The math for all these battery mowers just doesnt add up. You look at the volts and amp hours, it puts them 1-1.5hp max. It means shorter runtime or taller cut. I say if you want electric go corded. 13 amps (all the time)x 120v =1.56kw, ie 2hp. Thats the closest you will get to gas (3-5hp).
Henry - this and your other comment are both super helpful. Do you use gas or corded?
What’s up my Nashville Brother!!!??!?!?!?
Brah, wouldn’t waste my $$$$ on Makita. Have you ever considered the Toro TimeMaster???? 30” cut, dual blade, self-propelled, AND max cut weight is 4.25”!!!!
Looking at buying one, but not cheap! (about $1,500). Dude, if you could get you hands on one to review, that would be AWESOME!
Hope you, you’re family, and “lil’ man” are doing well.
LOVE those videos, Brother. Keep ‘em coming!!!!
Ignore all of the grammatical errors. Autocorrect sucks! 😂😂😂
The TimeMaster is a BEAST. By far the best walk-behind mower - period. I'll have to check one out. I mostly stick with battery powered stuff but the TimeMaster is definitely on my list.
Thanks for the well wishes and I appreciate you taking the time to watch my video, Mike!
@@TheLawnReview I believe Toro has introduced a battery-powered version - at a price of about $1K more.
A lot of the quality of the cut come from the shape of the blade which you don't seem to be concern by.
The makita's blade don't feel very good. Pretty light and don't feel like a good blade.
They should make a better blade.
@@TheLawnReview they should stop produce lawnmowers my makita the same model works 5 mins at 2x6.0 Ah and almost cooking baterie
Have you received the Milwaukee 18. I have this mower and it’s the best mower Iv ever owned gas or electric. Iv owned Honda HRX, ego, green works to name a few
Yes! It is probably my favorite mower: ua-cam.com/video/wBz5qkQgCfw/v-deo.html
Is it better than the Husqvarna Lawn Xpert LE322R?
Could you do one on the Yardworks one to please. I never sees anyone doing any on the Yardworks products.Tia
Hmm I'll have to check them out. Where can I find them?
@@TheLawnReview Canadian Tire i know of for sure. Not sure of any other company that may carry them your way. Thanks for the reply.
This isnt about this particular mower, but just interested in your opinion on electric lawn care tools, particularly EGO.
Do you think you could use them to have a full electric part time residential business? Ive looked particularly at the 52" EGO riding mower and they are working on commercial products this year.
I live close to a lot of housing communities with sub 1 acre lawns and have thought about trying to start a fully electric mowing/weed eating/edging business since where i live, there's a lot of more liberal people who value green energy
Where i live, if you just do lawn care, you dont have to have a landscaping liscense and can just work with a business license
I bet you could. You'd have to figure out charging or have a solar generator or something - but you could definitely pull it off.
@@TheLawnReview I've read up on power inverters for trucks that you could use to charge on the go, or maybe you could figure out a solar solution during sunny days
How much of a pro is it that I’ve got battery’s and chargers already for it from my other power tools? I had this and Makita string trimmer in my cart until I found your channel. May have to go elsewhere with lawn care equipment.
If you're getting a really good deal on it without the batteries, then it is fine.
This isn't a bad mower, it just isn't as good compared to the others. Worth it if its a sweet deal.
Starting this mower is a …. WHAT??
........................difficult task.
lost me at steel deck....if it was aluminum, then it would have a chance.....I am EGO for the past 5 yrs and am very satisfied...clicks all the boxes for me....Makita is just late to the party and nothing revolutionary
Couldn’t agree more!!
This is Makita's LXT line in the video. XGT is their latest line. XGT has an improved motor (1.9KW) and new batteries up to 16 AHs with two 8 AHs. It shines in tall dense grass. I got the 480mm XGT (3200rpm) with 4x swing back blades in Australia.
I can't understand, with the competition in this market, who this company is trying to market to especially at this price point? Everything about this mower seems thoughtless from the 4 different batteries to the convoluted startup and then to the gimmicky low noise setting.
I've been surprised to see a lot of brands like this - Stihl and Toro being others that started too late. Thanks for watching!
I understand overlapping, but you would be fired if you worked for lawncare business. You only want to overlap your tire tracks for a clean cut. The amount of time and fuel/ battery life you are wasting for not using the majority of your deck width is ludicrous.
You're totally right. Just do it to provide extra luxury care to my lawn. Would also use a way wider mower like the TImeMaster if I was mowing for money.
If you have a business you are using a Time Master and that doesn’t require overlap since the blades extend past the wheel track.
