset and it does not sound the same
My only wish is darkglass would put a input level adjustment knob on their pedals swapping between my basses would make it so much easier to get my desirable results
I guess it's 'insane'. :-)
Savage. 😂🔥😂🔥
I want this soooo bad
O:34 ⚡⚡🔥🔥⚡⚡
This thing looks and sounds like it can and will replace ALL other Darkglass pedals and amps. This pedal sounds very "musical" meaning the notes are still clear. I'm in.
Cute. The Potis knobs have a white mark indicator. When using the presets the Mark does not correspond to the value. The Poti knobs should be neutral like at tc electronic‘s rebel head
Fuk yeah
Stingrays sound great with darkglass
Hey Pat, great video. I am 15 year old bassits with 620 bucks in my pocket. I want to buy the *Sire Marcus Miller M2 TBK* i would love if you make a review on it. Keep up the good work and have a nice day.😎
Just bought one the past month... It's a Fv÷ing beast!!
Just got mine today, when i first plugged it in, i was totally overwhelmed. However after you figure out how things work, it really does seem like its worth the hefty price tag. Id love if there was a way to save a true bypass to one of the buttons, instead of having to click two. thats so far my only complaint. I pair it with my DG omnicron, and use it for a boost or more heavy distortion. I have it currently setup with left button, main distotion, middle button fuzz, and right button clean. So far i am loving it.
update after having it a couple days. Its actually going back, it was just way too digital sounding in a live setting. I can see this thing being great in the studio as a preamp/session pedal. however, i tried to pair it with my DG alpha omnicron, and its just blowing out the gain stage on my amp. Its a really great stand alone pedal for the studio, but i just feel like its not quite there for Live. Like i said it doesnt pair well with other pedals imo. YMMV and happy jammin!
It would be Perfect if the distortion could be set Post or pre eq
*Former bassist of Periphery. Nolly left a while ago to focus on his studio and production.
He's still the bassist of Periphery. Just does not tour with them any longer. There was a whole documentary they released on UA-cam a while back that actually covers his role in the band still.
@@chrismeader3698 he produces their albums and plays bass on their albums (or at least the last one) but released a statement saying he was officially no longer a member of periphery. in that sense, he is as much a member of periphery as bob rock was of metallica.
Wait you mean darkglass pedals have a a use other than trying to sound like Nolly?
How is plug into amp and cabinet?
But will there be an ADAM 900?
Yo that T40 is the beez kneez
How works the chromatic tuner?
Is it true that it also has chorus?
I feel like spongebob right now... I don't need it. I don't need it. I don't need it.... I NEED IT!!!! *my Darkglass pedals are feeling that I will sell them for this one.*
That Peavy!!!
Hickam's Dictum incarnate.
im still waiting for a pedal that can store or sync effects from neural DSP parallax.
This would be awesome. I guess the challenge is the processing power that parallax uses. Maybe the Quad Cortex will do it?
The Quad Cortex will do this. No Darkglass pedal ever will.
@@joebasswizard yes i always think quad cortex is the best choice. we will never know. that would be awesome. I really like the parallax.
So is it just for bass?
As far as I love the idea behind it. The only thing I would really need is a vintage ultra with a third footswitch that control a second drive setting. I really love your channel but the video don’t demo it in deep as I would except. You could have done a 30 minutes video and I think this would still not have being enough.
Have you watched the one Nolly did? If so, I think you would understand why patrick did his video like this. Patrick explained things Nolly did not and vice versa. The only thing we haven't seen used for this pedal is a demo of the editor software.
But can you do a lot with it?
And if you ask nicely, it will do your dishes.
i can see myself stepping on the foot switch and accidentally turning the setting.
He covered that. You can lock the pedal settings so that doesn’t happen.
I was thinking the same thing 🤣
I would say this is probably, bass pedal of this shitty year!!!
Nice.... I'll trade you for a X7 Ultra and a Super Symmetry. 😅
Nice review ! 🤘
So I think I can get rid of my HL, HB, B7KU, XU, and Element and just rock this pedal
It sounds great, I am not saying no, but the pricetag! 530 euro is way too much for what is essentially a distortion pedal. For less than that I can buy an HX Stomp and get a lot more options.
Is the color called 4:20 green lol
Any noticeable delay with Bluetooth?
I'd like to know as well.
How would you even really notice a delay, it’s only for backing tracks/loops to send to aux in for practice?
I have hearing aids that connect via Bluetooth to my phone. I would hope there wouldn't be if I wanted to play along to music for example.
@@driverbass1554 But if there was a few ms delay, your playing along will be in time to whatever it is your are hearing, so any delay is in fact irrelevant? Or am I missing something? 🙂. Although, just to check, you’re not thinking the Adam emits Bluetooth audio, are you? As it does not, and will not as the latency with Bluetooth is too much for monitoring playing, on any device.
@@kevinhide6560 so what does the Bluetooth feature do?
Wow I can replace just about every pedal besides my tuner with this.
Yeah but it also has a tuner mode built-in too lmao
@@thanattis from other vids I've watched the tuner has struggled with low string tuning.
@@craiggoodreid7262 oh weird, do you have an example link of that demo? i thought the specs said it is supposed to be especially good for low tunings, which I would expect and makes sense given that it's designed by Darkglass and Adam, so i'd think that basically everything about the pedal should be good for low tunings
anyway, as far as an all-in-one replacement solution for every pedal including tuner, I ended up learning about the Line 6 HX Stomp while researching the ADAM more, and I decided to just order the Stomp. haven't gotten it yet, but it's shipping and looks pretty sweet!
So...Everything is digital now?
Everything from Darkglass, yes.
In a few years it will be impossible to tell the difference. It's hard now sometimes and miles better than 20 years ago.
I didn't understand how the presets move the knobs
The presets don't physically rotate the knobs, but switching presets between presets with different knob settings is indicated by changing the illumination of the LED or whatever lights that you see around the knobs. If you watch the video on Darkglass's channel of Adam demoing the pedal, you'll see when he switches presets on camera that the lights change to indicate the actual level currently being used. I'd guess that if you then start turning the knob to readjust the level, that the lights would sync back up with where the knob is physically pointing until you switch presets again. This does seem like slightly unintuitive but kinda makes sense and you'd probably get used to pretty quickly. Probably only way to avoid it would be to make the knobs entirely touch based like the EQs are. I'm not sure why exactly they did it this way, but hey
@@thanattis so cool didn't get this at first, it seems a reasonable solution though, in it self the pedal is great, even if it would have been sooo much cooler if the knobs did move with the preset hahaha
@@gabri43375 haha yeah I guess I realize that having the knobs auto-move would be a physically possible solution, but probably just more effort than it's worth or at least than Darkglass has developed the technical capability for yet. Would be pretty cool indeed. But yeah it seems that "so cool didn't get that at first" is sort of a theme for people's reactions to various features of this pedal haha. Like I heard about the five different distortion, compression, and cab sim modes but was like how do you get five modes out of turning the compression or drive knobs but had no idea that the foot switches were rotary until I watched Adam's demo video haha
Take 2: Show more sounds!
