Great work. It's very good to see a full comparison not only for the part in question when comparing with stock, but also with the dyno modes on FWD and AWD. Love how violent these cars deliver power BTW!!!!
All of the decent turbo inlets and intakes definitely make power on these cars. The inlet is honestly imo one of the best 'bang for buck' mods. I've seen then make around 10whp consistently and most of this power is across the entire rev range which makes it even better being it's good for more than just peak power. 👍
Turbo inlet made a difference on my s3 absolutely. It’s a pretty good bang for your buck mod on these cars. Did the turbo muffler delete at the same time as my turbo inlet but it was definitely noticeable on a tuned car. Most noticeable mod however was the downpipe and the tune.
Wouldn't the gains differ depending on what you're starting with? Maybe the 18hp gain quote is based on a stock rs3 but with a tune and a couple other bolt-ons you can amplify that a bit? I really have no idea -just asking
I did a 'PART 2' of this video that better depicts the performance gains of this inlet. ua-cam.com/video/8FIPygP03J4/v-deo.html I imagine that because my car is tuned it would better utilize this part, just like any other aftermarket parts. If you run it on a stock tuned RS3 you may very well not see the same gains. I am also testing on ethanol or E85. The power gains may be less on pump gas like 93 or 91 octane fuel.
hey quick question when your rs3 revs up and you get the different colors on your tachometer is that from a aftermarket tune? or is it factory ? thanks
I honestly am not sure. If your car is still stock, switch it over to Manual mode. Then rev thru the gears at higher rpm. The different colours don't happen in 1st gear though. I am on Custom Code software and it has been like that ever since I started using it.
@@VancityAudi ok thanks. I seen another guy after he installed air intake. He also had it but he said no tune. And online is no help. I'll do more research. Thanks

IE gives a disclaimer that their Inlet Pipe (for the VW GTI, at least) is not compatible with the DV+. Do you think that this is a deal breaker as compared to the CTS Turbo Inlet pipe?
@@matteocimini8498 my opinion has actually changed as of last year. I have used some of their parts with no issues. In previous years their quality has been subpar and they'd copy more expensive companies designs and then make cheap knock offs. They may not be the absolute best products on the market but the ones I have used have been okay.

I'm honestly not sure. I know that IE makes solid parts though that add performance. I ran both their intake and their turbo inlet for a while and they worked like a hot damn
Vancity Audi thanks for responding, that’s good to hear. I understand that a cold air intake (without tune) is a marginal (if any) horsepower gain and I think I’ll do the inlet pipe at the same time. I’ll do an ECU tune a bit later on. Car currently has under 2,000mi 🙂 Warranties and what not.
@@caffeine4130 IE's new MQB cold air intake looks pretty fancy pants. I wouldn't be surprised if it made a bit more power even on a stock tune. Once you tune the ECU is obviously when you are going to feel the full benefits.
