This was an unexpected video; learning the only bobsled coaster I've ridden is the most intense "bobsled" coaster: Avalanche at Blackpool. Thanks for posting!
Alpine Bobsled's closure was inevitable, but La Vibora too and so soon after was disappointing. It had an open setting, mostly free of whatever gets in the trough, and was a popular family coaster. They could've kept it running a little longer with Alpine Bobsled's trains, but nope. Let's hope another Mack bobsled is built someday.
The first time, i've rode Bobbahn @ Heidepark, i pressed my legs for some reason against the restraints, because they are not that tight. At the uphill section, the middle folded a bit together. There are hinges inbetween seperating the front and back of each car and that kinda hurts when they folded upwards, pressing my legs against the restraint. Now I always have my legs angled a bit to each side.
Screamin' Delta Demon at Opryland was my favorite Bobsled. Probably the best ride in the park. Buried in the woods. Night rides were crazy. One of very few coasters from my childhood i vividly remember. Also loved Disaster Transport at cedar point. I rode repilian when it was calles avalanche.thought it was better as avalanche, but maybe some trees will grow around it with the reptilian theme over time. La Vibora, always fun ride.
Nice. A related list might be non-waterpark water rides. I can think of two: One was at Six Flags Over Georgia in the 90’s. The second is Dollywood’s Slidewinder which I think was one of the greatest rides to ever exist. It kind of had the Bobsled Coaster feel of total lack of control-but was even more unhinged.
I can’t lie, if I was a park, I would definitely try and buy one, because I think they are great, unique, family coasters, that are enjoyed both by the GP and Enthusiasts. Sadly, I doubt any reasonable manufacturer would produce one today. Even though mack offers them, I doubt they actually would given how long it has been since their last coaster, and its individual track style not found on any other mack coaster.
I from the region in the Netherlands where the Efteling is located i find it surprising that the Bob is not higher because is also the same seat setup as alpine bobsled and they have even remodeld the brake system to make it smoother so it only can be higher and the theming is even better but i dont have ridden they other ones so i dont have a good opinion of the rest
Great video my friend I really hope I get to ride one of these one day. I've done what's called an Alpine slide which is basically a smaller version LOL
I believe, I have some good news. Seems the 6 bobsled coasters, we still have, will stay for a long time. The by the park build Flying Turns at Knoebels will of course stay. They have build it and the park has now all experience to maintain it. The other 5 are from Mack Rides. 1. These coaster can still be ordered at Mack Rides; also most likely no one will ever do it again as the half pipe track, build of dozens of kilometers of small pipes, each one accordingly bend by machines and all welded together, will pretty sure not anymore done. Who will be able to pay such amount of work? 2. Mack Rides is still fully supporting these coasters and even more important, still have not stopped to further develope them. You can now buy new coasters trains, with comple new constructed main frames, milled out from a block (and not as former made of catsed steal). Mack Rides is fully supporting the parks, in updgrading the whole coasters electronis/electrics (what the parks have done). 3. Of all Mack bobsled coasters, only one is gone and this because the park was closed. 4. They have excellent capacities for a coaster of this size, up to 1750 for the biggest one and down to 1200 for the smaller ones. Regular, these are not full loaded, but still 1400 to 1000. 5. Families like them. You can go in with the whole families. 6. Parks have recently performed big investments, to keep them. Heide Parlk and Parc Asterix have spent several millios for new build trains. Kings Dominion has recently rethemed the whole area and instead kicking it, spent money to keep it as Reptilian. 7. Europa Park is owned by the Mack family, they do not kick old attractions, they always rebuild them (just remind all the coasters completely destroyed after the two big fires in last decade), refit them, maintain them, retheme them. But they keep them. Mack Rides will not stop to provide support as long the Europa Park exists. and so on..
👍Hopefully you'll get to Ride Flying Turns with your wife to get a better experience on that classic remake. Much better when the trains are heavier. Sorry I got in your way @ 2:41 😅
I will miss La Vibora because it was the coaster that really got me over my fear of coasters. I would love to see a park build a new one in the future. If the standup can be revived, I don't see why this can't!
Number 0: Disaster Transport! A bobsled so mild that I didn't even know it was a bobsled coaster when I first rode it, as it was very dark. Only Intamin one I ever did, but it didn't make much of an impression.
While I understand completely why they removed the bobsled from the great escape it made the visit worth it for me. We got to ride twice in our visits over the years. Always loved riding in the USA car and the park did right by honoring it and leaving a car/entrance out.
I see these Bobsled coasters as very intriguing, I even built one in Roblox Theme Park Tycoon 2 and has so much fun designing the layout, too bad this model is a dying breed.
I may have gotten a bad ride on Flying Turns. It wasn't shaky, but it was very slow the whole ride with no swaying. I said that their kiddie coaster is more intense. La Vibora's closure bothered me less than all the other recent ones, as it was tough to not get body-banging in it, but if I could avoid that, it has some positive aspects. I really liked Alpine Bobsled. I only got one ride in 2019, but I rank it far above those other 2. Reptilian has been my favorite, maybe only ranking it over Alpine Bobsled because I've been able to ride Reptilian a lot more. But I really like how Reptilian rides and the forces it brings, while still being a comfortable ride.
@@CanobieCoaster Flying Turns wasn't rough for me. It was a light train. If that makes such a massive difference, from a wild experience to more gentle than a kiddie ride, then I won't wait in that line in hopes of a full train.
I finally have one credit that you don't have: Disaster Transport. It used to be called Avalanche Run when it was outdoors, but they enclosed the model because it was an Intamin that would get filled with water. It was kind of a corny version of Space Mountain with the theming. It was kind of like you were in a space battle and you escape and make it to Alaska of all places. Nothing too impressive with forces, but it was still cool if you were a 4th grader. One of the robots from the Disaster Transport is located in the Rougarou's gift shop to this very day. (not positive which ride shop, but I'd like to say that on) La Vibora has a flaw in the paint job. Th color scheme of the coaster is Black/Red/Yellow/Black/Red/Yellow. The yellow is usually a small stripe in Mother Nature. If it's between the Black & Red it's the poisonous Eastern Coral. If the Yellow is in between the Black markings, it's a Scarlet King - Beautiful and safe. Non-venomous king Snakes btw are a predators of poisonous snakes btw, they are immune and feast on them
While the Alpine Bobsleds replacement is great, I miss the bobsled. Another downside not mentioned is the noise. As soon as Great Escape installed it they got a lot of noise complaints from neighbors. Apparently the sound would carry over the lake. This led to more down time as they wouldn't run it after 6pm for this reason
I think one way to maybe update the bobsled model, especially the Mack version is to do what Cedar Point did for Disaster Transport - make it an enclosed tube but make it capable to have audio/visual effects above the riders.
Flying Turns at #3 is shocking. I’ve been riding it since I was a kid, and I just don’t believe that any of the other bobsleds have the smoothness or maverick-esque transitions that Flying Turns does. La Vibora was straight up trash and the Mack ones are just slowwww
This was an unexpected video; learning the only bobsled coaster I've ridden is the most intense "bobsled" coaster: Avalanche at Blackpool. Thanks for posting!
I thought the same. It was a one and done for me, many years ago.
You're welcome.
I love these rides, so sad to see many gone, hope Intamin or MACK builds a new one, one day
Mack seems to be the most likely option.
Im glad you mentioned the way the cars on the intamins "jump the track" its just freaking crazy
It's such a weird sensation.
I just searched this thinking no one would make a video about bobsleigh coasters 😂😂😂
Yeah bobsled coasters are trash bobsleigh coasters are way better 😂
I will make videos about anything theme park.

It was a bummer both closed, but not unexpected.

I usually have mine straight out.

That looked similar to Bob.
Great video! I love bobsled coasters so much.
Thanks!
Aw man did you never get a ride on Disaster Transport? Was cramped and bizarre but extremely fun
“OHHH YEAAAAHHH!” -Kevin from @Defunctland
I didn't visit the park until it had already been removed.
I love bobsled coasters
They're fun.
Great list! I am very surprised Flying Turns didnt grab the top spot! I Abdelutely love this model!
1 Bob
2 Bobbahm
3 Avalanche
4 Sweitzer Bobbahn
The two Mack ones ahead of it are more intense.

I believe I've made a top water rides video in the past.

I assume they'd still do it since it's on the website.
I’ve only ridden Reptilian and I thought it was fine, but its one of my dads favorite coasters
That's fair.
R.I.P Intamin Bobsleds : 1984-2024
40 Years 🥲
Now They are Extinct...
RIP

Alpine Bobsled had heavier cars, so it would jump the track more noticeably.
Great video my friend I really hope I get to ride one of these one day. I've done what's called an Alpine slide which is basically a smaller version LOL
Those are fun attractions, but I'm always terrified I'll go too fast on them.
The hypothetical bobsled coaster from Cool Runnings would be #1
Feel the rhythm, feel the rhyme.
@@CanobieCoaster Get on up! It's Bobsled time!!!

I've ridden it with her pre-pandemic. So I've ridden it in multiple rows.

Shame-the Mack ones are intense, agree with Canobie about Avalanche at Bpb. If you can visit england give it a shot to see how intense they can be
I never rode it. Closed before I made it to Cedar Point.
Only ridden Disaster Transport and that was like it's last or second to last year. But I loved that thing.
Unfortunately that closed before my first Cedar Point visit.
I was one of the few who liked Alpine Bobsled when it was Rolling Thunder at Great America.
Nice!
While I understand completely why they removed the bobsled from the great escape it made the visit worth it for me. We got to ride twice in our visits over the years. Always loved riding in the USA car and the park did right by honoring it and leaving a car/entrance out.
Its removal was easy to see coming.

Flying Turns when loaded is just near capsizing levels of sway. Can easily nab #1 in the future.
I prefer the Mack ones, but I haven't gotten a full load of adults before.
I really really like Avalanche
Me too.

Did you have a light train on Flying Turns? That can explain a tamer experience. Odd it was rough though.

I've only been on Disaster Transport, the Air Conditioning was nice😆.
Unfortunately that closed before I got to Cedar Point.
I'm surprised you never did Disaster Transport
My first Cedar Point visit was after college.
I rode the best one yay!!!
Nice!
Reptilian was a great first non-kiddie coaster for me at 7 years old
Nice!
I'm a bit surprised you didn't get to ride Disaster Transport, given how extensive your coaster count is.
Most of my travels occurred after college. Disaster Transport had already been removed by that point.
No Disater Transport?
I never rode it. This list only includes the ones I experienced.
Did you never ride Disaster Transport/Avalanche Run?
Nope, my first visit was after it had been removed.
The only one ive been on is reptillan at kings dominion
It's still fun.

Never rode that one, which is why it was missing.
@CanobieCoaster at BPB Avalanche and Revolution being right next to each other makes for an intense old school double act.
