How to Write Keywords for Shutterstock, and 11 other agencies at one time!

- One of the best ways to have your photos and footage found (and sold) in on Shutterstock and other agencies is by adding relevant keywords and good descriptions. I'll show you how to do it fast and effective to make your photos ready for all other stock agencies and how to automate the process that will increase your income!

I'd never heard of Adobe Bridge so, thanks for that. The big reason I haven't subscribed to multiple sites is the amount of time it takes to generate entries for all the photos.
I photograph plants and flowers mostly and use scientific names. Difficult to remember so I've tried various methods of saving the keywords using Excell and Notepad. Still time-consuming but the Adobe Bridge looks like it could speed things up a lot.

Yep! I just started to use shutterstock and also found their keyword tool very useful and firstly I upload files onto shutterstock to get the keywords.
Good job! Focus mainly on Adobe Stock and Istock and if you have enough patience you can think of other agencies too.
Jacek Sopotnicki Yes, I have Getty and Adobe accounts. Interesting, but Getty makes much more spellings for me then Adobe for now. There is another great thing about Shutterstock is the speed of reviewing. Some times it is about 30 minutes or less.

Alamy is nice but it's for sure not enough to make decent amount of extra money. Good decision to expand!

One of the best videos about keywording on YT! Thank You! In my case this workflow doesn't work with videos. I don't know why, but after import keyworded files on getty or adobe stocks - keywords disappear :( There are none. Titles and descriptions are also missing.
Kewording videos is a bit annoying, I'll post a video about it soon

curious, where, how you get the ftp info from each of the agencies? guess they identify you via the meta data in the photos.. ?

Super odcinek, dodam że można używać też total Commandera jako FTP i opisywać fotki w Lr ale zauważyłem że zdjęcia które mają w nazwie jakąś cyfrę nie chcą się wysłać do shutterstock a jak te cyfry kasuje to już jest ok. Luks trick dałeś z tym opisem pierw na Ss. Pozdro!! Ps. Fajnie że nie ukrywasz swoich zarobków to doceniam.

Hey! Thank you. I don't upload to snapwire. And yes smartphone can be used for stock photo / video but you have to have the right subject, since you can't compete with quality of Pro camera with Pro lens.

where did you get the FTP info for each stock house? I've never heard of this technique. How does it know to show your images in your account?

Tak, ale to trochę bardziej skomplikowane. Musisz wygenerować pliki CSV i nie każdy stock to czyta. Najważniejsze to chwytają.

Just checked it, looks great actually very similar to the one provided by Shutterstock. With that difference that Shutterstock is not the most liked stock agency now, to say at least
Please, help me, Jacek, I chose 10 still images to grow more agencies instead of just two. I placed in Shutterstock with 5-10 keywords to jumpstart the keyword process there. Using the system I increased the keywords to 40-50. I moved to Bridge. My images were each changed with keywords from Shutterstock (using copy keywords)to create my "loaded" file folder. I used the Keywords tab for adding keywords and the metadata tab for adding the description. I moved each file to my new subfolder for expanding my empire. Hahaha. I moved to FileZilla and made connections to Pond5 and Adobe. It's great how quickly that works with multiple tabs. FTP was smooth. They show up at the 2 sites. Seems the description moved perfectly. My files though have 5-10 keywords. Not 40-50. Bad news. I was just curious so I check the file by clicking "command I" and there they are. What!? Yes, the keywords are in the file but did not make the trip to the agency dashboard. What did I do wrong?
Huh difficult to tell, is it pond 5 problem only?
@@JacekSopotnicki Jacek, thanks for your work. No, not Pond5 only. I am interested in your final result. That is, larger number of agencies without large amount of time dealing with input. Have you tried the spreadsheet approach to entry? Have you tried IMStocker software for keyword creation?
Good tips, but how do you do for editorial images? All the agencies have different requirements for dates, years in different orders and different descriptions. Any tips for editorial? I see this only working for commercial. I would appreciate some help. Thanks
Good question! We always use that scheme: City, Country - Month Day, Year: Description and it always works. Hope it helps :)

Why don't use xpics? It is free and is practicly the same as sutterstock keywording tool. It is two steps less to do. After keywording in expics the keywords are in the photo and you have to put it in Bridge or Photoshop.

Witam, zacżalem przygodę ze stockami. czy może Pan mi doradzić jak rozliczać się w Polsce z tego co zarobimy na bankach zdjęć?
My poprosiliśmy o to zaprzyjaźnione biuro rachunkowe, biorą bardzo mało, rozliczenie jest proste i płacimy tylko raz w roku. Osobiście nie bardzo wiem jak to się rozlicza, ale podatku nie trzeba od tego płacić ponieważ jest już rozliczony w kraju w którym znajduje się bank zdjęć.

Jacek, thanks for sharing Your ritch experience. And my question is: Why do You pick Adobe Bridge instead of let's say Adobe Lightroom? I tend to write my keywords in Lr and it seems to work just fine. Do You see any cons of it?
And the second question is about 5 most important keywords for Adobe Stock. Are those keywords (written in Br or Lr) not set in alphabetical order? It's weird to me that Adobe Stock recognizes that. But if it really works on Br, that's also answer for my first question.

Hey, thanks for reaching out. I just got used to bridge, if Lightroom works better for you it's great but ultimately it doesn't really matter. As far as I know it's just first five you have attached to the picture.

Cześć. Zrobiłem wszystko tak jak pokazałeś. Świetny sposób. Niestety w Dreamstime, Depositphotos i 123RF nie widać przesłanych plików. Jaka może być tego przyczyna? Miałeś może podobnie z którymś z tych stockow? W innych stockach pliki są widoczne np Adobe czy BigStock.

Tak sprawdzałem dawno temu I o ile pamiętam działało. Ale nie gwarantuję na 100%. Można zrobić próbę na kilku zdjęciach i wrzucić na shutterstock oraz adobe stock i wszystko będzie na 100% jasne.
Wczoraj z tym walczyłem ale nie wyszło, więc działam Twoim sposobem
