Aaaah... I see another apreciator of Touhou backgrounds, I never thought of how would Pc98 bacgrounds look in modern Touhou, and yep, this looks great (I love the end with the slow moving structures, makes me remember the Kanako's stage background)

we definitely need to see the background of the Makai's great city remastered. - and if we go by what little lore we have, Makai is/has enough development to have inter-world tourism sector.
I think 1:20 and 2:30 would probably be too aggressively flashing in an actual game if that's what you're going for. Imagine trying to dodge danmaku against a strobing background. Good for a video on its own like this though. 2:53 is a great transition to the last spell.
True, it's better to have them changed to plain blue and red background ingame. But my ass just doesn't like if the background video is just plain blue & red background
I feel like you would absolutely ADORE Blue Devil in the Belvedere Stage 6's background, given how dynamic it can be, with the sweet details like both of Sonia von Auersperg's phases changing up the bg and even how crashing through the big fancy window is before the fight starts.

Ngl Shinki's theme is one of my favorite themes from PC98 Touhou, alongside Now Until the Moment You Die, Alice in Wonderland, and Grimoire of Alice
Eternal Shrine Maiden is my favorite, especially the remake in ZUN’s first album

i hope makai makes a return, always wondered what it looks like (ik stage 6 UFO exist but thats just a small section of makai)

Unironically one of the best animations I've seen, the setting is wildly daunting and altogether you made it look amazing. Good work!
