No news is good news (great news) after 1 year and 18,000 miles - thanks for the update. This report is very comforting for recent buyers awaiting delivery such as myself. Thanks!
Had mine for 2 years and 2 months now and still rock solid. Its a nissan pathfinder 2022 s model. Me and my wife's loving it. Skeptical at first but glad we got one for our first car. Great for a family car...^_^
@@piyushan_abeynayakeThanks! I had to call quite a few dealerships as they were all marked up. Luckily, i got two to fight over my business and ended up getting it for 47k out the door. My state tax is 6.25, lol the other dealerships wouldn’t budge from 52k out the door. Oh, and another one wanted 58k before ttl LOL! I also got the beautiful sandstorm color with the black top that i wanted!
@@ahealthystudent Thanks for getting back. That's a great price OTD, and a great choice of color as well. Probably will start shopping around shortly as our Subaru Crossstrek is getting a bit too cramped for our current needs. Good luck!
I saw that edition in dealer showroom when getting oils change. Very nice! 45k but no sky roof option. I love that on my platinum edition 2022. I do like the all black header inside as opposed to my putty colored one. I’ve always like all black. Sporty and practical. My 2020 Z has all black. Anyway…great choice! Enjoy.
This was so helpful! I am looking at a 2023 now but to hear a review from someone who has had the 2022 model for a year is so much more valuable than a test drive review. Especially when some of the consumer reviews on Edmunds were pretty damn scary (granted there was only like 40 haha).
I’ve had mine for a year and 2 months, 10k miles on it, I live in Canada, so far no serious issues and I love everything about it, it worth every penny.
LOL. Same here right now. 2022 platinum edition with 18k and 11 months old. Still like new! No rattles and interior looks great. I live in south west desert and have had some blowing sand a few times. Not a scratch or pit on exterior. Only thing I do is forget to turn it off when parking in public. Runs so smooth and quiet and I’m preoccupied getting phone and everything I get out and walk away wondering why it wo t lock with key fob LOL. (Probably shouldn’t admit that part:)Have to hit off button. Transmission shifts smooth and I usually use sport mode on interstate. Plenty of power and tight handling in sport. Haven’t noticed any change in mileage. 25 mpg (give or take a mile) on road trips. Funny, I really loved my 2011 pathfinder. No longer any similarities but both great SUVs.
Always do transmission service every 30,000 miles. I always do a drain and fill only (never flush) on the transmission fluid with Nissan oem fluid and at 60,000 miles i drop the transmission pan and clean the magnets. It will last a very long time on maintenance ☺️. Always stick to oem fluids on newer cars. As far as coolant, when its cold the coolant goes below the half mark and when its hot it goes to full as the fluid expands under high pressure (the reservoir).
18 months old now, 22000ks, I'm a retired mechanic from Sydney, coolant on low mark when cold, no biggy at this stage. maybe a bit of air in the system from new thats taking its time to bleed out who knows. Its only an egg cup full or so. apple car play drops every blue moon. But apart from that, very happy with it. I run 98 hi octane fuel, doesn't feel sluggish at all. High compression direct injection loves hi octane, more mid range torque, makes the 9 speed work a bit better. Also i change my oil about every 3500ks or 4 months, oil filter every second time.
I test drove one recently. I was hoping it would feel more unibody-SUV than the last Pathfinder I drove (a few years ago) but it still felt truckish to me. The V6 felt a bit sluggish too. I was a bit underwhelmed, which disappointed me because I wanted to like it.
Thank you for doing this update. I’ve always wondered about this particular pathfinder model with the new 9 speed automatic tranny. I hope it will last you a long time. I’ve lost faith in Nissan already. I have a 2018 versa note. An entry level car with the cvt. 34K miles on it and having so many tranny problems. Never missed a service date and drove responsibly.
Thanks for review and its helpful. Stuck betweeen pathfinder and palisade. Does it show you when the coolant is down? and what nissan mechanic say about this issue? Tx
drove my 22 nissan pathfinder SL 4wd premium package over 5,000 miles and fully loaded. even climbed up to Mt. Washington in New Hampshire (8,000 ft above sea level). only issue i was scared of is that the rear suspension flexed over (obviously because of weight), and i was scared it's gonna end up having a Negative Camber for good but thank god i was wrong. another small issue was the apple carplay maps freezes once in a while even with using a cord. Nissan's built in navigation kinda sucks compared to google or apple maps.
Thanks for the comments. I have also had the carplay freeze a couple of times. Usually after I have been driving for a few hours. Guess it just has to reboot sometimes. I also agree that Nissans nav isn't the best. I never use it.
I had the same issue with my CarPlay i took it in to the dealer and there was some kind of update to be done, and I haven’t had that issue at all anymore
@@qaraxx.0187 nope. I forced Nissan to lemon law repurchase it from me almost 1 year ago. Electrical problems. Battery kept dying and Nissan would just charge it or replace it. Kept saying they couldn’t figure out what was happening. I’m pretty sure they know what it was but just didn’t want to address it. Might lead to a massive recall. Look up Nissan Smart Alternator problems. You will find what I think was the real cause. I’m considering doing a final video to detail my experience. I loved driving that vehicle but ultimately it was not reliable for me.
Does your Pathfinder make a clicking noise when turning the steering from a standstill or low speed? I noticed this noise a couple weeks ago on my PF. It’s a 4wd with only 2k miles on it.
Will be posting an update soon. I forced Nissan to lemon law buyback the vehicle due to ongoing problems with the battery. Will be posting a video on that and the process I had to go through. Search for "nissan smart alternator" and see what you find.
Yeah I guess I say it a little too much. Keep in mind this isn't scripted. I'm just hitting record and talking, but I will work on it. Thanks for pointing it out.
I have a 2022 Platinum I purchased in May 2022. I love it. My only complaints would be that it buries itself in gears after a strong take off and that makes it very hard to pass without flooring it (Sport Mode too). I saw in a reviewers video where they said it's for fuel savings. It's just something I have tried to get used to. I have had a time or two where the volume gets stuck and won't go up or down on the infotainment system and I'd have to pull over, put it in Park, turn off the vehicle and open the door and restart and it works. I still love it though.
The transmission shifting is the only thing I'm leery about. When the '24 Passport comes out, I'll drive both. Nissan has loaded up the creature comforts in the Platinum. They offer more than the competition. Do I choose luxury over a finicky transmission?

How many times did u change the oil over the one year period?

Glad, you’re enjoying it! I just purchased a 23 Rock Creek edition and love it!
Congrats on the purchase. BTW, have not seen much pricing info on the Rock Creeks yet. Are the dealers marking them up way high?

My '22 does have a vibration that I can hear at cruising without music. Ac was finicky but I think a firmware update might have fixed it.
Thanks for commenting. Have you checked alignment or tires? I have seen tire problems cause that kind of thing.
@@michaeld1866 thanks for the idea. I'll pay attention to that.

I don't hear any noises on mine. However, mine is only 2wd. Maybe tech at the dealership can ID the noise.
Can you put up a video that shows us how to top off the coolant reservoir? Not sure where it’s located. Thanks!
I no longer own the vehicle and will be posting an update video soon with explanations.
I have 30,0063 miles on mine still going strong.
I’ve had it 2022 one year 2 months.
I know this is an old post but I was wondering about rear brakes. Saw many complaining about pads to be replaced at 20k.
Any updates? I’m looking into a 2022 pathfinder with about 40k miles on it
