Congratulations to Knoebels for Phoenix winning the 2018 Golden Ticket Award for Best Wooden Coaster! That officially validates what many of us have felt for a long time - the best wooden coaster on Earth.
@Virgo Hamilton I'm lucky I live 2 hours from Knoebels. 1 hour from Hershey, 20 minutes from Dorney, and an hour and a half from Six Flags Great Adventure.
@Virgo Hamilton I have but haven't gone. I've gone to Knoebels and Dorney pretty much every year since I was little and Hershey maybe two or three times. I'm not.a big roller coaster person though so I just watch the videos on youtube. But I love going to them.
So I was always scared of bigger rollercoasters, and always stuck to my safe favorites , the 2 wooden coasters here at Knoebels. But when they opened Impulse my boyfriend somehow convinced me to get on it (I actually waited in line once then chickened out lol) but once I got on it oh boy. I never had so much fun in my life. Definitely a great introductory steel coaster for those wanting to start riding some of the bigger and scarier coasters out there. It had me hooked!!
Since i first began forming memories in the 80s Knobels has and will always be my happy place. One reason is the older i get its fun to see things change but Knobels barely has changed. Some rides have been removed and new ones added but 90% of what my 80s kid brain remembers is still there.
Many of their rides have historic significance: Phoenix: Originally the Rocket at Playland Park in San Antonio Texas; first wooden coaster to be relocated Twister: Replica of Mister Twister at Elitch Gardens in Denver Colorado Black Diamond: Track from the Golden Nugget in Wildwood New Jersey; listed as same ride Flying Turns: Replica of several Flying Turns of the 20's and 30's
@@JosiahFickinger No Impulse was not based off of Fahrenheit. Fahrenheit was built by Intamin and Impulse by Zierer. Kozmo' Curves was built as a replacement for High Speed Thrill Coaster and contains some elements of its predecessor while having its own identity.

But he passed away :(. And not that long ago I was at Knoebles for a field trip for school it was AWSOME! And the black diamond is better when the lights are off.

Right where Kosmo's Kurves is used to be a older coaster called High Speed Thrill Coaster that closed back in 2008. It was my favorite coaster growing up, and the only one I dared to go on. Up until I was 18 I was too petrified to go on Twister or the other ones, which today I do adore. Kurves never filled the hole in my heart that High Speed left behind, I never found it to carry that same special touch. And yes I've been on Kurves many times to confirm this. Will always love and remember High Speed Thrill.
Black Diamond seems very interesting! At times it seems like they actually put in a chain lift to slow down the train instead of raise it where it would usually move quickly due to inertia and momentum. Very interestingly engineered ride, I'd love to give it a go.
Phoenix looks like a blast with all that air time. I like the looks of twister as well. Some of those drops look amazing. Impulse looks to be fun as well. Have to go sometime.
Phoenix is my favorite coaster ever specifically for air time. It feels like you're out of your seat more often than you're in it. There are two hills towards the end where it doesn't even feel like you regain your full weight between them. One of the best ever, highly recommend.

Kosmos Kurves is so rough now… I rode it for the first time since 2017-2018, it was fun, but throwing me around and just needs to get repaired or something. (I also rode impulse and phoenix but couldn’t find flying turns or twister. I only rode Kosmos Kurves because my bro wanted to.)
What do you guys recommend impulse as my first upside down coaster? I’ve never been on a roller coaster that has an upside down track and I want to start it off with something fun. I don’t know if this would be a good start. Any advice?
Is this park geared more towards younger kids or are there a lot of roller coasters here? I like Hershey Park bc they have 13 coasters. I’m debating if I should try knoebels but my job gets tickets half priced ..
There's lots of thrill rides. 5 of the 6 coasters are thrill rides plus there's two water rides, a haunted house, a drop tower, and several other thrill rides. There's also a swimming pool and water slides. I'd say it probably fits in the family park category but it's sure not strictly a kid's park. I'm 30 and don't have kids and always have a blast.

yeah, i don't think a coaster with that much airtime should have that little of a restraint, they should put in some proper lap bars
Twister Productions, No! You are not little.
Wow do they always do 7 laps on the kiddie coaster or was that the TPR special?
Yes they do because of how short it is
my local parks kiddie coaster is SMALLER than that one and it only goes around 2 times...
Usually they wait to see how long the line is and if it is short it’ll go around a few extra time but usually it’s about 4-5 times around.
its usally 3 or 4 but other than that I think its TPR special
Ian Graham they usually do 3

“Purple coaster” is what my family calls Kozmo’s Kurves😂
Oh I definitely recommend the Cosmatron I told the people who were working at it and I told the to play Old Town Road and they did and everyone riding the cosmatron were singing to it
Kosmos Kurves is so rough now… I rode it for the first time since 2017-2018, it was fun, but throwing me around and just needs to get repaired or something. (I also rode impulse and phoenix but couldn’t find flying turns or twister. I only rode Kosmos Kurves because my bro wanted to.)
Knoebels is 5 minutes from my house. Really convenient, it's a great park.
What do you guys recommend impulse as my first upside down coaster? I’ve never been on a roller coaster that has an upside down track and I want to start it off with something fun. I don’t know if this would be a good start. Any advice?
Urgurl_ Gia I’d personally go for something with maybe one or two inversions and a drop that isn’t vertical
I say yes, it's always a good time
I'm the biggest fan of the Phoenix
I went on kosmos curves...It hurts! It was fun tho.
Knoebels is what I miss most since I moved away from central PA.
I love knobels so much!
I'm going for my birthday I went back in 2015 for the 4th of July its really fun
I love Black Diamond!
