I do believe Kaia has her own personal struggle with mental health. That being said, I do think being the daughter of Cindy Crawford does help her feel more secure in the industry. As far as I can remember, I've dealt and struggled with my mental health for years; whether it's comparing myself to others; or not thinking I'm good enough (keep in mind I'm only 18, I'm still young). Modeling is something I've thought about doing for a while. There are many times where I think modeling isn't for me because of how crazy the industry. I want Vogue to show how men deal with mental health and self-esteem in the modeling industry.

It doesn’t matter who is on the thumbnail stop complaining about every simple thing
Probably because she’s the most know you know
So then you could say that about every other model on the thumbnail...
I meant that Kaia already gets the advantages of being Cindy's daughter (ofc not saying she isn't good cuz her walk is amazing) but putting another model will get her so much more exposure and probably publicity. And honestly yes Kaia could have gone thru stuff but it just seems to minimize other people's suffering when u put someone of so much privilege among them
Tanisha Pethe I get what your saying but this people put the most relevant face in the thumbnail because people are already familiar with them so they are more likely to click on the tittle
I love how open they were, it is so eye opening
i feel so represented in this video, they’re speaking up for a lot of models that don’t have the space or possibility to speak
Wow, i love when models open, because in that way we are not only appreciating their beautiful bodies, but we are appreciaring their beautifuls souls
Kaia looks so mature in the makeup 😂😂I thought it was Cindy in thumbnail but then looked closely that's kaia
I love how they put the video together. I think particularly Kaia’s input is so valuable lol. Contrast in understanding capacities hits hard
i feel like the industry hasn't affected kaia as much as the other models so far, but i think that in a few years she'll definitely have a lot more to say
I checked in for Kaia, stayed for
Adesuwa Thongpond Pariyasapat Aighewi.❤
"There's a lot of pressure to be.... You know Perfect"
I could listen to Adesuwa forever.
I’m just getting into the industry, and this was rly good to hear. I’ll be balancing modeling and high school next year, but luckily I have amazing parents that have made it clear that if it intervenes with my schoolwork or is harmful to my mental/physical health, I will stop.
I hope and pray that this video is able to start discussions in the fashion community that’s are long time coming, along with affirmative action.
@@mediaclipszone4184 its not a competition. but yr just devaluing their experiences
@@mediaclipszone4184 You clearly know nothing about mental health with all your gatekeeping. People mask and hide their mental health all the time, until you hear that something terrible happened to them or they had to quit their job...and as most of these girls mentioned, the models usually DO quit after 5 years because their mental health took such a hit. The ignorance you have to believe that only YOU can determine when someone else has mental health issues based on whether YOU see them. You are dangerously ignorant. If your family and friends were in trouble, you wouldn't even know.
@@brennam954 I am under medication for 2 years and half so suck on that.
Love this. Makes people more relatable with a topic like this. I struggle with depression myself and i’m totally for getting people to speak up about it ♥️
Yes, we need to make it where there's nothing even remotely taboo about it.
I started modeling at 18, and luckily freelanced and never signed with an agency. I did my best to keep it fun, but it still wore on me. Loved seeing this truth.
I hope you take care of mental health 💜
@@rowangoodmann3069 that's the focus of my life actually 😌 thank you!
@@Radianty_Ella 💜💜 I wish the best for you
I feel like I'm so in need of like getting Miss Adesuqa, Miss Anok, and Miss Adut to just sit down with each other and just talk random stuff. Doesn't even have to be modeling or fashion talk. Their wits are really appealing and endearing.
We need to see more of this transparency and sincerity. It goes such a long way to uplift and empower all woman. ❤️
Love this! People diss the social media models / age but the great part is seeing lots of models’ vlogs and vids like these and witness their personalities, intelligence, drive, interests... Objectification of women is still an issue and has caused myself mental health issues too.
Kaia is so naturally pretty and literally looks the same as her mom but I lowkey feel bad because her mom is freakin CINDY CRAWFORD-
subsvogue Her modelling career came to her pretty easily, she never has to worry about money and she has someone to give her modelling advice. Don’t feel too bad.
@@tauntaun9660 she sure is a product of nepotism but you gotta know that this young girl works hard.. gives her all and is humble af. Give her a credit at least. 🙃
Roseanne Park's manager I agree! She even recognises her privilege, unlike a lot of other models.
Ishani Chakrabarty *cough* kendall jenner
Oh boo boo how sad
I can literally listen to Alessandra, Adut and Anok forever
im so in love with ✨ *Adesuwa Aighewi* ✨
im a bit confused Vogue posted this though...Haven't they promoted the things they're talking against like since forever
Hearing the current faces of fashion speak was incredible, thank you. This industry has a long way to go regarding a lot of things; especially mental health. This video was a step in the right direction.
Very proud of the ladies for speaking out about their struggles, depression, anxiety and what’s really going on in the modeling industry. 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
I feel like Kaia was there for click bait by the producers. I love her tho
it was really touching what paloma said at the end
The message behind this video is very powerful & I hope it is trending. It is sad how society have taken over peoples lives. Stay strong models & aspiring models, you're more than just another pretty face. 🙏🏾🙏🏾👌🏾
The thing is, is that the majority of human beings are in jobs where they are being held up to unrealistic standards of perfection, maybe not regarding looks but regarding job performance. They are also afraid of being replaced, but they are making far less money than all of you are making. In that five years you are talking about, you can probably accumulate more money than the rest of us can in a lifetime.
I hope that vogue is doing its part to help support models + creators and is making an effort to create more safe spaces.
Self esteem is really like fighting in a war with ourselves.
Adesuwa and Anok😍🙌bold,beautiful and brilliant!
I love the diverse representation! Well done Vogue, keep it up
"they just want to struggle and stay rather than leave"
wow. that sounds like an abusive/toxic relationship
It warms my heart to think about all the wonderful people out there like these young and brave women.
I am sorry but Kaia Gerber is the worst fit to this video. I mean do i even have to explain this.
exactly my thoughts !! speaking about her own problems with self esteem when the image that she is portraying onto young girls is so incredibly unhealthy and causing their own lack of self esteem...like huh
Samantha V so basically because of the body she has she can’t struggle with mental health?
@@samanthavalle757... It isn't her fault that she is in an industry were women(girls mostly) have to be like that, shame the industry, not the model. So well let's cancel most models here because they are convencially pretty, tall and thin. Ew.
She spoke really well in my opinion and sometimes u know saying nothing could help with you cause u seeem like a TE-PRAAT(google it)
This is heartbreaking. I hope they are strong and the industry gets better.
those two girls (sorry i dont know their name) are so real and insightful and intelligent! They remind me of left eye (tlc) when she exposed the music industry (on why artists are so broke despite selling millions of records).
Very wise for their age.
Anok Yai and Adesuwa Aighewi😁
Howdy thanks! 😊
the whole industry sucks
Literally! So true!! What is it good for?
@@oliviaerindaly they better leave it if they don't like it
tbh everything sucks in this world today
@@saraviola8177 suicide?
Lol O insensitive?
I like Garcia’s voice- so strong and assertive type of voice!!
People don’t understand that models are real people too. They might look beautiful but deep down their humans and they’re so kind and stand up for important things.
Hate to be that person but even in a video talking about struggles.... Kaia sounds so privileged. I mean i just wish the privileged lot accepted it and be like yeah, we do have it easier and we're very grateful for it.
Agreed
YESS MIKA WAS ON THE VIDEO
So glad this subject of mental health in the modeling industry bought to light
Love this piece Vogue! It's different and educational. Shows a glimpse of the side that not a lot of people focus on but is so crucial to understand. Especially for young girls/women who want to enter or make it in the industry.
So important that people open up more about this topic!!
This is real life stories. Amazing that people now are so vocal with everything, this will enlighten new young models of our generation
Yesssss.....let's be more real and showcase sides of the industry like this. This is so inspiring hearing people share their real stories
This video is so awesome. I would never think these difficulties that models face with!
I’m really grateful for telling the truth!
All these models are amazingly beautiful and strong spirit!
You models are amazing and It’s so hard to be in a world where it can really affect your emotions physically and mentally, but to see that you models are staying so strong gives other people the bravery to stay strong in their hard times to❤️
To the models and to Vogue, thank you so much for this. This was an open and honest conversation that was needed to be discussed ❤.
This is beautiful. I’m glad I came across this even though I am subscribed to this channel. I needed to hear this, because I am battling with my thoughts about myself and how I don’t feel beautiful. It has come down to my somewhat called boyfriend , he makes me feel Insecure. I dont make him feel bad about himself, I try to uplift him up. But anyways , why am I so much better without him, he’s the worst person I’ve ever met, because of that, I really don’t want to feel insecure
They are all so well spoken
I am so happy this video was released . I 100% relate as a model in NY who is now 25 and trying to survive during covid especially . sending hugs to everyone who relates #urnotalone
It occurred to me that the way some of the women in this video describe the reality of making your body or face a commodity is similar to the way that professional athletes might feel...
Thanks for this, VOGUE!!
i love mika so much
There all so stunning 😍 so are all of there stories.🔥 it just goes to show things really do pay off tho.👑

The two women sitting next to each other have such good vibes and are SO BEAUTIFUL inside and out 😍😍😍
Omg adesuwa is crazy beautiful and her voice is so soothing 😍😍
So powerful and necessary. Thank you Vogue!
can we all appreciate the BEAUTIFUL diversity in this video? 💕
ADESUWA AIGHEWI 😍😍😍
This is such a beautiful video and discussion - One I am really grateful I get to hear more about now, and share in my communities. Thank you to all the models for your vulnerability - you're beautiful (role)models ❤️
this should be a documentary on netflix pls during quarantine
what do people do after their modeling career is over? that scares me most about going into modeling
Well some go into acting or just start thier own company 😉
University.unless u r like.a big.huge model but its rare those days.naomi is still working and is one of the biggest and most.known models.those who will still wrok are the famous ones kendall ,kaia, gigi,,bella

These days, the things we see are not all true. What we need to do is, to be honest, trust yourself, think positive, and don't fall into the things you see on your phone. We all are unique and special!
paloma is sooo well spoken i love her
I'm a few months late lol. However, I wanted to speak on this issue.
Supermodels of the 90’s are what I think of when I think of women who are empowered models💕 People like Gisele who give so much to charities & put an importance on being kind🙏🏼
